Popeyes

It’s fast food so how much can you really expect? The flavor is good and consistent. When I lived up north there was only one Popeye’s in the city (and not near a subway stop) so with that stretch of abstinence in my past I do tend to elect here versus other fast food spots. I must say though that a couple of months ago this would only be a one star review. They never had food ready and would make you park. Also, I had gotten attitude as if I was intruding but not anymore. As of late the employees smile and i’m in and out with a CORRECT order. If you’re in the area and looking for grab and go chicken this is an ok stop.

It’s spicy Louisiana style chicken at a revamped spot, and it’s fast. I’ve been to this location plenty over the years, but once you’ve hit one, you have hit em all. I’ve had nothing but great service at the new and super old locations. One thing remains the same: tasty, crispy fried chickens! I certainly feel guilty as the grease laminates my chin, but it’s more flavorful than Church’s and it’s just a one time thing, right?! Thanks Alvin C. Copeland, for keeping us plump since 1972, Popeye Doyle would be proud!

I don’t always crave both fast food and fried chicken simultaneously, but when I do, I head to Popeye’s. I believe this particular location was the first or second opened in Tampa. In the early 90s during high school, we used to make the trek from South Tampa to this locale for the biscuits alone. The chicken was always secondary. Admittedly, it’s been years since I’ve been back, but La Chica and I had the craving, and the one that was on McMullen Booth is long gone, so off we went. We were met with very friendly customer service at the counter, and our order was ready within 3 minutes – very fast. After ordering, the girl who took our order gave us a coupon book for future savings. Again, I don’t eat this tuff a lot, so they will probably just expire, but it was a kind notion, and much appreciated.
The place was orderly and as clean as a fast food fried chicken joint can be. The food was piping hot, even the biscuits and sides. The chicken was crispy as all-​get-​out and perfectly juicy. I seriously had no complaints.

The sooner this location closes, the better. never has chicken done or the pieces you want. shorts you on drink. fast food doesn’t take 15 – 20 minutes. staff is rude and unprofessional. D– experience and that’s stretching it

So I love thier chicken however I dread going here every time. I went here last night to get Ty and I some dinner and I ordered at 9:16 and then sat in line in the driver thru to get my food until 9:33. I know I should have just left and gone somewhere else but it was late and this place is close to my house. So stop by here if you have time to waste in line.

My other stop in Tampa. POPEYEs!!! It’s doesn’t matter what anyone says or thinks this place is awesome. I’m giving it 4 stars because of the chicken alone. Yummy and delicious. Crispy, juicy, a little spicy.
The service: Horrible. There are no other words for it.
The location isn’t great either. Not recommended after dark.
I go there all the time though and never had a bad piece of chicken.

Fried chicken is there anything better? Not really but if you have not you tried Popeye’s then you have missed out. They have the best fast food chicken. It has a something different to it… that extra pop called spice, you can have regular of course but I suggest you try the spicy. Its not that so spicy that your mouth is on fire and you cant taste anything else. I love the red beans and rice I would go for this side alone and the biscuits are light and fluffy. AT this location service and staff was a mix of good and friendly to bad and inattentive I have only been there once so I cant really stick to the negative review. Again fried chicken w/​red beans and rice are a great ! Dont believe me try any Popeye, s for yourself … I bet you will be back.
