I came here for my birthday. I came for the free Grand Slam meal. The server was really nice. But it was a total of 30 minutes for my meal. It was super crowded. I was able to sit right away, but either way I had to wait 30 minutes just for one meal.

This location was right in the middle of a remodel so we had a couple challenges but the food was still good and the staff very friendly.

Beautifully remodeled. Very comfortable environment. Excellent service and the fit slam was very good and quick. I would have preferred the turkey bacon cooked longer but overall, a very good breakfast. By the way, they have two TVs on the wall now.

I recently relocated to the area in May. I have been eating here pretty consistantly since then. I have never been disappointed or unsatisfied by the food or the service I have received. From the looks of things, the restaurant has changed hands recently and the new owners are starting to spend some money to look better. It definately has been improving over the last few months. I have been seeing changes in staff, the overall friendliness of the restaurant, and most importantly… better food has been coming out of the kitchen.

Denny’s was always the late night stop for us after a late night in my late teens early 20’s. And it still the same. Went to this one for an early pre-meeting breakfast with a colleague. Food was what I remember. 2200 calories of goodness(didn’t care about that 20 years ago). Had the grand slamwhich and it was great. Restaurant needs some updating, duct tape in holes on the seats, old paint, etc but still a Denny’s all together.

There was a time when friends and I would end up here for that standard late night/early morning breakfast after boozing at the Bennigan’s just up the street. That Bennigan’s is long gone(Although Danny the bartender STILL works Friday nights at Eats American Grill on South Dale Mabry!) and so is the era where my friends and I stay out that late. And, let’s just be honest, this Denny’s is in a rough location where you have to be on alert for some questionable human beings hanging out around that street corner at Dale Mabry and Spruce. Day or night. Motivated by a TV commercial promoting banana bread french toast, I called this store on the way home and a really nice lady who sounded like the manager graciously took my take-out order for that grand slam. She had it ready for me as I walked in the door around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, showed me all items to make sure I had exactly what I wanted(ALWAYS the right touch for those of us who pick up food often) and cashed me out promptly and with a smile. Considering I hadn’t enjoyed traditional Sunday brunch fare in awhile, I was really looking forward to this and everything included did not disappoint in temperature and taste. The french toast was particularly delicious. Sure, it is «only» a Denny’s, but it was a good meal for the price and I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn’t given some lame and usually bullshit sob story about needing money from some stranger on my way to and from my vehicle.

My fork was dirty with jelly, the 2nd half of my food came when I was done with my 1st half, some type of substance was on the outside of my juice glass, and since you have to pay at the front counter, this took over 10 mins with a small line due to an incompetent person manning the register. During this 10 min wait, I left my party to use the bathroom. Both stalls were unusable and had to use a nearby gas station bathroom that was way more decent than this restaurant’s.

When my mom came to visit me from PR for christmas, we came to eat breakfast here like 4 – 5 times in 2 weeks. We decided to come here because it was emptier than IHOP. She had breakfast from the senior menu which was a great portion for a great price. I Built-my-own Slam: Egg white(2), Eggs(2), Hash brown and(2) Buttermilk pancakes. I know most people rave about IHOP pancakes but these taste friggin’ delicious too !! I did notice that the prices at Denny’s here are slightly lower than Denny’s back home in PR(and that’s a PLUS!!). My mom did miss drinking natural orange juice, i do NOT care for the coffee(i usually look for strong cuban coffee) and it could be cleaner. I have seen complaints on how they take long to serve but that has not been our experience… our hot and delicious meal would be served in 5 min(which i found freakishly fast), but this may be because we came here early morning on a weekday! Only once did we get there closer to noon on a weekday and we did have to wait around 3 min to be seated, which isn’t bad at all. Would i return to this Dennys again? Probably during a weekday morning… it is the closest breakfast place right next to my fiancé’s job.

Why 2 Stars? Took 45 minutes to receive our food! Came here on Christmas afternoon. Surprisingly we were seated quickly. Waitress took our order and brought our coffee & juice in a few short minutes. Then the wait began. The front of the house managed themselves very well, they informed the dining area after 30 minutes of waiting that the head cook had left after we were seated. 45 minutes is way too long for eggs and pancakes. 1 Extra star was given for it being Christmas and a friendly waitress.

