The Red Elephant was always a great experience when I went there. I don’t know why they closed shop.

Horrible. It states that they deliver but only for a $ 100 minimum. If you only cater then don‘t put you deliver, you give people the wrong impression. Ended up not choosing this place for lunch and felt so disappointed. I really do enjoy their greek salads and my office is literally only 5 minutes away but unfortunately I can‘t leave sometimes to go get lunch so I need a place that delivers. Just felt overall disappointed that they didn‘t deliver. My recommendation is to change that delivery to no delivery and only cater. Just sayin!

We ordered 2 meals from GrubHub today(GrubHub sucks by the way). We ordered what must have been 2 signature meals: a Rebecca’s salad and an Elephant Classic pizza. It took about an hour during lunch rush to have the order delivered which was much shorter than originally stated 2.5 hour time stated by GrubHub(did I mention GrubHub sucks?). The food was appropriate temperature and looked tasty. Opening the meals we were both visually pleased with our respective meals. Upon first bite, both of us are very happy. Briefly about each meal: Rebecca’s salad is their twist on a fried chicken salad. The chicken was wrapped separately in foil keeping it from ruining the lettuce during transit(fancy!) and the chicken seemed to be breaded in an Italian style, something like you might find a breaded parmigiana meal. Very tasty, my partner reports. The pizza was small for your average dude but good for a lunch size meal. The sausage was kind of ground up(crumbled, if you will, fancy schmancy!). The pizza also had some sort of spice mixture on it that was very good. Crust was also crunchy and full ‘o flavor. I would have sent photos but we were too hungry to bother. There will be a next time!

Always good fast service and delicious food. Their Siesta Key salad is amazing. Always busy when we come, but never have to wait for a table. Oh, and their pizza is good too.

A lot more of a family place than it appears from the outside. Not a bad thing I just thought it would be more like Anthony’s. The food was not bad the staff was friendly but my waitress didn’t allow me to sample the sausage to check it’s level of spice, other than that it was fine. Also would’ve liked the cheese bread and pizza to be really hot and didn’t offer any natural alternatives for kids drinks.

I would love to try other things on their menu so I may be back, but the pepperoni pizza I had wasn’t so great so it makes me wonder about the rest of their menu items.

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch one day. We weren’t exactly in a hurry but if we had known that our meal would take well over and hour we never would have gone in. When we first got there the service was good. The waitress asked if it was our first time and went over some suggestions with us. She brought our drinks out and then vanished for a little while. We were starting to get antsy when she showed up to take our order, as 10 – 15 minutes had passed and our menus were laying closed on the table. Based on the Unilocal reviews I was expecting mediocre food and excellent service. Unfortunately our waitress continuously dropped the ball. She kept disappearing for long periods of time… I have no idea where she went. We finished our meal and were waiting for about 10 – 15 minutes for the check(a personal pet peeve. I HATE sitting around waiting for the check). She finally appeared out of nowhere, told us she had a special surprise for us since it was our first time, and then left. We really just wanted to pay the check and get out of there, but she left before we could tell her. It took another 10 – 15 minutes to get the surprise, the free elephant ear. Then it took about 20 minutes to finally get our check. After another 10 – 15 minutes of waiting for change my husband finally went to the bar to get change. The food was mediocre. I could live with that since the prices are cheap, but only if the service were excellent. Unfortunately the service sucked, so we definitely won’t waste anymore time or money on this place. Sitting around for well over an hour when it only actually takes us 10 minutes to eat our food is pretty ridiculous.

I ordered lunch from here a couple weeks ago and it was terrible. I ordered a salad and pita chips with hummus. First of all the salad said it was«mixed greens» but it was a container full of iceberg lettuce on top of the fact that they didn’t give me any dressing. This made for a completely tasteless salad that I couldn’t even finish. The so-called pita chips, were chewy and greasy and I couldn’t even eat them. I couldn’t tell if they were just badly made or yesterday’s that they tried to just heat up in a microwave. The staff was ok when I picked it up, but nothing to write home about. I’m not likely to ever go there again.

Average food. Only recommend if you have kids. One plus: I liked the art on the walls.

