This is my favorite bar in Ybor. Everything just feels very comfortable, relaxed, and homey, no other way to explain it. The owner and bartenders are friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the location is great. They have a shuffleboard in the back, as well as a juke box, and lots of comfy couches and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Stopped in here for one last drink before Ubering home. It was recommended by a bartender up the street. I think he said it was a dive bar but it didn’t seem too bad to us. Just was a one and done while waiting for our ride. Would probably stop in again if in town.

Best bar ever. Hands down. Josh, Karen and Kari are awesome. Accommodating and quick with drinks. Richard, the owner is cool as shit too. The staff are welcoming to everyone but as someone who lives in Ybor, if you’re a douche — do the locals a favor and find another place to hang out. Thanks! However if you’re cool, stop by and have a drink. I’ll probably see you at the end of the bar and buy you a jagerbomb. :)

Very sexist bar!!! Do not go here if you are having a single lady night by yourself!!! Rude bartenders — chauvinist pigs wish this post was a joke but it is not! Also are not a place for young people either as they charge wayyyyyyy too much for beers. Go to Gaspars, La Herencia, The Resevoir bar to be safe! I live I Ybor so I know!

I love this spot but G0D dam TIX the fukn a/c!!! Always hot and the $ 19 Walmart fans ain’t cutting it. Otherwise, cool bar, good darts and pool, outdoor patio is a nice touch, drinks are stiff!

Typical dive bar. Darts, pool and air hocky. Cheap drinks and very friendly bartenders. Music was to my liking. Not very young crowd. Very true to what it wants to be.

Excellent beer selection, and if you look a bit deeper you’ll notice an impressive collection of higher proofs, older things, and good cocktail skills. It’s a pub, but sans food — loud sometimes, smokey sometimes, comfortable all the time. Pool tables are in good shape and taken care of, dart boards are intelligently placed. Fair warning: The staff are pro’s, and douchebag hijinks that cross the line will be met with equal and opposing force, although the crowd looks like a good bit of self-policing takes place on its own. Still, I’ve never been here when it wasn’t welcoming, friendly, and damn near perfect.

Nice chill spot away from the craziness. Mature atmosphere. Can smoke your cigars and cigarettes while playing darts and pool or just lounging.

Friendly, professional staff.(rare in Tampa) Free darts! Nice big airy space but still cozy. divey; not dicey. Jukebox is touch tunes so you can control it from your mobile device. Nicely located toward the end of 7th past all the places that attract the less desirable elements of the area.

This is my kind of bar! Definitely not the craziness of some of the other Ybor bars. It’s a bar you can go to without having to scream in each other’s ears to have a conservation. The pool tables and couches give it a nice«chill» vibe and the variety of beer on tap is the icing on the cake.

This place is like a little oasis of chillness on 7th Street in Ybor City. It was our first night in Tampa and we hit the town early. We had already played some darts at a bar down the street, and had some dinner at a Greek Restaurant, when we wandered into The Dirty Shame. It’s exactly my type of spot. It’s a wide open space, with couches for chilling, bearded and friendly bartenders, four different Fullers brews on the long pull tap, 4 dart boards and 2 pool tables. We were able to play whatever we wanted. You can’t beat that. I would totally chill here all the time if I lived in Tampa. The only demerit is for the juke box. They have one of those internet juke boxes that plays really bad music all the time that just didn’t match the vibe of the place. We should have been listening to Creedence but instead it was crappy house music and other cheesy sounds. We tried to program some choice selections, but at $ 1/song we couldn’t afford to control the beast all night. When we emerged from the bar 7th street had turned into a scene from Caligula so we just ran for the car. The vibe never got unchill in Dirty Shame though. So if you need a house of refuge from the Saturday Night sh$% show. Duck for cover up in here.

If I actually lived in Ybor or Tampa, I think this would probably be one of my regular watering holes. Despite the pirate themed bar down the street, this place actually looks the part without trying. Lots of old musky wood, dust on the shelves, bearded bartenders, rapscallions, etc. The staff was also very accommodating to me regarding out-of-towner requests like charging my phone behind the bar and whatnot.

Hello Julie F. As an 8 year veteran of The Dirty Shame, I would like to explain that I understand some bars can offer a double for the price of a shot and a half, however, being a small business we charge as ordered. A double is just that, double the price. Goose is $ 8 which would make a double $ 16 a piece. Your shots were $ 7, so two would be $ 14. $ 32 + $ 14=46. Most of my patrons inquire price or ask instead of assuming. I don’t have the pleasure of owning this bar, therefore have no control over the prices. Normal human communication is usually matched when approached. So next time you are surprised by a price, instead of acting out, please keep in mind that it is always best to do unto others as you would like done to yourself. Hopefully you can knowledgeabley and we can start fresh :)

Yes, love this place. To the guy disappointed about no bud light on tap, just check your faucet on your kitchen sink. Plenty of bud light coming out of that thing. Josh also makes some great drinks. Richard is awesome as well!

Visited once and liked it… lots of drafts with good service and pool tables/darts. Live entertainment was rough and loud… but I am not qualified to judge bar bands. Not a bad place to have a few beers and relax in sthe semi-dark.

It’s a Dirty Shame I don’t live in Tampa so I can make this one of my regular bars! I like the dark divey feel of the place, two pool tables, darts, juke box and great staff. The drinks are a decent price and a decent pour, the staff get’s to know what your drink of choice is and rolls with it! AWESOME! This place has that dirty bad biker boy vibe, but it’s nothing like that-just great locals enjoying their drinks and their smokes! I like it!

Get the hell out of here! Am I the first to testify about this homage to drunken bikers, hot chicks, and strong drinks? Is there actually an illuminati trying to suppress the knowledge of such a refuge for wayward souls at the edge of Ybor City? If so, I am screwed due to my current crush on this bar and its patrons. Let’s begin by saying that when you walk through the door that you know immediately that your life will be changed for at least this one night. Couches are arranged to the left of the entrance and will most likely be inhabited by drunken 20somethings with nothing but time and money to burn. And one of them might be passed out for a long period of time which the staff politely ignores. The room is tall, dark, and soaked with the sweaty inebriated souls of those who have gone before. The bartender is cute and despite the sexual innuendos thrown her way by the locals, she does not suffer fools gladly. Once settled into your little corner of the bar and with drink in hand, your night can begin to unfold. The soundtrack to your evening is supplied by a jukebox that pumps out everything from the Stones«Gimme Shelter» to Lady Fucking Gaga. Nothing is out of bounds here. And while every other place down this strip of youth and liquor is poised at trying to sell you something, be it an image or a promise of a good time, The Shame sits back and lets you come to it like a confident woman. You can try your hand at the various watering holes down the street, but when it comes down to drinking and nightlife one can do no better than to penetrate the atmosphere that surrounds The Shame. Pool tables and dart boards. Not the digital dartboards, real fucking dart boards. The street cred is there. The people who know better stream in and out of the door, looking and finding a haven from life and pain with a friendly hello and what will you have type of therapy. No one leaves The Shame worse for wear, all come out a bit wiser and more inebriated than when they came, and in the end is that not what it is all about? Tell just enough people about this prize of Ybor, but no more than that. Fucking tourists are everywhere like cockroaches. Let’s keep this between you and me, OK?
