All these good reviews are nuts! Y’all haven’t had good Southern barbecue. Smokin’ Lo’s is not good. Yeah the ribs fall off the bone which is nice but they are dry as hell. I’ve been driving past this place and smelling it for a couple of years now and finally had to try it. He clearly doesn’t really know what he’s doing well enough to have a business based on smoking meat. The chicken and ribs were smoked to hot too fast. The skin on the chicken was way too dark and had that acrid taste from being smoked too hot with too much direct heat. That’s also why the ribs are so dry. Also, the sauces come out of a bottle and the sides are store bought. There is more to setting up a bbq stand than throwing some wood in a pit. Smokin Lo needs to learn slow n’ low and hire to make some original sauces. I am only giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because he was nice and it was an interesting experience.

Food is DELICIOUS! This is my favorite food truck in the city! The ribs are delicious and the service is great. They’re pretty quick too; you can go there on your lunch break and still have plenty of time to eat and get back to work on time. Great spot!

Awesome ribs. Period. I saw the Unilocal reviews and had to try this place. It’s about a 2.5-mile trek off I-10, and well worth the stop. We were hoping to get some BBQ sandwiches to eat in the car on our trek to Orlando, but we had to improvise a bit. What you will get is an open-face pork rib sandwich, basically a few pieces of white bread with six huge ribs on top(bone and all), slothered with your choice of sauce. I opted for the spicy, and my wife and daughter had the sweet sauce. The sauce is very good… sticky and sweet. The spicy sauce was not very spicy, but still good. The sauce goes really well with the smoked meat. Enjoy breathing-in the smoky air while you wait for your order. The guys smoke the meat just right. We also ordered some fries. When they are fresh and hot, the fries are good. Once they start getting cold, they turn soggy. These are some of the best ribs I have ever had. A ton of meat for 8 bucks. I could only eat a few ribs and got stuffed. I picked the meat off a few ribs for my wife, who was driving. I am going to enjoy having rib leftovers tomorrow night. Although I enjoyed the food, it would be nice to offer a boneless rib sandwich on a hamburger bun, especially for the commuters passing thru.

For those of you lucky fuckers living in Tallahassee, you’ve got a real gem of a barbecue spot here. Smokin’ Lo’s! Incredible prices, friendly service, quick, pippin’ hot barbecue. Got all kinds, ribs, chicken, wings. Cash only. Don’t expect to eat here, as the truck does have a ledge but it’s not really ideal dining location on the dirt next to a busy road. Unless you want to pretend you’re in Cambodia or something. There is a tarp with some rickety dirty plastic chairs set out for people waiting. Definitely don’t expect to go to the bathroom. The closest one is a Dollar Store and the restroom, according to my friend, was unsavory to say the least.

I am a huge fan of BBQ and drive by Smokin’ Lo’s BBQ nearly everyday. Normally I go by at lunch time and as much as I enjoy BBQ, I don’t usually feel like returning to work after pigging out on a full rack of ribs. I understand that most people can control themselves and just have a nice lunch portion. I am not one of those people and usually spend the entire afternoon after a BBQ binge napping on the couch while my dogs lick the remaining sauce off my face. As I drove by the other day, I saw a sign that read«Garlic Crabs». I have never had garlic crabs, so I pulled a U-Turn and inquired. As I walked up to the window determined to order the crabs, the deep smokey smell of really good BBQ hit me and I buckled. Not only did I order the garlic crabs, but I also ordered ribs to boot. This will probably be my new favorite personal version of Surf and Turf. The crabs were divine. In a single order I received four large crabs steamed to perfection, soaked in butter and heaps of garlic. I also received a beautifully steamed red potato and ½ ear of corn. Everything was buttery and rich and amazing. If you like crab and you like garlic, and you don’t care that nobody will get near you for a day or so, then dig in and be happy. The ribs were awesome. Tender with a beautiful woodsy smoked taste that did not overpower the rich pork goodness. There are several sauces to chose from. I took the sweet and smokey sauce and it really suited the richness of the ribs. Moist, tender, smokey, and everything BBQ should be. The two men that ran the place were friendly and welcoming. Even the other customers waiting for their orders were friendly. I guess people waiting for great food tend to be in a good mood. There is a little outdoor area if you want to eat on-site, but I took mine home so I could devour it with reckless abandon. The smell of the food was so knee-buckling good that I barely made the short ride home without pulling over and pigging out. Overall an excellent experience. I love this place and will be returning often.
