Update… I guess they changed the pastrami? It used to be lean and thin sliced, now it’s thick and fatty — not a good thing for pastrami. Oh well, there’s still lots of good food to choose from!

First time eating in at Jason’s Deli! I LOVEIT. It gets pretty busy during lunch time due to the location, but the food quality and service is great! I went for the salad buffet and my husband ordered the New York Yankee Sandwhich. I love the salad buffet, i can create my own salad. You also get FREEICECREAM! Who doesnt like ice cream and when it’s free– even better!

Food tastes pretty good, good customer service. For those of you who need gluten free, they have a menu with options. I will definitely go back.

For a chain this place is delicious. I usually get the NY Yankee which is ¾ lbs. of delish pastrami and corned beef. A smaller pastrami other places costs a lot more. I wish they made fries, other than that, it’s a great lunch stop.

A very underrated little place in my opinion! This USF area deli always has friendly service in a clean environment. The quality of food is consistently good. There’s a large variety of menu items to suit all tastes whether you’re veg or carnivore, trying to eat healthy or indulge. I always get the tasty spinach veggie wrap and cup of broccoli cheese soup. Their broccoli cheese soup is the best I’ve had, even better than Panera’s! Its very thick and flavorful, and a perfect finish to my spinach veggie wrap. My boyfriend likes to get the Beef-eater with au jus sauce and kettle chips. The sandwich is generously stuffed with well seasoned fresh roast beef. He pairs this with French onion soup, his favorite. Their desserts are good here too; they offer fresh baked cookies, cheesecakes, carrot cakes, and free soft serve ice cream!

Love Jasons Deli and this one really disappointed! After the cashier informed me she was sick but she had to work… at a food place I should have turned around then. My pasta was really undercooked. After returning it for a replacement I was told all the pasta was from the same bin so there wasn’t anything to do about it. I then told them I would take a refund. No apologies. No offer to try anything different. I’m not sure if they have new management but I hope they improve and fast!

Very disappointed today with salad bar at Jason’s Deli. Cucumbers and peppers were frozen. Items not very fresh and not as much to choose from. Club sandwich was excellent. Will not get salad bar again.

When I eat here, it’s for the fabulous salad bar(and If I wasn’t constantly on a diet, I would say that when I eat here, it’s also for the free soft serve ice cream machine, cones, and chocolate syrup when you dine in!). They have a lot other stuff on the menu(sandwiches, soups, creatively stuffed baked potatoes), I just can’t tell you much about them. This is another place near USF that is *very popular for lunch; parking is a biotch. But the salad bar is worth it. Fresh ingredients, a great assortment of veggies, the best ranch dressing ever… I would pay a little extra for a dollop of protein on the side(tuna salad, chicken salad, chopped chicken or steak), until then I’ll stick to several hard boiled eggs on the side(for a while you had to ask for them when you placed your order… they seem to have returned to the bar recently). Here’s a tip for the penny pinchers… you can order a «one trip salad bar» for a slight discount(a buck, maybe a little less); the plate is a little smaller, but more than sufficient to satisfy even the hungriest… I never go back for a second plate anyhow.

I’ve been to this location several times and the quality of the food is consistent. They have a great salad bar for all of those whole can appreciate a large variety of quality toppings. I’m very picky with soup and will not regularly order it out, but every soup I’ve tried here has been spot on. I recently had their lobster chowder and was expecting little to no lobster in a creamy soup, but I was very excited to find large pieces of lobster, including half of a claw in the soup. These are the kinds of the things that will keep me coming back again and again. They also have a large selection of sandwiches and paninis, I’ve tried about 5 of them. The flavors are very well balanced and always fresh tasting. It gets really crazy around lunch time, so be prepared for the line. If you’re in a rush, just get the salad bar, you won’t be disappointed.

Jason’s Deli is my new lunch addiction. Set up cafeteria-style, it’s nothing fancy but I really do crave their awesome, healthy salad bar!(The salad bar is the only thing I’ve had here, thus my review is just based off of that). For $ 8, you can eat as much as you’d like from the salad bar, which they keep constantly clean and very well stocked. Aside from your typical salad toppings like mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, they also make their own potato salads(2 varieties), an Asian slaw, some sort of edamame/bean salad, and quinoa salad. They also have mini-mini muffins(about half the size of a typical mini muffin), and they are really tasty. Tons of salad dressings to choose from, as well as some dessert options like cottage cheese, a fruit salad, chocolate pudding, banana pudding, and I can’t forget to mention the soft serve machine! What is also really nice of them to include at the salad bar is a calorie listing of everything at the bar, if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s just nice to know sometimes! A great quick, clean, and healthy lunch option if you’re in the area!

Jason’s Deli has been around for oh my gosh probably about 15 years now. It is located on Fowler Avenue west of the mall on the north side of the street and a shopping strip center. This place is always, always bustling with people. During lunch time it’s almost impossible to find the table as students are sitting at them studying or on their computer or doing whatever it is that they’re doing. The thing I like about Jason’s if they have a wide array of sandwiches with different breads and meats and cheeses, fresh salads in a varying degree of items offered for a salad and several different soups that well, maybe we’ll get some cold weather soon. All of the food I’ve had here has been really pretty good. I didn’t have any major complaints to send anything back but I don’t really have any raves. The quality is good and some of the sandwiches and soups I’ve had have been very good. I guess comparing it to some other delis in Tampa he Carrollwood deli or to J or Wright’s gourmet it’s just very very different. Maybe it’s not the New York 5 of a deli that I’m used to. Even though its always got people and it’s quite hectic it just I don’t know, somehow it just doesn’t feel like a hometown deli. I like Jason’s. But jasons is not a deli that I would go out of my way to have a meal at as there are delis that I prefer over Jason’s. The fact remains that Jason’s is a good deli it’s just maybe not 100% my first choice in delis in the Tampa Bay area. What’s a girl to do? When you’re craving corn beef and Swiss, you gotta get your fix.

