Caribbean Delites

While checking in to our hotel this event, my wife asks the concierge if there are any good places nearby for dinner. As luck would have it, she pointed us to Caribbean Delites. For those who have never tried real Jamaican food, do yourself a favor and go here.
Our meal started off with a couple bottles of Guinness Extra Stout a simple, no-​frills side salad (the tomatoes were excellent) and a beef patty of better-​than-​usual quality. My wife got the curry chicken while I went with the jerk chicken. The curry chicken was well-​balanced and a delight to sample. The jerk chicken was, in my humble opinion, mind-​blowing! The jerk sauce was perfectly balanced between heat, sweet and savory, with all spices working together and none in particular stealing the show. The chicken itself was fall-​off-​the-​bone tender. All I had to do was slide my knife along the bone and all the delicious meat came right off. A final work on the chicken: it actually tasted like chicken, unlike many places that use bland meat.
Finally, the staff were wonderful! We must’ve spent a good 20 minutes talking with the owner about Jamaica and where to find the perfect patty (hint: go to Kingston and look for Tastees).
