Great taziki and grape leaves. Fresh humans and pita app was good but hummus was a little thick/dry but still good. Lamb was great quality but could have been a little more seasoned. The chicken in my children’s «kids meal» was delicious. Perfectly grilled, lightly seasoned and slightly charred but still moist. I kept stealing bites of theirs it was so good

The place itself was nice. I chose to have my birthday here since I had been meaning to go and none of the people invited had tried it yet either and were curious as well. Nothing was bad per se, but nothing was worthy of a glowing review either. There were seven guests total so between all of us we tried and shared most of the dishes. My boyfriend really enjoyed his chicken dish, but everyone else was indifferent about their meals. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgable on the menu; however, a few of our dishes were brought out in an odd order. A salad intended for an appetizer was brought out after the entrees and an appetizer intended as part of a meal was brought out with the appetizers. For all I know, this could have been a kitchen issue and not his fault, but I feel it is worth noting considering he had no other tables while we were there. I don’t think I’d go back on my own accord.
Nice tap selection. Great food. The location is prime especially if you’re staying downtown. Everything made fresh and the price is spot on. I’d definitely visit again when back in Tampa.

Went here a few nights ago before heading over to a show at the Straz. We had a reservation so my wife and I were seated right away. It is a small restaurant, so I would say try to make reservations if you can. A few walk ins can fill up half the tables in no time. Looking forward to trying the patio seating in the near future. We decided to start by sharing a couple appetizers, so we ordered the Greek salad and the hummus. The salad was crisp and fresh, loaded with olives, pepperocinis and feta, and not overly saturated with dressing. The hummus was delicious, you can tell it was freshly prepared, and the pita was warm and fresh on the side for dipping. For the main course, my wife ordered the chicken shwarma, and I have the falafels. Needless to say, we were both impressed by the freshness of the food and the delicious flavors of their marinades and sauces. We definitely recommend those dishes we tried. To finish, we tried the Baklava, and of course it didn’t disappoint. It was a great experience with fantastic service and great food. We look forward to coming back to try more of the menu!

I’ve been to Kurdis a couple of times for special events and this is a fun Med food option in downtown. I like the décor. They’ve been adding beer pairing dinners and live music offerings. For me personally, the food while good isn’t excellent. I like a little more flavor and variety in ingredients. I would up the rosemary, sliced almond, pine nut, raisin, berry, saucing quotient and I find the meats underseasoned and oversalted. But it’s a cool place with friendly staff and a passionate owner and a good option for kabobs and such. :)

I am officially in love with Kurdi’s Mediterranean Grill. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but the décor is gorgeous and the ambiance is nice. If you can go on a night when the Bob Hope Band is there, you will not regret it. They are amazing and play pop and rock favorites. The food at Kurdi’s was incredible. I learned that their food is all locally sourced and it is so fresh that they don’t even have a freezer! I sampled several things on my visit including the Fattoush Salad which was bright and colorful. It was tasty, but I think I prefer a greek salad. Hi, my name is Crystal and I am a feta addict. If you don’t like feta, the Fattoush is like an elevated fresh non-feta version of the greek salad. I also had the Mixed Grill Platter. All of the meat is marinated for 24 – 48 hours and it tasted incredible. My favorite however was the kufta. The kufta is the most incredible combination of lamb, beef, herbs and spices that I have EVER tasted. It is sort of like a meatball mix that is placed around a skewer and grilled. Off the chain. The kufta is what you want to order. Trust me. I also tried the Chicken Shawarma over rice and it was write-home-to-your-Momma worthy. The marinade elevates this chicken. If the kufta is not calling to you, then go with the Chicken Shawarma. You can not go wrong here. They sell it in a pita with fries at lunch also. I really enjoyed my visit to Kurdi’s and I will be returning soon. I can’t wait to try more items on their menu.

A positive addition to the downtown foodie scene. Not only is the menu delicious but the food is consistent and you can tell the chef is serious about every dish he serves. The owners are very inviting and friendly. The flavors are explosive and really attribute to the appreciation for the entire meal. My favorite dish was the mixed grill platter. The chicken shawarma is delicious and the fattoush salad had more flavor than I have found in a salad in a long time, but the mixed grill is loaded with perfectly cooked proteins, each with its own flavor. To top if off they carry some very unique beers, including locals from Cigar City and Green Bench Brewing. I love a good local beer. If not in the mood for a beer their house made Sangria is delicious or try some more exotic like the Lychee Sake Martini(be careful, it goes down like water). I finished out my meal with a sweet potato cheesecake! I am a huge fan of cheesecake and was skeptical of the sweet potato, but it proved me wrong. It was whipped to perfection.

Across the street. Few paces and spaces from where I stand. I saw it come to life. From an empty lot to what it has become. I love it. It is always friendly and never too crowded for you to be told to wait or a forced«I am so sorry.» The service friendly. The kabob or the hummus or the pita always fresh… more rice… fluffy and not sticky… cascading from the fork… a white billowy sight to enjoy… the smell and slickery taste of olive oil… passing… like the cars in traffic by the windows… I have eaten with family, and with friends and alone… with white wine or sangria or water… flawless… consistent. Same… and in a hectic life… valued.

