This is the third time we have been to this location to eat, and i have said each time we are not coming back. This will be the very last time, at least at this location. The service is extremely poor and the quality of the food is terrible. I have been to other locations that are much better. This one needs a management change. Don’t waste your time or money.

Egg rolls were good. Sesame chicken was alright. Chicken Pad Thai was disgusting since they don’t use natural chicken. I hated that every person in our part received their food at a different time. Never eating here again.

Usually only get take away from here but we have stayed to eat a few times. have always had good food from here. We love the lettuce wraps and Pei Wei Spicy meals and even though they seem a little pricey you get a lot of food for your money. Ordering the protein steamed saves on the calories but doesn’t sacrifice flavors in my opinion. They also have the cool coke machines too.

The service was good. The portion size was great. I do NOT like the flavor sauce used for the pad Thai dish ATALL. But the food was fresh and very flavorful. Overall the vibe is More like a step up from Panda Express, But not the traditional Asian inspired restaurant and ambiance.

After the absolute chaos during my one and only visit to the Pei Wei on Westshore, it took me months to convince myself to venture back into any Pei Wei. While some Unilocalers seem to think the Westshore location will put this South Dale Mabry one out of business, I want the opposite to happen. This Pei Wei has its act together unlike the Westshore location, which seems to have people working the counter who don’t want to be there. From the moment I entered the front door here, two very professional and caring female employees made sure I had their complete attention and a nice gentleman named Alberto spoke to me the entire time I waited for my order about what Westshore did wrong and how it simply cannot happen at any store. Because of these employees, I am happy to return to this location again for more delcious sesame chicken and sides. Honestly, I don’t even know how long I waited for my order because the conversation was so comfortable, but it wasn’t anything unreasonable for this kind of meal.

You can tell the quality is slowly draining from this place ever since a new Pei Wei popped up over near Westshore. While I love Pei Wei and still thought my meal had good flavor, I couldn’t believe how overcooked my tofu was in my meal today. Usually when I get tofu from here in their pad thai, it is plentiful and in large, thick pieces that still have a softness to them. These pieces of tofu sautéed with the carmel sauce were like small erasers; they were tough, and some pieces were actually kinda scrapes on the roof of my mouth. While the sauce was delicious and hid that flaw, I was pretty disappointed with that. As another Unilocaler pointed out, there seems to be some chaos in the kitchen because they can’t seem to get orders out at the same time. My meal came out 5 – 10 minutes before my husband’s. Other tables were even getting food before him, so it’s a little confusing since we ordered together. Hopefully they will step up their game, or the Westshore Pei Wei is going to run them out of town.

Everything we ordered was great. Why three stars? There were 5 of us in our party. Each person received their meal about 5 – 8 minutes apart. Therefore, the first person to get their meal was asking for a to-go box as the last persons meal was coming out. That equates to poor kitchen management. I, very politely told an employee that this was the only aspect of my experience that was disappointing and he said«it happens all the time». So, I guess I should have just expected that. I suggest you eat here alone instead of a group. I get that they want to bring each dish out hot and fresh, but it’s just awkward – start eating or wait for everyone else to receive their meal? The lettuce wraps were great and I enjoyed the pei wei spicy chicken and brown rice. It was delicious and fresh. Unfortunately, 3 stars though for the experience.

I ordered the Thai dynamite chicken and it’s bad. I ventured out and ordered fried rice with it and I would say there is about a quarter cup of soy sauce in it. This place has gone so far downhill. Better staff was recently replaced with some questionable people.

Quick, fresh and prepared to order. Always easy to get in and out whether dining in or taking out. I have been to this location and have never been disappointed. I would I’ve more stars but it is not the amazing Asian cuisine that I can get in non chain restaurants. I typically stick with ordering the beef and broccoli with garlic sauce, pad thai, lettuce wraps and egg rolls. All have good flavor!

Pei Wei & I have been acquainted for quite some time. Their food is fresh & prepared to order. You know your meal will always arrive piping hot. I have no issues with food quality & everything I have tried has been quite good. My issue is that the portion sizes have been reduced. You still get a fair amount of food for your money, just not the same as it used to be. I love their starters & make it a small plate meal with hot & sour soup. No indie here, but consistent good eats. The staff up font has plenty of room for improvement. What’s a girl to do? Ya want Chinese food, you get the best you can find, near where you are.

Why, oh why are folks so hard on my little PeiWei? Unilocalers judge this place like it’s cloth napkin fine dining. It’s a step up from fast food(in the best of ways). You order, they make your meal from fresh ingredients and bring it to you. On this night’s visit with my portable person, that food was great as usual, plus Hector, one of the cooks, came out to ask how our food was. He seemed genuinely pleased when I told him how much we enjoyed it and that we’ve never had a bad experience eating at PeiWei. It’s true. So, bottom line, you give me decent prices, hot, fresh food, a clean, decent looking place to eat it, plus friendly staff with a good attitude and I’m happier than a tick on a St. Bernard.

Food was waaaaay too salty. The chicken wraps were mushy and disgusting. I’ll stick to the Pei Wei up north.

