Ok — this isn’t gourmet food and certainly don’t go there for the atmosphere… but a better value is hard to find unless you’re going to McDonald’s. The fish dish is awesome and the steak bowl deal rocks… the yumyum sauce alone is worth the visit.

Egg roll, veggies, beef and fried rice with a drink — $ 6.49. I saw then chopping fresh veggies in the back, however mine were a bit overcooked and not really hot. A dump in yum yum helped. I am not sure why but the beef tastes off. Not bad but the sauce it was marinated in was — different. The egg roll had a lot of black pepper and a bit overdone. The music was a nice soft romantic jazz, the floors and booths clean. I want to like this place… I really do. Maybe I’ll order one of the hibachi entrees to take home to the hubby. Maybe that will be better. I’ll let you know. Decided not to get the carry out and don’t think I’ll be back. The yum y sauce made everything bearable. Tiajuana Flats is next door. Head there instead.

Great value and good food. The bowls are simple combination of rice or noodles with a meat topping– steak, chicken, shrimp. It comes with a large cup of a sweet and creamy sauce, that seems a weird addition but it’s good.

Placed a phone order and the snotty girl forgot to give it to the kitchen. She said it would be five minutes. It took fifteen and they got the order wrong. When they eventually corrected it, slow as the movement of the tides, the food was absolutely wretched. I wouldn’t return at gunpoint. There’s a good reason why it’s always empty…

I am not going to say anything the others didn’t. This place is great both price and quality of food. I generally eat the chicken bowl and dump yum yum sauce all over it. There’s enough food it that one bowl for lunch and dinner. JUSTASGOODASOSAKA or MORI! This place is empty every time I go there, which always makes me think that it’s about to go out of business, so go there and make sure this great place never closes.

I was suprised that it was as good as it was. Not used to Japanese fast food, but I’ll bite. Everything we ordered was well prepared and tasty. I suggested you call ahead and check your order before leaving though. The staff were a bit spacey, but friendly. We will probably try again.

If you’re a fan of hibachi-style food but don’t care either for the same old show that you’ve seen at every hibachi restaurant(yes, I can see the butter fly — hilarious, a «butterfly») or don’t want to pay the price that comes along with«hibachi theater» then Samurai Express is the place for you. Like Brandon mentioned, the always-available Samurai Combo is a steal — $ 6.49 + tax for a portion of steak or chicken with steamed veggies and fried rice, an eggroll, and a drink. The«Yum-yum sauce» is your typical mayo-based hibachi sauce but no meal is complete without a bit of it drizzled on top. A favorite stop for lunch if you’re on the East side of town. It’s located in the Publix shopping center near the intersection of Capital Circle SE and Mahan Drive. Look over towards the Blockbuster/Tijuana Flats side.

Samurai, I wish I knew how to quit you… Not really, they are delicious! The samurai combo is one of the best deals around: meal, eggroll, drink for $ 6.49.

Samurai Express, Fast and Casual Japanese Food Although there is nothing Japanese about this restaurant, the Chinese influenced food is pretty tasty. Décor: There’s a very cool replica of Oda Nobunaga’s armor in a glass case when you first walk into the restaurant. The scroll inside is questionable. The rest of the décor is stereotypical Asian themed, not at all the feel of Japan. Food: Like I said, it does taste good, but it’s not Japanese. They offer«Hibachi Entrees», which come with grilled chicken or steak, fried rice, veggies and«Japanese Samurai Sauce». They offer them in «Geisha» or «Sumo» sizes. The steak is very tasty.(Samurai sauce is actually a very popular dipping sauce for fries in Europe. Hibachi in the US is actually Teppanyaki or shichirin.) The rest of the menu is egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoon, dumplings, «Katanas»(meat on a stick), salads, lo mein, fried rice, soda, tea, beer, saki, miso, crispy banana, cinnamon balls… Having miso soup paste, Kurin/Ichiban and some brand of Saki does not make up for the lack of Japanese food. The soy sauce packets offered are for Chinese restaurants, but Kikkoman is so– much better. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese food, you might want to hop on a flight to Tokyo. If you want some sort of Asian fusion with a very affordable price, you will probably like Samurai Express.
