As with the other reviews, the ambiance in the melting pot is pretty nice. The service was great, although it took about 20 minutes for or waiter to get to our table. He was very nice and provided us with a detailed breakdown of how the menu works. The cheese fondue was pretty good, but I don’t think it’s worth 9 bucks a person. The entrée was okay, but something about cooking my own meal at a restaurant isn’t very appealing. We also got the chocolate fondue, which was probably the best part, though it didn’t blow me away. I couldn’t justify going back here with the prices. If you’re into cooking your own food, having to select similar cooking styles/ingredients as your date, then this place is for you. I, however, will not be back.

Visiting on vacation, and a friend brought me here. The staff were as pleasant as can be, and the food was some of the best i’ve ever had. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

It is always a treat to celebrate my birthday here! Of course, we like to visit several times during the year and food and service is always good. Service was good this time but it appears that our server was also taking care of a large party so we did have to wait a little longer than usual near the end of our meal. Still, overall, it was wonderful and we look forward to another visit!

Overall, our choice of the Melting Pot for a dinner celebration couldn’t have been better! First off, because it was truly the highlight of the experience, our waitress Molly treated my girlfriend and me to some of the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. She was super attentive and friendly, making us feel like we were her only customers. We could chat and learn all we needed about the menu from her, since she seemed to have every ingredient memorized. She was simply the best. The fondue experience was a new one for me. I had always thought of it as fit only for a wedding(think chocolate fountains and strawberries), but I was pleasantly surprised. The spinach artichoke starter, caesar salad, cajun plate, and ying/yang dessert were each well prepared and delicious. The portion sizes were perfect it seemed and I went away full, but not stuffed. Yet, as a warning, this is an all evening kind of meal. We spent about 2 – 3 hours eating, since each course does take a while, especially since you cook it in the fondue pot on your own. So as along as you are prepared to sit back, enjoy your meal, and carry on conversation with your table, the Melting Pot is the place for you!

I popped my Melting Pot cherry here. I loved it. We had a sweet server named Sammy. All the customizable options were overwhelming, so I went with the Melting Pot favorites. I will have to say(as I’m sure everyone else does too), the dessert was the best part of the whole experience. Give me chocolate fondue any day and I’ll be your best friend. Cute place to go on a date, anniversary, or reunion. Too expensive for just a normal dinner.

This is definitely a favorite of my wife and I. We love the intimate atmosphere and the fondue style eating. It can be a bit pricey so we normally go on special occasions but I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

The best Melting Pot we’ve been to in the Southeast. Great quality food and relatively quick! Our waitress Tear was extremely friendly and was more than happy to accommodate my picky requests. We will definitely return to this location in the near future. Also, if you aren’t putting the garlic-wine seasoning on your veggies and salad, you are missing out — big time!

Great time at Fairytale Fondue with my girls. Our server was tied up with a large table so the manager filled in while getting everything started. Great teamwork! This was the first fondue experience for my daughter and her best friend(aged 10&11) and I think they set the bar high.

The Melting Pot is a romantic dinner destination. It wouldn’t occur to me to just«pop in» for a non-event meal. Everything about the Melting Pot(in my opinion) caters to «The Date» and the lighting, seating and general mood/ambiance supports this priority. There was a time(in the VERY recent past, mind you) that I would have grumbled and muttered that this was a total scam — a rip-off — something that one could do in the comfort of their own home — for ¼ of the cost.(Not very romantic, huh?) The whole point of The Melting Pot is to impress your date and to create an intimate experience in which, together, you’re preparing your meal and if you play your cards right, will save room for«Dessert». Incidentally, the dessert course AT The Melting Pot is entirely decadent. So — curmudgeons need not venture here. Consider The Melting Pot to be where Cupid hangs out.

I’m embarrassed to say that before last night, I had never been to The Melting Pot! I’m glad to say that I’ve now experienced the melty goodness, and had a great time doing it. I tried 3 of the cheese dips, and they were my favorite part of the evening. The bacon/brie combo ended up being my preferred cheese, but the cheddar combo was a close second. The entrée portion was a fun experience as well. They explain everything about how to properly cook each type of food so that you don’t end up eating anything undercooked. I was really lucky to be able to try three of the cooking styles — oil, mojo, and coq a vin. The latter won me over. For vegetarians — there is a Good Earth platter that a member of my dinner party opted for. I was a little jealous of all those veggies, raviolis, and tofu that she got to play with :)

I’ve lived in Tallahassee for 5 years and have always heard great things about this place, but never tried it until last night. I’m definitely upset at myself for not trying it any sooner! The dining experience reminds me of Chinese Hotpot or Korean BBQ style eating, but where you dip/cook your meal in a shared pot in the center of the table using metal skewers. I had the opportunity to try their steak, chicken and shrimp. I love their fried shrimp and chicken in a tempora batter they create themselves. My favorite is cooking the steak and mushrooms in this red wine broth they have. I highly recommend saving room for dessert. Their chocolate and white chocolate dip is to die for! You have options of dipping: pound cake; rice krispies; coated marshmallows; brownies; cookie brownies and more! Also my favorite cocktail of theirs is the«Whiskey Thistle».

