Nice location with plenty of comfortable seating. Drinks were a little pricey, but well made. Their French 75 was delicious and they have a good selection of beer and wine.

I believe Fox & Stag to be a very accommodating addition to the Midtown area. There have been many changes in the Midtown bar scene over the years, with changes still coming to fruition. What to expect here are a number of things. First, a fantastic menu gripping tightly to standard cocktails i. e Manhattan, Old Fashioned, etc. Secondly and most importantly, the cocktails taste excellent. The Old Fashioned provided the kick in the ass you’d expect, but I was overwhelmed with the flavor and consistency of their Whiskey Sour. Top notch. The bartenders are definitely trained well and can craft cocktails at ease. I think maybe once they’re a bit more refined with handling customers at the bar, this will turn into the place to be. Also, check out some of their choice beers; five on tap and five bottled offerings. Fox & Stag looks appealing while providing a cozy atmosphere. They have a piano stashed in the corner, so we’ll see if they begin to embrace a «piano bar» vibe. I’m very content after my first visit. Be sure to check out the new face on the block.

I’m sure the drinks are great here, but I wouldn’t know. It took 10 – 15 minutes of standing at the bar and no service until we decided to leave. It was a Saturday night but it was still not incredibly busy. We’ll try again someday, but not a great first impression.

Fantastic beer selection with old world décor. Authentic prohibition style furniture and design. The best ever leather seating and intimate lighting. The beer selection was high quality and affordable. Will return will update!

I stumbled upon this place while walking toward one of the more established bars in the neighborhood. It was better than I’d hoped. It’s in the same location that Alchemy used to be. It has a similar vibe and menu, but without the silly rules and rituals. Inside is brighter than it was as Alchemy, due to a couple of TVs and a-bit-too-much lighting behind the bar, but it’s still dark enough to suit the mood. There are large, comfortable booths and seating on the patio out front. There’s a piano inside. The music was appropriately loungey, jazzy stuff that got louder as the night went on. The bar staff is well-bearded. Most patrons were relatively well-dressed. Lots of dresses and OCBDs but nothing fancy. They make craft cocktails and serve craft beer. I asked for a gin cocktail and got a Tom Collins. It was good. Two cocktails and two beers only cost $ 21 — I wonder if they forgot to charge me for something, but I didn’t ask. I’ll probably come back next time I’m in town.