Quick, simple and cheap. Lots of breakfast-all-day items with seasonal specialties, like pumpkin pancakes and red velvet nuggets. Nothing terribly exciting or horrible. interior has seen a lot of wear and absorbed lots of aromas. Convenient basic food but in an awkward location for getting in and out on busy Dale Mabry.

This Denny’s is sooooooo gross! If you look around you will notice cobb webs and dust balls. The décor is old and needs to be upgraded! The customer service was good. The food was ok… Could have been better. I think because the restaurant was so gross I couldn’t enjoy my breakfast. If it is gross where you eat I can’t imagine what it looks like in the kitchen. Yuck!

Service was great! But the place is in need of a huge makeover. Just old. Food was served quickly for breakfast on a Sunday. They were full, but we were seated immediately. Quick in and out on our way to the beach. I ordered the country friend steak. Too thin and over worked. But the morning after drinking, it hit the spot. My gf got a skillet. It looked really greasy and she didn’t feel well for the rest of the day. I think she regretted it.

Great service and food. I had the eggs and country ham with hash browns. I ordered the eggs over medium and came out perfect. The servers kept my coffee cup full without having to ask. It’s in a pretty decent location I bet they do a lot of late night business.

When visiting Tampa we frequently stop at this Denny’s for breakfast. Today might have been the last time. It’s dingy. Service is so-so… I love the Hobbit themed menu items. If only they tasted better. I had the«Hobbit-Hole» breakfast. I asked for the eggs medium, one was overcooked, the other was VERY overcooked. How can a breakfast place not know how to cook eggs? My co-worker had the Hobbit honey-cake french toast. It was awful. He let us all try it. Even an employee said it wasn’t very good. Not a winning menu item. The bathrooms are frightening. There were cobwebs… the whole thing needs a good scrubbing and repainting. And one soap dispenser was out, the other took a lot of waving to get it to dispense. Not good. There was something suspicious dangling from the ceiling at the top of a column in the dining area. That was creepy. So, hopefully not going back. Way better breakfast in Tampa.

I come to Denny’s often and the food is always good as well as the service. I come late night right after the bars close. I have a Town Car Service so its fits in perfectly. My favorite server is Matia. She’s the best. Matia always greets me with a smile and knows exactly want I want all the time. She is a TEAM player and a Five Star server. I also like to recognize two other individuals and they are Joe McFadden(manager) and David Buchanan(chef). Both of them are a great team together. When I walk in I enjoy having David prepare my meal for me. He has that special touch. Joe is also a good chef and a great manager. So when you come into Denny’s ask for Matia and make sure that David or Joe is there to cook for you. You will not be disappointed. Tell him that DANTHECABMAN sent you.

I know, Denny’s. But I suddenly had a hankering for some pancakes because of a scene I had just watched in the cable TV series, «Breaking Bad.» The two meth cookers were eating at a Denny’s in the TV show. So, I had to, and this one was the closest. The pancakes were pretty good. The sausage and bacon were fine, and the scrambled eggs were extremely yellow, which made me think there was something artificial that had been added. Denny’s food is neither great nor terrible. It will suffice for when you are in the mood, or there is nothing else around. My main complaint about this one is that it is seriously filthy and in desperate need of a facelift. There’s dirt in every corner. The wallpaper is coming off the walls and hanging. The carpet is, well, let’s just say nasty. I didn’t dare go in the restroom. Please renovate this outpost, Mr. Denny;s.

Denny’s is one of those places you go to remind yourself of the days when you were old enough to be out partying with friends but not old enough to drink and it’s all that’s open at 2 am. I went to this location after attending the Metal Mayhem concert and I was dehydrated and covered in bug bites and thought why not add diahrrea to the list for tomarrow. I ordered the only thing at Denny’s that I can bring myself to eat which is the SUper Bird drenched in ranch dressing. It was as expected. the service was nice and the water glasses stayed refilled. the only complaint I would have at this location would be the amount of time it took to get our check.

I have been to sevIeral Denny’s locations in Florida and everytime I give 3 stars but this one is a little bit of a disspointment. The waitress service was good although food was not the right order and did not came out at the same time. The quality of the food was lesser than what I’m used to at other Dennys, which is a little sad for me because I usually like their food. I do hope that the chef was new and the food was just off that night, since this location is the closest from my work and my friends and I often have late night munches after work!
