SHEILA Oberveich has changed my life. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone, as I have. I was going through the worst year if cystic acne. And out of desperation one day my mother called her and set me up an appointment. I went there within 20 mins and she has helped me solve the problem. When I do have flare ups she does everything she can to work me in and help me out. I will never see another dermatologist!!!

I was not overly impressed with my experience with this dermatology office. I saw Dr. Maria Hicks at the DeLeon location. Dr. Hicks had a nice bedside manner and seemed pleasant in general and answered some, but not all of, my questions. I felt a bit rushed and although I mentioned some things of concern to the doctor, I realized after our appointment that she had never answered those questions.
Upon arriving at my exam room, I asked how long it would be before the doctor would be with me. They stated Dr. Hicks was with one patient, had a second patient to see before me, so it would be «about 10 minutes.» That gave me the impression that appointments in that office are streamlined, with patients pushed in and out the door quickly. That impression translated to reality, as the doctor did not spend much time with me.
I was there for a full body exam, plus freezing some precancerous spots. I have been to dermatologists who provided more education and advice with regard to how to take care of one’s skin. I did not receive any of that from this office or this doctor.
As I was leaving, an assistant put a new sheet of paper over the exam table, but did not disinfect or wipe down the table in any way; all she did was pull up the roll of paper and put new paper over the exam table. This concerned me, as it did not seem hygienic. So it did not seem like the cleanest place to me.
I went there because it is the only dermatologist nearby that is approved by my healthcare provider. I would look elsewhere if I had better insurance. Patients as people and their individual needs or concerns did not seem like a priority in this office.
