Well, it’s not 1978 any longer. Sure back in 1978 when you drove a Trans Am with the T-tops off and hung out in the parking lot at Taravella High School as a jock after the football game… and went out for pizza… this was your place. And, if you go back today — you will see that the décor is likely the same as is the pizza apart from the quality. About three years ago, I was consistently getting takeout pizza from this place. At that time, the quality was good and the size of the pizza was also adequate to feed 4 people. The chicken parm dinner was usually to die for. a couple of years ago. Which brings us to today… last night when I order just one large pizza and garlic rolls… and measure of quality came to a sad end. I picked up on time… and knew I was going to have a problem because the box was lukewarm. Errr. how is that since I just picked this up after making a call 15 minutes ago? On my way because I have to go feed people watching the game… open the box at home and you guessed it… the pizza is about a 1⁄3 smaller than it used to be for a large with at least a 5 inch gap between the edge of the pizza and the side of the box. Now this size will feed my one 12 year old with his appetite. Not 4 people. Starving people will eat anything… and they said they liked it… however, I had a taste and the bottom of the pizza was soggy and the toppings were thrown on it in a mess. Cheese was hanging off the side like it slid off. A large pizza and one order of rolls was $ 23.00 … that is not cheap considering what I got. This place is out of my neighborhood and not a place I am going back to again… no matter how much the guy who used to go to high school in 1978 tries to convince me to go there and pick up an order. So plug in your 8-track in your Trans Am and drive it on over past Taravella to Pasquales and get some really good pizza on Royal Palm Blvd.

This is a neighborhood favorite for pizzas, calzones and hot subs. Also, they have a great early bird special between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. You can get garlic rolls, soup or salad, entrée, and dessert for the cost of the entrée… which is usually under $ 15. On our last visit, hubby and I also ordered a carafe of red wine and we had a great dinner. Our entrees were the Chicken Marsala and the Chicken Parmesan.

Horrible Service. We ordered two early bird special and it came with salads. There were two early bird salads and one extra. They didn’t come out until after our mediocre meal and they claimed that they were«making fresh lettuce.» Since one of us was full already after the meal, we took the extra off. Desserts came with the special and we got cannolis to take home. The very nice waiter said that he could give us one for free, so we took him up on that like any person would do. Our server gave us the check so we could pay upfront with the cashier. My 91 year old grandfather went up and payed. The rude and ruthless manager yelled at the nice waiter for giving us that free connoli because of their mistake. My grandfather really didn’t know what was going on and went with the flow. We ended up paying an extra $ 5 for the cannoli. When we went back home, there were only two cannolis. These cannolis were supposed to be free and included anyway because we got two earlybird specials. They took advantage of my grandfather and ripped us all off. NEVERGOTOTHATRESTAURANT!

The best pizza I ever had in south Florida! Tastes just like NY pizza! If you live in south Florida you must try it.

The food was okay but the service was ridiculous. It was very dissapointing. I was here once before and really enjoyed it. I wouldn’t recommend.

I have been to this place over 100 times since my family moved to the area in the 1980’s. It has beena while since I have dined in or taken out from here though. Well, my children now got to experience it this past week and it was great! We ordered out over the phone for pickup and the time given was fine. We got a large pizza half pepperoni half sausage double sliced and eggplant parm sub. Everything was cooked nicely and tasted fresh. I really enjoyed the thin slices of eggplant and the bread that it was served on. I am not sure when I will be back, but I know where I can get some delicious Italian food.

Very long wait for the food and around 30 minutes just to get our drinks to the table. It wasn’t even crowded for obvious reasons I now understand. Ordered a pepperoni pizza. They brought a cheese pizza by mistake. Instead of cooking a fresh pizza, they simply added pepperoni and cooked it more. It was very very burnt. No apologies or an offer to not charge us for it.

We ordered from here last night. We figured we had a good experience with this place the first time. The one thing I ordered and oh so love were the garlic rolls with a pizza. The pizza was cold and the driver forgot my garlic rolls. So the driver stated he would be right back with them and a half hour later I received cold, burnt and hard as brick rolls. I was a upset. I would have called to complain but was afraid I would get something more than garlic on my rolls for complaining. So I let it be.

Awful neighborhood fare. Caters to the Seniors crowd and the local neighborhood folks ooking for a quick bite. Pizza so heavy that when taking it out of the oven it bends the baker’s equipment! Early bird special is great for the seniors as all meals are $ 9.95 or less including salad or soup and very heavy/doughy garlic rolls. Not sure if the little dish of ice cream comes with the meal as we wanted out quickly! Yuck!

My parents have probably dined at Pizza Stop well over 250 times since 2001. I’ve been there maybe 35 times to dine in but have taken their pizzas to go at least 80 times since 2007. I cannot give them 5 stars because for Italian food only Fra Diavolo in Lauderhill & Poppy’s takeout in Sunrise deserve a perfect rating but they do make one of the better cheaper pizzas. I get it with extra cheese though as, like most Florida pizzerias keeping prices low, they scrimp a tad. Service is usually great but now & then they get a bad employee who does not last long but I always get plenty of garlic rolls & refills. Sometimes, if not too busy, I will special request the chef to make the filet of sole oreganata not on the menu. It is delicious and I go to town after devouring it by dunking 4 or 5 of their large house garlic rolls into the sauce. It’s special request and several $ extra but well worth it to me. Runs about $ 16 but sometimes they charge me an extra #1 for asking for the spaghetti with garlic & oil but still well worth $ 17 for a delicious meal. They tend to fry the garlic on the light side but I ask for it crisp & the waitress knows I am fussy & will give it back if not fried to perfection so she makes sure it is! But for ordinary sit down dinners on the early bird with dessert, coffee, & salad included it’s a decent deal. So is nearby Anna’s. Depends what you like. I wouldn’t drive here if you live more than 5 – 10 miles away but for south Florida it’s just a decent local shop. When I want to spend a little more & travel a tad further, though, it’s Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza for pizza & roasted wings to me or Fra Diavolo for the best Italian entrees in Lauderhill. I’d give Fra Diavolo 5.5 stars if I could, Poppy’s 5 stars, & Pizza Stop 4 stars. Note, those are Florida standards — not saying any of them compare to the best of NYC Italian. Fra Diaviolo has resemblances to Fiorentino’s(Ave U) & Carolina’s(Coney Island yesteryear) and it is great but it still misses from the Brooklyn all time greats by a notch. The early birds are a great value here. Very good garlic rolls on the house & I always ask for another order. Salad, dessert, & coffee are included. Their cheesecake is my favorite & I get that with coffee.

From the moment my fiancée and I arrived, we were sitting for 10 minutes waiting for a server. Once this un friendly woman decided to take our order(because we weren’t there to eat or anything) we waited another 20 minutes or so for our salad and rolls. She finally shows up(after we asked her twice for rolls) with 2 rolls on a plate. We look around the room and see other patrons with a basket of rolls and we have these 2 only. We sat there and waited… and waited… and waited… for our dinner(almost 45 minutes) and finally she decides to drop off our food on the table and run away(she must have had to use the restroom). My fiancée asked her kindly for more garlic rolls with our dinner and she proceeds to bring us this«lonely roll» on a plate.(almost like it fell off someone elses basket of rolls)