Finally got here with our Son-in-Law, who really likes the place… and is generally a chain restaurant fan. We were pleased with the quality, quick service and overall lunch experience. Possibly because of the abundance of non-chain Chinese restauants in nearly every strip mall, Chinese chains do not do well… except in airports and PF Chang that is a bit more upscale than most. The Pei Wei niche is quick, simple, fast and low cost. Having an entrance order/pay station expedites the process so that you can select a table and get your drink only to have food arrive soon thereafter. We tried the viet rolls, spicy chicken salad, hot/sour soup and were well satisfied. In and out before noon in less than 30 minutes without rushing, but we arrived early to avoid the noon waiting line.

Worst Pei Wei ever!!! Table and floors are always dirty… food/plates left sitting on tables 15 – 20 min after people leave. Light dinner crowd tonight but people wandering around looking for a clean seat. 4th visit but definitely not coming back to this location!!!

You’re in Tampa(not China town) and you want good, fast, Chinese? Pei-wei is one of the few options, and in my opinion, the best. If you’re familiar with the national chain PF Chang’s, this is their child. It’s not a table service restaurant per see, because you order at a counter… But today I saw staff bringing food out to the tables, don’t know why I thought you picked it up at the counter. Anyway… The menu is much smaller than Chang’s, but I love it. I like when I can order 2 rangoons, or 1 egg roll, and I love their fried rice. I’ve only had chicken dishes here, so that’s what gets them to a 4 in my book, they’re all delicious! I need to try the sushi soon, it looks awesome!

Pei Wei and I go way back. We are the best of buddies. When I find something I like, I latch onto it like a freakin’ leech. And I latched onto the chicken teriyaki on fried rice! It was love at first taste. The dish is not overly sweet and not that heavy, meaning that you don’t hate yourself after you eat all of it. It’s a great price for what you get too because you have lots to take home… sometimes ;). From time to time I’ve tried other things, but this by far tips the hat at being the greatest item on their menu. Alongside having great food, the atmosphere seems upscale and classy. When you walk in there is this deep red color that calms you down and puts you in a nice mood that is ready for food and not to mention the smell is just amazing. Just an overall pleasant place to come in for a great dinner. Just recently they added some sushi to the menu and I just want to say that it’s not a sushi place, so don’t get your hopes up high, but it was still good! I had the mango California roll and it is already pre-made in the fridge, so when you order it just keep in mind that it will be super cold(for those with sensitive teeth like me). :) Happy Eats!

Our experience in service and caring pushed this to 4 stars, the food was 3-star. This Peiwei allowed us inside the store five minutes before opening in a downpour. The store was spotless, the floor immaculate bright red(perhaps slippery in the rain) The hostess/order taker at the counter was kind, patient and helpful. They essentially have 3 menus – a lighter fare menu, a pick your meat/veggies/sauces menu and an ala carte menu. The small salad with steamed chicken(special order, it comes fried) looked large and delicious and tasted great with a lime vinaigrette. The hot & sour soup($ 1.99 cup) was way overpeppered with black pepper. The crab wontons were crunchy, pretty and flavorful with a great spicy sauce. I was wishing the spring roll was the soft flour not fried spring roll. It was just a miniature egg roll. Tasted fine but not stellar. The chicken lettuce wrap was«okay» Very soy sauce/teriyaki/salty and mixed as a glob. We wouldn’t order that one again, though the lettuce was fresh and amply supplied. Great mandarin orange iced tea. We liked that they allowed a $ 2 serving, a $ 4 serving, etc so you could choose your own serving size. Two people stopped by our table to ask if we needed anything(fork, napkins-it’s serve yourself and some of our party forgot. Nice for their help. Sodas $ 2.

Took my MIL there for some lunch and was shocked on how the quality of the food and the portion sizes have changed. I was in the mood for a bowl of Wonton soup and it was significantly smaller than I remembered. I asked the girl for a ladle and she said«we don’t give those out any more, you’ll have to use your soup spoon». The spoon I used to eat with? The extra plates by the self serve station were quite dirty. The tables were dirty. Not impressed and probably won’t be back.

We gave this location another shot because I had a gift card. We got there around 6:00, so there were only a few tables. We ordered the pork and pineapple lettuce wraps, thai dynamite shrimp, and the dan dan noodles. Even with the major screw up last time, I was a little more confident in their service because they weren’t busy, but again, I was disappointed. After about 10 minutes, my girlfriend’s shrimp came out before the appetizer. 10 minutes after that, the appetizer came and 10 minutes after that, nothing else came. I waited a few more minutes and then asked one of the food runners when my dan dan noodles were coming and he came soon after and told me they forgot them. There were only 3 items on the check and 4 tables eating, so I was perplexed as to how they could screw even that up. Another 10 minutes and finally my entrée arrived after everything else was eaten. The lettuce wraps were really good, but the dan dan noodles were just meh. The flavor was nice, but the noodles were over cooked and there were multiple clumps of noodles stuck together that were hard and dry. How the cook didn’t see those, I’m not sure, but I get the vibe that no one there seems to really care. I still have more left on the gift card, so I might just give it away.
