Charlie’s Pizza & Wings

I am new to the area… well I don’t if that legit I have been here for a year. Any who I have been scouring the earth in Florida lol for a favorite pizza and wing place sadly this won’t be it. Well not favorite status not that I wouldn’t come back. So my issue is the pizza maybe had a smear of sauce. It was basically cheese and sauce this can be fixed next time I ask for more sauce. It was very garlicy I think I read that. So we got pizza and wings. I am used to wings being deep fried naked and then while hot rolled in a buffalo wing sauce. I specifically asked the guy that took my order said yes but it really didn’t seem this this was the case. The wings didn’t really have much crisp to them. The sauce they were rolled in was odd. It wasn’t a pour liquid like kinda sauce but maybe something dry based. I could be wrong. Again none of these are deal breakers. Just FYI.

I had the wings and a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. DELICIOUS!!! The pizzas coming out of the oven looked and smelled amazing! This kitchen was very well organized and spotless. This is the perfect place to stop for take-​out on the way home. The owner was a real down-​to-​earth guy who strives to please the customer. I highly recommend!

There alot of places that claim to have the best wings in town but after eating wings at Charlie’s Pizza & Wings it’s hands down no contest Charlie’s is at the top. I went there with 2 other buddy’s and we loved it especially the levels of spice. The waitress for our table was very friendly as well as the other staff that assisted us. Clean and great atmosphere with a patio.

Don’t order when you are hungry, order a couple hours at least in advance of when you want to eat even then, good luck. Stated 1 hour when ordered then after waiting an hour and a half I called to see if they had missed my order. The lady that answered the phone was not the least bit polite and told me immediately that she had just checked and it had only been an hour since I ordered and the driver should be there any minute. I quoted her the time and she comes back with, and what address was that. I of course am like, you just argued with me on the time of the order but you don’t even know what order I am calling about? Seriously? You are being both rude and a liar. I used to love this place despite the pies being overpriced and skimpy on toppings mainly because the owner is a good guy. I am sad to say after years of dedication and talking their pizza up this may be my very last order. The deliver time has been sliding south of acceptable lately and the product not what it once was. Finally got a delivery and it was 10 minutes short of 2 hours, pizzas were cold and when I mentioned it to the driver, he laughed about it. Yep, I’m done!
Sorry Dave, don’t know that I can justify overpaying for skimpy toppings then have to deal with a rude liar and overly long wait times. Good luck!

The pizza is nice and garlicky, the wings are nice and crispy, and the Itlaian Ice is something I always get everytime I order. When my girlfriend and I first pulled up (her being from NY) she mentioned it looked and reminded her of NY. Definitely one of my personal favorite local pizza joints.

08/21−06:13 pm. Placed order 1 Large pizza, 1– 2 liter soda, Wings, Cheese fries and beef patty total price as told on phone $ 34.72. At 07:11pm missed call from Charlies pizza 07:13pm I called Charlies and was advised no beef patty they would fix bill accordingly. 8pm Delivery driver shows up with bill stating $ 42.68 This is unacceptable on many accounts it’s bad enough to be almost two hours late but wrong price is not good either. Person working the phones stated to driver to tell me to sign and they would fix it later. I asked driver to take food back and I would not sign receipt. Called Charlies and was asked what was wrong with the food was told they would call back after talking to the manager about my charge dispute. After not hearing back from charlies and noticing card was pending the $ 42.68 I had to call bank to get issued refund and never heard back from anyone at Charlies. This was a horrible experience and will not be doing business with Charlies again and wanted to advise potential customers what they could be in for.

Been here a month with my family and this is the first pizza place we tried. Not only are the pizza and wings delicious, but the guy running the place was genuine and friendly. The only thing I wish they had is fountain drinks for dine in customers.

Enjoyed going here with my family. The pizza was really tasty. The crust was so good. The owners were very nice and made us feel welcome. We got Italian ices for dessert and they were soooo good. They have a nice list of flavor a. They also have homemade cannolis which I am going to get next time.

Small place in which is set up to to be a ‘Take Out’ place?! Good pizza & wings however, due to it’s size they don’t have a restroom to use (they offered me a sink if I wanted to wash my hands)?!
The place was very clean & well organized! My family and I enjoyed Italian Ice.

We tried this place today the steak and cheese was awesome only thing put way to much mayo otherwise great tasting. The Italian ice is amazing if you haven’t tried this place check it out!!!

Awesome NY style pizza and great wings. Excellent service and great food, couldn’t ask for anything more.

I have to say, this place is pretty good. Their cheese and pep pizza is kind of the same as everything else, although the cheese is a little more tasty, however, the wings are by far my favorite. They’re always prompt, polite and food is always hot. I absolutely love their hot and BBQ wings. I have, however not tried any other pizza besides your basic pep & cheese.

Great place to bring friends and family, the pizza here are very rich in flavor, I myself love the meat lovers pizza it was amazing and the wings are incredible I would differently be going here again.

Just order pizza and buffalo wings very good! Have not found a good pizza place in Tampa but have to say they were great ny pizza for Tampa fl. Pizza is delicious ! Will be coming back!

Charlies has everything I expect from a NY pizza but what makes his pizza stand out for me is that he personally makes each pizza, wants each pie to be consistent so nobody makes them but him. Another perk is that Charlies gets real NY knishes shipped in from Coney Island. He showed me the box! He also makes great zeppole and his own Italian ices. His wings are great too but that’s another article.

Pretty tasty pizza, and was able to order a pizza tonight at last minute, and they were willing to accomodate my order. Alot of places would tell you that you were out of luck. Been coming here repeatedly since I moved to Carrollwood last August and the pizza is consistently good. Give it a shot!