Food is always good at Jason’s deli, but I was a bit put off at the fact that they offer a USF student and facility discount, in addition to a senior discount, but not a Military discount? I agree it’s up to the business on what discounts they want to give, but I didn’t expect a snarky remark from the teenager running the cash register when I inquired. I assumed they offered a military discount since they offered it to a lot of other demographics. So thanks to all the vets and active military serving out there, but you can expect to enjoy the good food at Jason’s deli for full price when you dine.

The salad bar is tremendous. For $ 7.99, I did takeout and they gave me a «big ass box» to put as much as I wanted in the container. By the way, those were the exact words of the cashier when I asked if I could do the salad bar to go. He was extremely accurate. Found no lack of freshness in the items and was extremely impressed with the selection. Apparently they tried to pull hard boiled eggs recently, but those are back out there after objection from some nearby USF employees. I really liked the whole green olives, that Asian slaw(Anna M. would insert a joke there) and their unique spin on potato salad. I would endorse the wonderful Unilocal Elite Diane G’s suggestion of adding a little meat to the mix as well, as some sliced chicken or ham would be sensational. As usual, timing is everything as some of these places. I was smart enough to attack the salad bar just after 5pm on a Tuesday when they were not as busy as they always get in the lunchtime window. Employees were not only helpful, but had a good sense of humor too. So, just watch out for the guy behind the main counter who looks like Shaggy from«Scooby Doo.» This plaza just needs a second exit onto Fowler Avenue. There’s no good reason why a plaza this large cannot have a second way out. Whomever designed that traffic pattern NEEDS to go back to USF for additional schooling.

Jason’s Deli was a lunch staple for me while I was attending USF. You can only stand eating at the cafeterias and on-campus restaurants so many times before you get sick at the thought of it. Fortunately, Jason’s Deli is a very short drive across the street from campus. The food has been fresh and flavorful every time I’ve been. The Southwest Chicken Chili is by far my favorite menu item. Usually I get the manager’s half-sandwich special, so I order a cup of that with a half turkey and cheese sandwich. It’s the perfect amount for a filling and delicious lunch. You can either choose a soup, salad, or fruit bowl. They offer a ton of other options, but I always stick with that ol’ faithful. I think it’s great that they offer so many healthy choices and display the nutritional information on their menu. Another great perk is that USF students get 10% off with a student ID. You can also get a birthday freebie if you sign up for their emails. If the discounts don’t entice you to try Jason’s Deli, then the free ice cream should seal the deal. If you’re looking for a place that’s going to blow your mind, this isn’t it. But it is consistently good food and I believe that makes it worth a try.

I was hoping that this place would WOW me but it just didn’t. I ordered the nutty mixed salad as well as the caprese panini. I feel as if I could have made the same exact panini and salad at home and even better. Yes, they were good but they weren’t amazing. I feel like my order tasted just regular, if that makes sense. Would I order from here again, most likely. I only recommend this place to those who are in the mood for fresher than your average sandwiches.

This place has been my «go-to» during my time at USF. It’s close to campus and has healthy options. My absolute favorite when dining-in is the salad bar. You get a plate and are allowed to load it up yourself. So many options! When you are done, you can exchange your«dirty» plate for a new one and head back to the salad bar. Also, free ice cream. The only downside is that this place fills up quick around lunch time(which is evidence of how good they are) so show up before the rush or after to avoid the wait.

Jason’s is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Tampa Bay. The one word that comes to mind is Consistency. JD is neither great or bad, it’s just very good food and always fresh. Lunch or dinner it’s always worth the visit. The salad bar is reason enough to try JD. There’s a little bit of everything. Spinach, Olives, Beets, Broccoli, Pasta, all kinds of dressings, I can go on and on. I’ve tried every soup on the menu. They are all very tasty. The Gumbo is probably my Go-to soup. Give me a Soup & Salad from JD and I’m a happy man.

I finally made to this place because the one on dale Mabry(that is now closed) had weird hours. The atmosphere is huge and a little intimidating when you first walk it. They have a salad bar AUCE, and lots of soup & sandwich varieties. I had a half Ruben with cream of broccoli & ordered a regular Jason’s something with pecan braised pork. I would definitely rate this place with two $ because I walked away spending $ 19 on these two items. Granted they both came with a tiny bag of chips and baby pickle, plus one drink, but still a little pricey as the sandwiches weren’t very big. You can definitely feel this is a chain, but the sandwhiches were actually pretty good. The few drawbacks do not out way their friendly and fast service with quality meals. You should give this place a try.

Always come here hungry and leave full and satisfied! Great, affordable prices for a lot of food. Lots of salad bar options, pastas, soups, loaded baked potatoes, dessert items, and super sized sandwiches. Also free ice– cream with your meal! I’ve also tried almost every soup besides the chills and they’re all delicious. It’s fast casual so no waiter service. You order your food and they bring it out to you in less than 5 minutes, depending on what you get or how busy it is. Great customer service as well! I recommend the Cali club, beefeater, and the lite plain jane(add chicken!).