Outrageous and exciting in the best way posible! What I loved about this aside from the top notch service(Great job travis and everyone) Was all thats left for the imagination. The divine selections of freshly pre-seasoned raw meats has you left with alot of room for interpretation. I was dippings and a batterings and a brothings and a deep fryings up a storm! Stuffing mushrooms, stabbing carrots, savoring suculance! I could not be more satisfied. This is the place to get your fondue tippy toes wet. I must say there was a favorable tap dance on my tonsels! Ohh and they have an awesome signature cocktail there… «Whiskey Thissle» made with muddled raspberries and lemon. Yummers!

Update to my review: although this scenario actually took place and we can’t go back and change it, we were pleasantly surprised that the manager of the restaurant reached out to us personally to apologize and invite us back for another meal. I’d say they went above and beyond. They could have ignored the review, but they took it seriously and want to improve their business. That’s integrity and honesty. Thank you Sean for caring how your customers are treated.

Melting Pot definitely lived up to our expectations. Fondue is a ton of fun, but also a safety hazard and the wait staff took extra care to make sure that we knew how to enjoy our meals without burning anyone. I liked being able to make a reservation and being seated right away. You definitely don’t want to come past 8PM if you’re hungry because if you have 3 courses you’ll probably be there a while — my party of 4 took 2.5 hours for a cheese, entrée, and chocolate fondue. Because the prices were so high, my party only purchased two servings of the cheese and chocolate fondue each which was more than enough for all 4 of us(and great on the wallet considering each serving was $ 8.50). We tried the Wisconsin trio for our cheese and though the cheese was delicious my palette must not be distinguished enough for the sherry base — overall it was much too bitter. Dippers includes some fresh veggies(cauliflower, broccoli, and grape tomatoes), as well as green apples, and sourdough bread. We all tried different entrees so we could do a kind of sampler — chicken dumplings, duck, chicken breast, and teriyaki steak all cooked in the chicken broth with veggies(free option!) Melting Pot also serves six delicious sauces to use along for dipping: teriyaki, orange curry, cocktail sauce, green goddess(which is some kind of sour cream base), yogurt base, and some kind of plum sauce. The chocolate fondue was probably my favorite part. We got the one that was dark chocolate and came with Oreos, marshmallow fluff and lit on fire for an added effect. The dippers for this are not unlimited like they are for the cheese, though. Those included: pound cake, graham cracker coated marshmallows, Oreo covered marshmallows, pineapple, strawberries, and bananas. The wait staff was very friendly and professional and didn’t make us feel pressured to get more servings for our table. The lighting is very dim and again you will probably be there forever. One tip is that any pot you get has to be decided on as a table i.e. The same type of cheese, chocolate, or cooking broth for entrees must be decided together because there’s only room for one pot per 4-person table. I would definitely recommend if you don’t mind spending the extra money — great experience and great food!

From the very moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a friendly smile and I was wished happy birthday by the hostess. That was a GREAT first impression. When I asked directions to the restroom, she offered to escort me to the hallway so I wouldn’t get lost. Just really going the extra mile. Valerie was our server and she was extremely pleasant, informative and attentive without being«in the way». She made great suggestions on things like entrée prep/oil and when she mentioned she was adding garlic to the cheese fondue, we told her we love garlic. So, she added more for us and then added more again for the entrée without us even having to ask! She provided exceptional service and you can tell she loves her job(which can be rare these days!) The manager/owner stopped by with a birthday card that was signed by several employees and that was such a great surprise! Again, he had a big smile and we felt like very important guests. The food was awesome. My husband’s favorite entrée protein was the steak and while I also love the steak I am now hooked on the salmon. We went with dark chocolate/marshmallow/Oreo for dessert and it was AMAZING!!! Even when we headed to the door after our meal, the hostess opened the door for us. So, great first impression and great last impression and everywhere in between! Great job, The Melting Pot — Tallahassee! We will be back for sure!
