So sad this place has seemed to have closed, best sushi I’ve had in the area, and so clean and modern

Sukiyaki is a newish restaurant in the Neptune plaza across the street from Publix. They have an array of options to choose from. We both got the ramen(one shoyu and one miso). It wasn’t bad but we have had better ramen at ramen specialty restaurants in the area. The owner/manager is very hospitable. The prices are average for the area. Next time we try out Sushi Yaki we will try something other than ramen to give it a fair review :)

This place has a four star rating on Unilocal? This has to be a mistake, I mean let’s get real. Service was so-so, the establishment wasn’t the most inviting, and the food… Well let’s just say it was lacking to say the least. Ordered the crawfish roll, tuna bowl, chicken teriyaki, Toro and Miso soup. Of all the dishes only the Miso stands out. The Tuna Bowl was sloppy, nothing close to the bowl you get at a Ciccio Cali. The chicken teriyaki was nothing special, tasted like cafeteria food to be honest, a grilled chicken with cheap tasting teriyaki sauce. The Toro was horrible, I get that it’s fatty but this was so gummy and chewy that it made it inedible. The crawfish roll was lacking freshness and flavor. So my advice to Sushi Yaki is to first lower their prices, the food not worth the cost, not even close. Take a look at ciccio cali and mimic what they do.

It’s like fast food for sushi-but better quality than you might expect. Prices are fair and they have a few unique menu items like lava drops, which almost tastes like a dessert sushi bite! I’ve had better sushi, but for a quick fix this place is great. The lady at the counter is awesome! She’s sweet and helpful and worth making the visiy

Sushiyaki is great! My boyfriend and I have been here twice, and we were shocked at the quality of food for such a reasonable price. The first time we went, I ended up getting the spicy tuna bowl, and my boyfriend got the tofu stir fry. We also went a little crazy and got some fried tofu, miso soup, ginger salads, spring rolls, and seaweed salad(we had the groupon and so it was so cheap… we couldn’t resist! And we eat a lot…). Then the second time, I got the salmon teriyaki bowl and he got the tofu stir fry again. Everything was great. :) This is the perfect place if you want food(and a beer/sake) that is better than fast food, but not as expensive as fancier dining. The fish is super fresh, and they pride themselves in never serving fish that was frozen. Oh, and the service is awesome!

I’ve done take-out and dine in at this new south Tampa sushi spot and highly recommend it for both! Sushi is fresh and reasonably priced, and the owners/employees are so nice! A couple of weeks ago, we went in about 20 minutes before close, so we were the only people there at the time. The owner made us a sample of her favorite roll(an off menu roll) for us to try. It was delicious and a nice gesture that will keep me coming back! Definitely give this place a try if you live in the south Tampa area!

Terrible overpriced sushi awaits you here. In a quarter mile radius there are four or five better and cheaper sushi places. It is a shame that the rolls were poorly prepared, priced like the most trendy places in town, and was not as good as supermarket sushi.

Cute place — a step up from your typical fast food. They have a very extensive menu for the size of the place, which really surprised me. I tried a mini-smörgåsbord of food, with varying results: Edamame — free with Unilocal check in — parts were still frozen, and parts were warm, so somebody there needs to learn how to cook them. Miso Soup — generous portion, but pretty salty, and could use more tofu. Kani Salad — chopped cucumbers and krab with rice vinegar and sesame seeds — very tasty and would be perfect if they gave it a little bit of a kick. Tuna Sashimi — three nice size pieces, I just wish they had more flavor. All in all it was a solid meal, and I would definitely be back to try other items on their menu.

Went here because my usual sushi restaurants were closed on New Years. I was surprised to see JustThai closed and this replaced it. The sushi wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t return as I have my regular sushi restaurants where no other restaurant can beat. Reasons for the 3 stars: Price: Not worth it. For 20 $ I got a bento box and another sushi roll. For average sushi 20 $ is way too high. The shrimp tempura roll wasn’t warm and the rice either. Spicy tuna roll wasn’t super tasty and they could improve on their spicy mayo. I will say their service is super quick so if you’re looking for a decent and quick meal, Sushi Yaki is alright.

Really loved the friendly, personable staff. They were really helpful with helping me decide what to order. Sushi was awesome and fish was so fresh. I also really love the stir fry udon. The best eel sauce I’ve had in a while. Great prices and really cool atmosphere.