Not bad, not bad. I’ve heard a lot of hype over this restaurant and I must say I don’t quite know why. Other than a very attentive wait staff and friendly management, I was not incredibly impressed with the food. I guess you can say it is simple food done well. Nothing fancy, or over the top. Good for those seeking simplicity and consistency. I may or may not go again. Not really something that caters to my own personal cravings or desires. Again, not bad, but not great.

Stopped in for my first time last night, and was impressed! The waitress and manager treated us so well, and that’s what made the biggest impact. The entrees were good-but-just-shy-of-great. I loved the thin-yet-substantial crust on my boyfriend’s pizza, and my Mediterranean veggie rice bowl was surprisingly flavorful and packed with toppings. And the elephant ears? Oh my. Perfectly crisp dough in mounds of powdered sugar, like a pizza parlor version of zeppolis/beneigts. Is the menu anything excessively innovative or gourmet? No, but the prices are really reasonable and the flavors are comfort classics. Overall, they did a great job taking care of us and the food was solid, and for that we’ll be repeat customers!

We came here for a late lunch after 2 lacrosse wins. Pizza is front & center here & it looks like there are a lot of healthy options, but I ended up having the elephant burger. That came with a wheat bun, mushrooms, sauteed onions, bacon, cheese, lettuce & tomato. I added a side of onion rings for an extra buck. The toppings made the burger kinda sloppy, but it worked. The rings were nice & fresh. The service was prompt. They had $ 2 beer & margarita specials. The beers were tall, but the ritas were tiny. We had a big group & overall this place is a good choice for a large group.

Red Elephant is a neighborhood pizza chain that caters to families during the day, and 20 something’s at night. The restaurant is located in the big retail mall along Dale Mabry, just south of Ehrlich Road. Red Elephant shares the mall with the new Leroy Selmon’s Restaurant, Grill Smith, Fit Life, and several spots. You’ll find Red Elephant in about the center of that long stretch of retail establishments. The staff held the doors open for us as we walked in, and thanked us for coming to visit. They walked us right to a table, and the server was there in moments to take our drinks order and point out some of the lunch specials. The attention to customer service was fantastic! The restaurant was filled with families, and several kids who had spent the morning playing soccer or softball. Even though there was a lot of energy from the kids wired up on sugary colas, the noise level wasn’t bad. We split a small Greek salad, and then ordered the medium-sized(12 inch) Elephant Classic pizza. The salad had hearts of Romaine, green peppers, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, pepperoncinins, feta cheese, and a balsamic dressing. Everything was very fresh, but I thought they were a little heavy-handed with the dressing. Next time I’ll order that on the side. The pizza was thin crust, square-sliced, and crispy with homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and green peppers. The dough and sauce were obviously homemade and not straight out of a can. I thought that the pizza was quite good — not at all greasy. It’s not a gourmet pizza joint, but certainly better than most carryout or store-bought pizzas. The menu has soups, salads, appetizers, chicken wings, rice bowls, pasta bowls, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, along with beer, wine and cocktails. Lots of TVs tuned to sporting events.

Atmosphere was nice and inviting. Fairly busy but was sat quickly. Our wait staff was exceptional and good with our two little ones. We chose the Ahi Tuna app(at a pizza joint?) and were pleased with it. As this was out first time visiting, we chose to try the pizza. The pizza was more Chuck E Cheese than artisan as we had hoped. We ordered a half peperoni and half pep/mush/peppers. What we got was a peperoni pizza that had some extras thrown on top and warm up. THe mushrooms were fairly raw and the peppers were crisp as opposed to baked. We were treated to an elephant ear(desert) since it was our first visit too. Again, the staff was great– the pizza fell short. I might be inclined to try something from the grill should we visit again.

Good prices overall, but the food seems a bit pre-prepared. Chicken appears to be packaged chicken, and that is generally a good way to tell about the quality of food. I think I could get the same chicken at subway.

