Best sushi place in town hands down!!! We come here all the time! The sushi is super fresh and the couple who runs it are super nice! Definitely a hidden treasure of Tallahassee.

In our continuing quest to try as many sushi places in Tallahassee as possible, we stopped in here for a late lunch and were very pleased. The lunch special we had of two rolls & a seaweed salad was tasty, well portioned and, for $ 10 each, fairly priced deal. The interior was immaculate with a truly calming décor. Actually would rate it the best of those tried this far. Nice, quiet little spot for a quick bite of reasonably priced, well made sushi.

Hid away in the corner of the shopping plaza, Sushi Tokyo’s outer appearance may not be anything to write home about, but the quaint interior comes as a surprise and the food was everything I hoped it’d be. Being a first timer, I ordered a roll, edamame and miso soup. The Shrimp Tempura roll was HUGE. It was cut into 10 large pieces, each bite filled with crunchy shrimp and topped with exceedingly necessary spicy mayo. The edamame were salty, crisp yet tender on the inside. The fairly basic miso soup was filled with lots of scallions and tasted just fine. No qualms here. The elderly woman who took care of me provided me wonderful hospitality. For $ 17 and leftovers, Sushi Tokyo will find me ordering takeout further down the road.

After a Tallahassee monsoon, the lights went out on the streets! this was the only place with lights at lunch time. The sushi here is pretty meh. I ordered a few rolls, including an Alaskan Crunch that according to the menu had Krab, Masago, scallions, avocado, «crunch» … I got Krab salad wrapped twice around with rice, that’s it… it had none of the mentioned ingredients. I couldn’t find anyone to ask and had to hunt someone to even get the check so I’m not sure what happened there. As other review mentioned the fish and other fillings in the rolls are quite scarce and everything is mostly rice. The other lunch item is a chef’s choice roll and salad and that seemed a better deal. There were a lot of rolls and there is a lot of rice so you will leave full. The service is very very slow, they do not have wait staff. So no one refilled the drinks and it took a very inordinate amount of time to get the check, then to pay and then to get it back. So be prepared to be there a while. The food was okay and the service was better than japanicas(but anything is better than Japanica…).but you can find better lunch around that area for even cheaper than this. It’s really nice inside, I hope they get their act together because there is no other sushi place nearby. :(

This place was awful. It’s no wonder people were lined up to the door at Chipotle and this place was a ghost town. I paid $ 13 for two sushi rolls that were mostly rice. The shrimp and Krab probably amounted to 2 oz. They also wanted to charge me $ 0.50 for an extra 2 tsp of spicy mayo. I passed. I usually go to MASA on N. Monroe but it wasn’t convenient. I so regret that decision but atleast now I know. I ordered a California roll and shrimp tempura. I don’t write many reviews but wanted to help someone.

Excellent rolls. Excellent service. But $ 12 edamame and a $ 5 Sprite? I just can’t get with that. Four rolls, edamame and a soda were $ 77 :/. Tallahassee has no shortage of sushi competition so this is going to be a problem.

No wait. Great sushi. Japanese versions of American music = quite comical. Great service.

I really love the food here! Good pricing for some good sushi. Such a shame that anytime I come in no one is really here. That’s almost a plus though – peace and quiet with your lunch. Definitely check this place out if you can! Not a faceless chain restaurant and is run by a family.

Excellent food, comfy upscale atmosphere. We had the Volcano and Crunchy Shrimp rolls. There was quite a bit of food for the price, and the prices were already very reasonable. Definitely coming back.

When we first got our menus I thought this would be a cheap place to get good sushi. They have a number of dishes the sound appetizing, but when they came out it was obvious the portion sizes were small and the food was overpriced. A lot of our meal was prepared in the microwave. Our specialty rolls were the size of rolls that you would normally get for $ 3-$ 4. They offer a dish called«wild» scallops that are basically three scallops the size of your thumbnail. I forget how much it was. Their plates, cups, and decorations also look like they were bought on a budget and don’t fit the theme of a sushi restaurant at all. The woman who waited on us was Korean and I believe the scroll painting they had on the wall was written in Korean as well.

Nice place and décor. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately they have a hard to see location. The tofu app was good. The seabreeze and salads were drizzled with sweet chili sauce. No ginger dressing option? Sushi was ver average. Volcano roll was ok. Shrimp tempura roll looked and tasted like it was deepfried for 2 hours, chewy.

One of the better sushi places in town. The fish and seafood cuts are superior to all the cheap places. Service is friendly and quick. Please ask the chief for specials and favorite dishes for some good choices.

I decided to try something new for lunch and dip in for a quick meal. I took a risk since I was the only one in the place, but the service was quick and the sushi was good given the cheap price. I could see this being a good cheap date place. Particularly for college students.

This place is located in a strip mall and has all the charm of a strip mall sushi bar. Not that’s a deal breaker but… I popped in here for a quick lunch. They have a lunch«special» which consist of a roll and a small salad for $ 6.99. The roll by itself is $ 5.99. I ordered the special with a spicy tuna roll, miso soup and a green tea. The soup was good, the salad was fine, the tea was fine. The quality of the sushi was pretty good too. My issue is that there was more shredded vegetables than tuna in the roll and there was no hint of spiciness. In all, I spent about $ 15 for lunch. Not too special of a price after all. The two star rating was sealed when I went to the restroom prior to leaving and it was filthy. The restaurant had fewer than ten people in for the duration of my visit, including me and a takeout order. There was ample time for proper restroom attention to be paid.
