I’m writing this short review based on my experience on a busy Friday evening. The service was really poor and our waiter didn’t really care much about attending us between our order and paying for it. I love baked wings and that was the main reason to be there. It took 45 minutes for them to finally get the wings and pizza on the table. Still the wings were burned, dry and inedible. As no one was there for us to tell our concerns, we left after having the pizza which was a decent pizza.

Deliscious specialty pizzas. Eggplant Marino is my favorite as well as the wings. If you go by yourself or just 1 more guest, I recommend sitting at the bar, specially if Michael is the bartender.

Great pizza, and to much of my surprise, possibly the best wings I’ve ever had. Anthony’s is known for their great pizza so I don’t need to tell anyone about that. But I decided to get their wings on a whim last week and now I’ve already gone back for more! If you don’t like onions, be sure to tell them to hold the onions from your plate

Our favorite place for pizza and the very best wings. Nice wine list and beer selection too.

Delicious oven baked wings! They come topped with lots of caramelized onions so if you are ordering them for kids be sure to have them put on the side or ask for none. We ordered them for pick up because the parking at this location is very limited. If you are ordering pick up be sure to ask to pay by phone and then call them once you arrive at the restaurant and they will bring out to your car — no need to hunt for a parking space.

Tried this place for the 1st time. Went with my family. The kids didn’t want pizza they got wings we just were prepared for the mountain of onions that came on top. The wings were good just not in my opinion kids approved. The pizza was good as well. We had meatballs as sort of an appetizer which were AMAZING! They would get a 5. The drinks were bottled with a cup of ice. Service was good not anything to spectacular.

We’ve eaten here before back in the days before I was a Unilocaler and always enjoyed it. The thing that’s set this place apart from the rest of the pizza bistros in the little details. Try the marinara with all its subtle tastes. Try the coal fired wings covered in rosemary and Carmelized onions. The pizza we enjoyed with pepperoni, mushrooms, ricotta cheese, and prociutto that’s not overpowered by any of those flavors or sauce. It all a smooth tasting transition. The sauce gives you little hints of sweet basil, oregano, onion, etc but none is a stronger flavor than the next. With so many establishments just dumping a can of tomato sauce it’s refreshing to experience a pie with a flavorful sauce with some love out into it. The difference from our past visits to tonight is now this place has been discovered the yuppies feel the need to bring the kids to an adult restaurant and let them run around and«express themselves» unsupervised. Its inspiring to see the coaches sitting at the bar slamming beers while holding junior in their laps. Keep it classy dad. It’s killed the romantic flare once experienced here. Don’t they have a chuckle cheese to bring your boisterous and unruly little league to? It’s not the kids fault it’s on the parents that have no concern or respect for anyone but thier self important lives. On a high note, we got to meet and chat with the proprietor, Dara and her best bartender and assistant Zach. Good people that are passionate about the customer experience and you can tell that they like and care about what they do. We will be back again soon. Great food and a great staff.

This place is amazing and I can’t believe I’ve missed out, so many years of crappy pizza when this place was there all along. Get a regular cheese, the sauce is perfect, still can taste the tomato chunks, just sweet enough, the cheese is the perfect combo. All the ingredients do the honors of being on that amazing crust that has been charcoal grilled. The crust is great perfect chew, plenty of flavor. I think we also ordered a salad to start, honestly everything was great including ambience and service. My dad isn’t a big fan of pizza(I know it’s hard to believe) and he still raves about it, we’ll definitely be back!

Being from NY I expect good pizza that being said, this place is OK for what it is. I must admit I am not a big fan of coal fired pizza, however… There pizza has a tendency to be soggy at times, also and probably my biggest issue with Anthony’s is that the sauce is lacking seasoning. It does taste like quality tomatoes however its bland… very very bland.

Amazing pepperoni pizza, massive selection of local draft beer(12 on tap today), nice atmosphere, convenient location, and super nice servers. Our server Michael was incredibly knowledgeable about the beer, which was very helpful when selecting from all their options. The pizza was perfect with super high quality ingredients. The cost for a large pie to feed two people past the point of fullness, two beers, and two slices leftover was around $ 33…which is a great deal for a wonderful meal and tasty craft brews.

Our second time visiting this place, love the atmosphere, the music playing in the background brings back good memories. I had the ricotta and meatball pizza and it was awesome; my wife had the Philly Cheese pizza, I didn’t like something in the flavor of it. The wings are awesome. Great service too.

From the moment I first tried a coal fired pizza, I was in love. Anthony’s mimics that amazing crispy crust with their«well done» pizzas down here in Florida. I’ve been going to this location now for years. My wife and I went on a Saturday night, and this location lives up to their other location in both atmosphere, and quality of food. They have a fair selection of craft beers and wine, and have several different options for Happy Hour that I am definitely going back for. These included ½ price craft beer on Mondays and Tuesdays(all day) and Friday nights, as well as other specials during the week. We ordered the wings, which if you have never tried, are an absolute must. It doesn’t matter if you think you will have too much food when you get a pizza after it, just take some home with you. These wings are fantastically seasoned, come smothered with onions, and a few pieces of flatbread. They are not what I would consider a wet sauced wing, but boy are they delicious. The coal oven really adds a unique flavor to all of their food that you just don’t find other places. As for the pizza, you really can’t go wrong. Everything from your standard pepperoni, to a cauliflower pizza, and in between are available. I’m a meat pizza lover, so anything there is good in my book. The«well done» pizza they serve is just that. The crust is crispy, and the edges are black from the heat of the coal in the oven. It does not have a burnt taste to it though, and the ingredients, especially the sauce, all taste quite fresh. Do yourself a favor, and break out from the ordinary pizza place, and try this when you are in the area. I know I’ll be here on a regular basis.