Absolutely horrendous food. Drove around Dale Mabry looking for a place to eat one Saturday evening, and every place we looked at was crowded to the rafters. Except this place. We were literally the only people there. THISSHOULD’VEBEENMYFIRSTSIGN. I ordered a tomato bisque. What came out was vodka sauce in a soup bowl. SERIOUSLY. Followed by lackluster boneless wings and a pizza so tasteless I thought I was eating a dish of packing peanuts with equally lackluster tomato sauce. I wouldn’t give this food to prison inmates for fear of mass riots in the cell blocks. That’s how bad it was. If this was hundreds of years ago and Ponce de Leon’s tired and hungry crew discovered this awful place while looking for the Fountain of Youth, they would’ve eaten their own ship’s sails before returning to this establishment.

I went here awhile ago on two occasions: with a large group of work friends and on a date. The pizza was decent. The atmosphere really suited the large group though, so kids or work friends. not really a date place as it gets loud.

When I first walked into the Red Elephant, I was immediately hit with that family atmosphere feeling. First off, the aroma of freshly made pizza fills the entire restaurant. Secondly, the interior design isn’t gaudy and the lightning isn’t overly bright or too dark. There, of course, are elephant themed pictures and colors easy on the eye throughout the restaurant. For a sports fan like myself, you’ll be glad to know there are several strategically placed flat-screen televisions with whatever sporting event is taking place at the time. If you’re feeling like sitting outside, there are seats to accomodate you. The outside view is fairly nice, as there is just a little strip of road nearby for cars to get to the rear parking area and across that little strip is a Japanese steakhouse. If I recall correctly, the entire outside is covered but I’m not quite sure if this would shield one from the rain entirely. Meanwhile, back inside, the booths are large and can comfortably sit 3 adults on each side. Of the 3 times that I’ve eaten here, I’ve never felt cramped. In the back, there is a little arcade room for your enjoyment. Also, you can see the kitchen from anywhere you sit. There is also a full liquor bar near the front if you’re looking to grab a quick drink prior to being seated or if you are just looking to wet your whistle. Now, besides all the aesthetics, let’s sink or teeth into the menu. The Red Elephant is primarily a pizza-themed restaurant but also has several other choices if you aren’t seeking a pie. If you are bringing a party of 4 or more, and you’re aren’t feeling particularly«healthy», I’d suggest giving the Bucket of Boiled Peanuts a try. There’s a plenty to go around and their warm and smooth texture is a nice start to waiting for your meal. The Red Elephant Loaded Fries are also quite tasty and went fairly quickly when I went with a party of 6. The pizza here is actually very good. You can either order a pizza to feed multiple people or order a 4-slice individual pizza. They have several popular pre-built toppings choices but I highly recommend to just do a «Build Your Own» to fit your tastes. They have a large amount of Meat and Veggie choices. Just check their menu online and see for yourself. The pizza itself is square cut and thin-crusted. They use a mozarella cheese and a «homemade» sauce. Altogether, I’ve tried several variations and I’ve enjoyed every slice that I’ve had from the Red Elephant. When you bite in, you should expect a tad bit of a crunchy texture and a slight hint of burnt flavoring which actually adds well to the overall taste of the pizza. If you like pizza, and who doesn’t, you might wanna give this place a try. As for the rest of the menu, I haven’t really tried any of the other choices but, as a note, if you are a salad person, there are also several salad choices on their menu as well. If you still have a little space leftover and are out with some friends, grab a few spoons and get yourselves an 1001 Chocolate Chip Cake. There’s so much chocolate going on that your tongue will be dancing with ecstasy. Out on a date? You’re probably looking at something in around the $ 25-$ 30 dollar range.

Been meaning to come here for a while too. Im surprised there are no reviews for this place considering its been open for quite a while now. Anywho, on with the reivew: The Outside: Parking is in a semi-private lot, shared with a few other restaurants. There really isn’t anything spectacular about the outside; there are 2 benches for people waiting to get seated. The Inside: Big! There are seats everywhere. The kitchen is in the back and is visible from the main dining area. There is a bar on the right side, as well as the arcade and the restroom hall. The Food: The menu has a variety of items to eat. Cold, hot, fried, you name it. But if you came here for the pizza this is where it all changes. The pizza is flat, but it’s not in slices. NO, it’s in squares! The center squares are about 2″ by 2″, the other pieces are hard to measure. And don’t expect a square pizza; this is a traditional round pizza. Over all it was a good experience. Make reservations because it does get packed, most restaurants get packed on a Friday evening. Good for all ages.