This place is awesome! Service was great, very professional and knowledgable. The quality of the food was super fresh and everything we ordered was delectable. Its hard to find a good sushi restaurant and this place is definitely a gem, not to mention super fast and affordable. UnilocalITOUT!

The place was new, clean comfortable and services was friendly just like most of the reviews mentioned. Grill salmon bento box was my favorite among all the items we ordered. Our miso pork ramen missing egg compared to Anna’s picture. But there was good amount of pork in there. The noodle was too soft, no texture. The broth was Ok. The yummy shrimp was Ok. The spicy tuna roll was not spicy and the tuna inside the roll tasted too soft and watery, either the processing technique or they used the low grade fish. The food here was like the shopping mall food court food. This place provides the convenience for the local people to grab a quick bite. The dishes we tried were not particular impressive.

We like to thank a Unilocal friend give us a groupon to try this place. I have been book mark this place since their opening. I am excited and looking forward to try the new restaurant. Positive note: the service is great at this place. Since they just opening, all furniture and deco is rather new. It is interesting to see new restaurant is on their feet. The order is easy to spot on for the selection. Food came with good quantity in some. The food: we have order the three different front of the menu. The bento box for the cooking skills; the sushi for the technique; and the ramen to compare to the rest of ramen place. The bento box is average. The salmon can be seasoning and pan seared and burn a bit to get the crispy of the fish meat. The goyaza is tasty. The sushi roll is just the average with no wow factor. The sushi rice can be better prepared with better taste. The fish is low quality or cut in bad technique. Cannot tell too much but not impressed by it. One positive is the ramen. The miso soup base is flavored. They are the restaurant gave the most charshu pork in the Bay Area. The noodle of the ramen is a bit too soft, this can be easily improved. I would said I have been here and check off. Good for people in short duration of the lunch time.

Sushi Yaki is a great place to get a quick and tasty Asian food. The store itself is clean, bright, and has a modern feel. There is a combination of chairs and booths to sit at. For what it is, I really enjoyed our experience and I felt the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. We went with another couple this past Saturday night and we were amazed by the varied menu. We tried all of the specials which included miso eggplant, Korean BBQ wings, and kimchi fried rice. We also ordered several sushi rolls, pork ramen, chicken udon, shrimp, a side salad with ginger dressing, and a salmon bento box with brown rice(I love that you can select brown rice). We enjoyed all the entrees however the salad had a bit too much oil on it and I found the ramen to be a bit too salty however it was quite tasty. The salmon bento box, complete with skin on salmon, rice, and dumplings and was very enjoyable. The service was fast and friendly and the food arrived at our table hot and as it was ready. I liked the idea that the group of us could take an order form(found at the Resturant) and deliberate what we wanted. Mulan took care of our order at the counter and brought out food out to our table. She was personable and fast and friendly and brought us a bonus sushi roll(a rainbow) on the house for our wait time(which wasn’t even noticeable to me). The restaurant offers fountain drinks as well as bottled. There are also beer options and sake available. Sushi Yaki has delivery available and offers online ordering. There is outdoor seating and parking located in the area of the strip mall where the restaurant is housed. Check out this new hip spot for Asian food and I don’t think you will be disappointed.

This is not fancy dining or health food. It’s yummy fast casual Japanese food including some fun specials like miso eggplant, kimchi fried rice, and Korean style chicken wings. They have bento box selections, the terriyaki salmon was generous poetion wise and tasty. They also do a good sweet and smoky roast pork ramen. Quite yummy. Sushi rolls. Stir fry bowls. It’ a fun casual place. There’s a patio so you can prob bring a dog. Service is friendly. You order at the counter or checkoff on the menu what you want, take a number flag for your table, and they bring you your food out when it’s ready. Fun and tasty.

Fresh. Fast. Delicious! I stopped by after trying to make a massage appointment next door. I was starving after a long day, but hesitant to check it out because sushi usually takes some time to prepare. Well not here! There was only one couple eating at the time of my arrival. I was pleasantly greeted my a young lady who offered her assistance should I have questions regarding the menu. She was so sweet and accommodating! She even came over to my table to greet me and make sure everything was delicious. She really personalized my experience. This is a very clean and modern restaurant. White tables and chairs, gray tile floor, tvs displaying the menu… it sort of reminds me of a Japanese Moes? There are tvs quietly showing sports. I ordered the Mexican roll… a nice, unique addition is a thin slice of jalapeño on top. So delicious! Please come support this restaurant — - they’re fairly new. Definitely worth trying!