I came here with a friend and we absolutely loved the food! We came at happy hour for half price apps and thoroughly enjoyed the falafel. The chicken kebab platter was very fresh and flavorful. Definitely will go back next time I’m in Tampa

We recently had a chance to host an event at Kurdi’s. It was a great chance to bring a group of friends in for a sampling of their food and drinks. Their team was so great and accommodating, not to mention the food was delicious. We got to try their Fattoush Salad, mixed grilled platter, Chicken Shwarma wrap and grilled Moroccan lamb. Everyone was blown away by the flavor and presentation of the meals. We stayed after for another drink and decided to try their Sweet Potato Maple Cheesecake. It was amazing! Not too heavy with plenty of flavor! Owners Shannon and Heveen definitely know what they’re doing! A definite go to when you’re in downtown :)

Kurdi’s was very disappointing to say the very least. I had gone with a group of colleagues last week to try this place out. The restaurant is small, probably seats about 35 people or less. The menu is also small but interesting. The portions are tiny & prices were HIGH. We all left feeling hungry & our bill was about $ 25/per person! Ridiculous! The food was good but not impressive by any means. Our server also seemed disinterested & was never available. We kept trying to flag him down or going up to the bar area just to get things like extra napkins or refills. I wouldn’t come back here again or recommend this place to others. Not worth the price for what you get.

Décor: Excellent Service: Friendly, and well informed. Food: Lentil soup– nothing exceptional. Moroccan lamb– perfectly cooked and interesting flavor. Undercooked rice. Decent salad… Portions are small, so don’t worry about gorging on the calories!

Excellent staff and interesting clientele. We sat outdoors. I ordered fried shredded beef plate. The salad that came with it was very tasty with artichoke hearts and olives, and the beef was perfect. My husband had the beef wrap. There was a singer and guitarist playing nearby and they were good as well.

I was in Tampa for a quick weekend getaway with my girlfriend, and stumbling upon this restaurant was our best experience of the stay. We were looking for something quick to eat before heading out for a night of fun. We were drawn towards the restaurant by the sound of amazing live music. When we arrived they told us they had recently revamped the menu through a new chef, and they were having free tastings with sampling of wine and beer. After the samples, we decided we would sit and enjoy the music for an hour before they began serving dinner(they were not serving until 8 that night). We then ordered the calamari and falafel for appetizer and my girlfriend ordered the lentil soup. For entrees, I ordered the beef shawarma and my girlfriend ordered the lamb chops with scallops. Let me preface this with stating that I am half Lebanese and have had my share of Mediterranean food in my day. Best falafel and shawarma I have ever had. Moreover, when I saw my girlfriend’s food I was almost jealous I didn’t order the lamb, until I realized just how excellent everything was anyways(lamb and scallops were impeccable btw). For dessert we had the chocolate moose cake with Turkish coffee. Delicious. And the greatest thing is the prices were miniscule for the quality and portions of the food. Not cheap, but way more than reasonable(1 soup, 2 apps, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 7 alc beverages, 2 coffees, and a hookah for about $ 120). Service was great as well and the server was very nice and attentive. The chef came to the table after the meal to check to see if we enjoyed the meal, and I did my best to let him know he is an excellent chef. I hope they continue to hire that musician so everyone can have the exact perfect experience that we did!

Stopped in for dinner. Had the lentil soup and meza platter with hummus, falafel, and babaganoush. Soup was delicious. Great flavor. The platter hummus and babaganoush were fresh and perfectly spiced. The falafel could have been one of the best I ever had of it only had a little more salt. The consistency, look, size, smell was on point however it tasted as though no salt was used. I may have returned the falafel but just used the yogurt sauce and hummus to give extra flavor. Pita bread was light and slightly toasted. Friend loved her beef and rice dish but sadly I cannot remember what it was. Service was excellent.

Adding another star based on my last experience here a few nights ago(Friday, September 12th). My server was Nicole. She was friendly and smiled throughout the duration of my visit. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter which comes with a house salad and a choice of one side. I was pretty hungry so I asked for two sides and Nicole was able to make that happen at a very reasonable cost. She was very attentive and efficient. I enjoyed my meal. The chicken slices were thin and tender, the salad was fresh, and the hummus complimented everything, including the white(basmati?) rice. Rice was thin and cooked well. The garlic sauce that comes with the chicken shawarma was very flavorful. I got lucky because for a second Friday evening in a row, it was nice and a bit breezy in Downtown Tampa which is why I chose to sit outside again. Keep in mind, outside seating is not blocked off so you’ll have people, sometimes in crowds, and sometimes with pets(puppies, dogs) walking by. I don’t mind it, but some people may find it distracting, perhaps more so for couples on a night out. For dessert, I went with the baklawa(arabic pronunciation). You get three pieces for $ 5. These are shipped from a vendor, but tasted well and had a nice blend of flavors. I’ll always prefer middle-eastern baklawa over other versions. It’s not too rich and each bite has just the right amount of crunch. In addition to baklawa, they also serve gelato, cheesecake, coffee, tea, and… fresh mint lemonade. I’ll have to try that(mint lemonade) next time. Sounds and looks deliciously refreshing. I spoke with one of the co-owners and learned from our conversation that Kurdi’s will begin to serve a variation of ethnic foods in the near future(in addition to their current Mediterranean menu items). Pretty exciting! Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you, Nicole!

I reserve 1-star reviews for restaurants that literally sicken me. But Kurdi’s is just slightly better than nauseating. I had two things: the baba ghanoush and the falafel sandwich. Neither was good. The worst, the baba ghanoush tasted carbonated, which left me feeling pretty confident that it was fermented. I rarely leave food on the table; this was one of those occasions. I next had the falafel sandwich. On the plus side, this didn’t taste rotten. Still, the falafel was low quality and dry, and the other aspects of the sandwich weren’t any better.
