I called to place an order for pickup, but began by asking them a few questions about the menu. The woman I spoke to kept cutting me off, but assured me that they could make my order vegan so I went ahead and placed an order. The man at the desk was very polite and showed me my order was in fact vegan and I headed home. The food was not good. Very sugary, barely any flavor besides«sweet». The tofu was way too big and flavorless and, of course, comprised the majority of the dish. I only even asked for tofu on one meal and they put it on both. For over $ 20 for two SMALL meals compromised mostly of tasteless tofu that I was not going to eat, I was disappointed enough to call them about it. The woman they put on the phone was immediately defensive saying NOBODY has EVER complained about the tofu lol good one. Then she kept bringing up the fact I wanted it vegan, but taking out eggs and fish sauce should not make your food inedible, sorry. And if you can’t successfully make a dish, don’t serve it to paying customers please. She continued to talk over me before I just gave up and now I am here.

I had the Thai Spring Rolls and Panang Chicken Curry. The spring rolls looked and tasted hand made and fresh to order. The Panang curry was a huge portion and came in a bowl swimming in the curry sauce(which I liked). It came with big chunks of very moist chicken breast which was delicious. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 is that while the curry was delicious, it was not the best I have had(Lemongrass on South Tampa has the best, though it costs more and the portion is smaller). Overall very good and glad I have tons of leftover.

Honestly, it just wasn’t good. I went with 5 other family members and I sampled some of the other plates and all were equally bad. Some had little to no sauce, some had a couple of strands of noodles in a noodle dish, the beef was cooked till it was bone dry, and the shrimp was cooked so long, it could have been mistaken for shrimp jerky. Not worth returning nor recommending to others.

The food was good, but the service was terrible. There were only 3 other tables. We were given attitude for asking for straws, that we eventually had to just walk up and get ourselves. Next, we got more attitude when we asked for cilantro and limes. Our table of 4 was then given 1 lime slice. So then we just specified that we would like 5 limes. Our server then proceeded to shockingly repeat«5? 5 limes?». When we replied with yes, she said it would cost us $ 1. For limes? For 4 people? I guess if limes are that high of a commodity, then that’s fine, but the rudeness was unnecessary. We just settled for 1 more lime. Also, 1 of us got peanuts on the pad thai, despite asking for none due to allergies. We just switched dishes because the hostility was unbearable. Just take your food to go. This place does not value its customers.

Took my daughter to Thai Ruby for her birthday lunch. I had the Salmon and Shrimp garlic, she had the Duck and my wife had the Volcano. All of the meals came on a clam shaped plate. Everything was very good and the service was good as well. It is a little to dark inside but I guess that could be for a romantic setting. I’m not sure but other than that, we had no complaints

I eat here about once every month or so. Not amazing but the best Thai food we’ve found in the area. If you have the craving, this is definitely worth a try.

Hidden gem! I came with a co worker on lunch and was seated immediately. We were served the soup of the day(chicken and rice in a light broth). I ordered the VOLCANOSOFTSHELLCRAB medium(level of heat) entrée so good with a tray of spices to try. I’ll definitely return. I just wish it wasn’t so dark.

We went there on a Friday night. Not very crowded, were able to find a table for 2 of us and the 4 year old. I ordered ‘Fancy Lobster’ from the menu which took about 20 minutes to come. This dish has a lobster tail, scallops, shrimp and some more sea food in it. The lobster was overlooked and was totally inedible. Very disappointing. We had a 4 year old with us, and they did not have any kids menu at all which is a huge disappointment as well. Not very impressed and may never go there again.

Under new management as of the end of December 2015. My entourage didn’t recognize anyone tonight so we asked and they confirmed. I got the Sweet and Sour Chicken at Thai hot. My mom got Chicken Cashew Nut and my dad got the Shrimp in Garlic and Black Pepper. All of them fantastic, and the Thai hot is hot enough for me ! I’m not Thai but what I know sweet and sour is American Chinese(correct me if I’m wrong). However, hands down the best dish yet. Better than what I’ve had in DC and Philadelphia.

Here’s my review of a to go order I placed at Thai ruby’s: There is always a language barrier when you order from an Asian restaurant, but then Ruby’s totally wins you over with service and taste. Red curry with chicken: Tasted amazing and the Quantity was perfect for a lunch portion. Panang with vegetables: tofu was done right and tasted fantastic along with the curry. All in all this is a fantastic place and I would definitely come back!

We went back to this restaurant since my boss have a good experience last time. This time we have a different experience. Seem like the restaurant change the owner or the chef has changed. After the waiter took our order, the accompanying appetizer came out in different group time. We all have the same appetizer but they came out different time. Some of us have it and some have to wait. The garlic squid that I have order is different from I used to get. They are not as perfect garlic sauce as I know. I hope they can improve.

We started with the chicken rice soup which I was a little hesitant about but it ended up being absolutely delicious. I got the chicken fried rice which was pretty good but it shocks me how much restaurants have cut down on how much rice they give in the past couple of years! My mother got the shrimp fried rice which promised to have basil in the menu but she didn’t get any basil leaves and she was pretty upset. When we asked they said that the shrimp spicy fried rice(which was listed in the same exact line as the shrimp fried rice) comes with basil and hers does not. It wasn’t obvious in the menu and they really should fix that or at least point out the difference between two dishes if they’re going to be listed in the same line in the daily lunches special. Overall, the quality and taste of the food was good but the lack of basil leaves made my mom pretty upset!

Great Thai food here, they have a very friendly staff and their food is very good. I came at lunch time and I was surprised at how much food comes with lunch. I ordered a Pad Thai, Thai hot with beef and it as mouth numbingly good. I love that they have a nice spice tray also so you can add more spice if you wish. The lunch came with a bowl of soup and a fried wonton which was a great way to start my meal and to keep my lunch time hunger at bay. They also give a fried Thai donut with condensed milk for dessert, I wasn’t expecting it and it was a pleasant surprise ending to a great meal.

I love Thai food, and love to cook it also. So I am a bit picky about how it is prepared. I stopped by Thai Ruby for lunch, based on the reviews. I found good service, traditional décor, and a nice ambiance. I ordered my standby, Thai Green Curry… and asked if the soup that is included could be upgraded to the Tom Kha Gai(Chicken Coconut Curry soup), and was told no substitutions unfortunately(I was willing to pay more if needed). So I stuck with the house soup. It came shortly, and was quite good… a clear, garlicky chicken broth with bits of chicken and some rice. The Green Curry was well presented, and tasty. although much sweeter than I am used to in Green Curry. and very little heat(and since Green Curry is Green because of pureed green peppers(jalapenos, etc.), I found that odd). I enjoyed it barring the sweet taste(and as mentioned in another review I read, there was what appeared to be canned corn, canned peas, and canned green beans served with it… not traditional at all, but reasonable for a inexpensive lunch) The two small Thai donuts(Pa Thong Ko) were ok(they appeared to be made from canned biscuit dough… which is a reasonable substitution, although not as light as real homemade Pa Thong Ko). I will have to try them for a full dinner and see if the food is more traditional, and if they are more willing to work with substitutions and such. I will probably update this review after having done so.

I come here pretty regularly. They have excellent lunch specials. My favorites are the pad see ew and tofu spicy noodle. I find their pad thai a bit too sweet personally. If you like spice, be sure to ask for the spice tray. It is out of this world!