Undoubtedly a hotspot for those working nearby in the financial district — don’t let this put you off, as it’s a very nice place to eat(inside and out), reasonably priced with a decent selection of food on offer. The staff were attentive(even though they were busy — I think the place is always busy — be prepared to queue for a table) — always a pleasure to find staff who are interested in what they’re doing. Recommended — try it our.

Very good pizza! We ordered the traditional salad and traditional pizza with mushrooms and sausage and everything was delicious! I will definitely return to this restaurant in the future.

Coal fired pizza is a concept I don’t remember from my New York routes. That being said, Anthony’s pizza has been a long time local favorite. Today, I had the roasted cauliflower pizza. It looked burnt but was pretty tasty. I enjoy the crispy crunch of a coal fired pizza as a change to a traditional on occasion. A bit over priced, but good pie when you are looking for a change from the multitude of pizza places. A solid choice.

I went to Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza expecting an utterly delicious pizza after hearing a lot about it. However, I was slightly disappointed with the pizza. We went during lunch time and were quickly seated and presented with the lunch specials as well as the regular menu. We decided to just go ahead and get the regular large Philly Cheesesteak specialty pizza. Service was very good and our waitress was very sweet. The pizza arrived after 15 or so minutes and was rather large. However, I was expecting more from a specialty pizza(especially considering the price for it). The only toppings on the pizza were steak and onions. When I think of Philly Cheesesteak, I also imagine green bell peppers on there, which were absent from the pizza and would have made it taste less bland and much more flavorful. While the quality of the pizza was good, the taste was a little unsatisfying. I do appreciate the large portion of the pizza and the service but I will not likely be trying the Philly Cheesesteak pizza again. I think I’ll dabble with the lunch specials and create my own customized pizza instead!

First visit here and I must say it was delicious! Plenty of different items to choose from like sandwiches salads wings pizza etc… It being my first visit I decide to try their pizza. I had Italian sausage with mushroom and I must say it was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The whole staff at this location were very friendly as well. They do have a few tv’s inside along with a nice bar area. There is also some outdoor seating that’s pretty nice. One thing I must say is this restaurant was extremely clean inside. You can tell the staff here do a very good job at keeping things clean. another thing I thought was really cool is the different pictures on the wall gives the place a unique look. They play a variety of music inside witch gives the place a really cool vibe. All in all just a really nice spot and I will definitely be going back. When your in the mood for some really good pizza don’t go to Pizza Hut or some other chain. Give this place a try you’ll be happy you did.

When’s the last time you sat at a bar in a restaurant and were offered food samples during Happy Hour? I don’t think I’ve ever had this happen in Tampa Bay, until this Anthony’s location did it on Tuesday. Tuesdays are generally one of my favorite days if I have an Anthony’s craving, since they do half-price drafts and carry Peroni… but now they throw around some free food too? Considering all the delicious options I’ve enjoyed at any Anthony’s over the years(Pizza, Eggplant Marino, that hot roast beef sandwich, meatballs, wings), it has always been a sure thing to me. Now that I’ve met Dara who manages this location and Jackie who tends bar, it will be tough to keep me out of here on Tuesdays for multiple reasons. In a previous post about Side Splitters, I openly questioned why anyone attending a comedy show would order food there. Considering Anthony’s is about 102 steps from the front door, that makes it a no-brainer in terms of having a quality dinner from an actual restaurant before or after someone like Gary Valentine mails in another set to pay his bar tab.

Oh shit y’all. Hooooooow have I missed this place for SO. MANY. YEARS?!? In one fell swoop it has usurped them all for the Best Pizza in Tampa Bay belt. The crust is thin and crispy and so good that I actually eat the crust. I EATTHECRUST. I don’t think you understand. I have never eaten a pizza crust in my 25 years(okay okay okay, give or take a few years) of life. I made that crust my bitch. RIP pizza crust. Can’t wait to devour your family. We got the foccacia to start. Bomb. I got their traditional pizza(bomb) with mushrooms(bomb) and arugula(meh, I was feeling adventurous) and extra pizza sauce(bomb) on the side. The pizza sauce is soooo good. Rich, deep tomato flavor. Not sweet, not too many spices, not too tangy. Just perfect. The cheese is awesome, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been pissed off by rubbery pizza cheese, both in flavor and texture. This cheese has a delightfully salty flavor, not too greasy, and perfectly stringy and melty. Basically, they knocked it out of the park. Nothing beats a coal fired pizza. Mmmm, char.
