Salon Norrell AVEDA – an AVEDA Concept Salon

I went to Salon Norrell for the second time last week for a cut and partial highlight. The first time I went they scheduled me with someone who never takes late appointments. I ended up taking a 3:30 appointment because it was available and leaving work early. The stylist was very good but double booked so I ended up waiting a very long time in between my services and during my highlight processing. My hair takes quickly to bleach and I do not like to wait like this so I was very frustrated. He cut and highlights took 2.5 hours which is way too long for my hair.
When I made my second appointment I made it with a stylist who was very reasonably priced ($ 105) for cut and highlights and who takes appointments after 5:00. She was wonderful and much faster than my original stylist. She did shampoo and blow dry someone else’s hair while my highlights were processing but she checked my hair several times and someone else shampooed (awesome shampoo by the way!). When I was ready for my cut she was done with the other person. She also apologized and said a stylist was on vacation that week so everyone was picking up her weekly clients. I was extremely happy with my second experience and made another appointment in 8 weeks while I was there.

Beware of this place. I was woefully overcharged by the owner when I was checking out. Went in for partial highlights and was charged for color and highlights and she knew what service I went in for!!! I asked the price beforehand. The job done by Jenny was at best mediocre. I was charged for toner and a second bowl of product that had maybe a tablespoon of product in it. (That was just to charge more.) She only did two or three more foils. That was not necessary for another bowl of product. (Sneaky) They never told me there would be a charge for either of these items. The next morning my hair looked horrible. She didn’t dry my hair completely because she was in a rush to rip someone else off. I would NEVER go back there again..

I was in town for the holiday and full disclosure my sister is a stylist at this salon… so I got my hair done at the salon for the first time. They have some great services… including a nice pre wash scalp massage with oil and then again with the shampoo, it was lovely. The salon is very nice and clean! And if you are a fan of Aveda products then you are in the right place. I didn’t realize how many different products they offered, even skin products… they have a wide selection. I would recommend trying the place out for sure.
