Phở 7 has been around for a while. I’ve been coming here for years, and I’ve never had a bad meal. The food won’t blow you away, but to say the least, the phở is pretty good. I was surprised to see the place packed on a dreary, Monday night. The server seated me promptly, took my order, and I had a giant bowl of phở on my table in about five minutes. Pros: The broth was full of flavor and the spouts, jalapenos, and herbs were fresh. Cons: The ribeye and the brisket were slightly overcooked and the broth seemed to get oily toward the bottom of the bowl. Still, pretty good phở. I would like to make a note that the most consistent aspect of Phở 7 is the service. There are only two or three servers I can think of, but they have ALWAYS been super helpful, friendly and personable. Great job! I will continue coming here, in hopes to update my review.

I can’t even be generous here. The phở is the bottom of my phở list. I could honestly make better phở at home. I’m very picky when it comes to my favorite soup, and have been spoiled by other restaurants. The noodles are chewy and gelled together most of the time. The Broth is salty and tastes artificial, and the meat tastes like it’s been left too long in a cheap refrigerator. Every once in awhile I order the spring rolls because I’ve forgotten I dislike them. The pork is too heavy for the lightness of the surrounding ingredients. No balance. If you are unfamiliar with good Vietnamese food give the place a shot. It’s not disgusting food. It’s just not good food. Aside from the mediocre food, though the staff here is amazingly dismissive. I get most of them are young college students but it’s painfully obvious not a one is a passing hospitality major. They give you a half-hearted welcome and do exactly and just their job at no more effort. So disappointing.

I love all of the menu options! I feel like I need to come back in order to have the full experience. I ordered the chefs special(number 2) which is a spicy beef broth soup with all of the fixings. My only complaint is that is was a little too oily and I’m pretty sure the noodles are spaghetti noodles. It would be much better with vermacilli noodles. I can’t really speak for everyone else at my table. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. My friend is a regular here as so it looks like I’ll have plenty of opportunities to try other menu items. Im extremely interested in their vegan options!

We are pleased to see there is phở restaurant here, and the server Tommy is a great guy, but it doesn’t change the fact of that it is the worst phở I have ever tried… The meat ball wasn’t fresh but sour, the portion size was tiny. Lucky I don’t need to come back again!

First, I’m a faithful regular at Phở Me, however I was being lazy and didn’t want to drive the other side of town. I ordered phở with oxtails. After paying for my meal, the uninformed cashier, Angelenia, stated that they only had two of the three oxtails that came with the meal. She stated she would add additional chicken to suffice for the lack of meat. When the food was delivered, there was only one oxtail and limited chicken. When asked about the other meat, she stated that she told us that it was only one. When we corrected her, she said that she was confused. We were highly upset, because we paid extra for the oxtails, and she didn’t acknowledge that she messed up. Either way, we won’t return.

Ok so I wouldn’t call this the best phở in the world, but for Tallahassee standards… this place is pretty damn good. The service is always excellent and the prices are right. It’s a great place to get lunch if you are short on time. I read an earlier review that claimed Asian Rox is better. I wholeheartedly disagree. Phở 7’s phở is flavorful and their dry noodle bowls are also delicious. I love the seasoning they put on their chicken/pork dishes(I believe it is some variation of chinese 5 spice). Once again… this isn’t the best Phở I’ve ever tasted but beggars can’t be choosers in a place like Tally.

I know this may be a bit lengthy, but I want to describe as best I can with our experience at Phở 7. First of all, my family and I found this place by accident. Driving around TLH aimlessly, we drove past Phở 7. Being hungry and as a self proclaimed Phở eating expert, we decided to stop and give it a try.(it’s near impossible for me to pass up a Phở Restaurant!) When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the staff. They all looked so young! But no issues… yet. We all(6 of us) sat down and ordered the same thing(menu item no.7?). Our server was very polite and friendly. But the other staff. not so much. While we were waiting for our food, 3 of the staff members were sitting at one of the empty tables talking about how they couldn’t wait to close shop so they could meet up with ‘so and so’(was never good at remembering names) and get f@@ked up. Then they starting talking something about ‘running a train’ with ‘so and so’?? I never knew TLH had a train station. Good thing my 14 year old daughter was able to over hear their conversation as well(the place is pretty small and they were talking pretty loud) because she got the once in the life time opportunity to school to her parents on what this whole train thing was about. Then out of the blue, my youngest son, had a new found interest in ‘Thomas the Train’. go figure. Glad to see this place is so family oriented. Anyways, it took about 10 minutes for our bowls to be brought out to us, which I thought was pretty quick. When I first saw them carrying the bowls to our table, I was impressed! The bowls looked like they were fairly good size so I was expecting decent portions. but as it turned out, the bowls were only half full. The portions weren’t consistent either. We all ordered the same thing, but my wife’s bowl had significantly less noodles than mine. There was absolutely no consistency. As I’m sure most people are aware, anyone that’s eaten Phở before knows the standard fresh garnishes that’s supposed to be included(thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, coriander, and lime slices) Maybe this place didn’t get the memo. First, there were no limes and no coriander. I’m assuming they ran out? The stick of basil was wilted, and the bean sprouts were already turning brown. Also, there was six of at the table but the veggies we got wasn’t enough garnish for even one bowl. But it wasn’t too much of a concern as no one else at the table want to use the garnish besides me. Slightly aged vegetables never hurt anyone. right? The rice noodles were cooked perfect. No complaints there. As for the broth, I hate to say this, but it was subpar. It lacked that deep rich flavor that you get from Phở made from scratch and boiled for hours. The flavor of the broth was very bland and salty. as if it was watered down and reflavored with salt to make their pot stretch until they closed for the night. I’m not accusing them of doing that. but if I were a guessing man. I’m not trying to accuse them of faking the funk, but I feel the need to mention that I just didn’t think it tasted like authentic Phở that I’m used to. It wasn’t horrible my any means. don’t get me wrong. But it had this weird ‘instant’-ness flavor to it. which some people might enjoy. Like the way I absolutely love watered down buffet style mac & cheese! I don’t know why. I just love it! As for the meats, all the bowls had one small, and what I like to refer to as ‘sample size’ portions of each cut. My daughter started to eat one of the pieces of meat and noticed a rancid smell as she about to bite into it. I thought she was playing around because she was acting all weird. turns out she threw up in her mouth and decided to perform the re-swallow maneuver. Brave. Well. it disgusted everyone at the table so now no one wan’t their meats. Well that’s fine with me. load it up in my bowl. Slightly aged meat never hurt anyone. right? But I got to admit. it did smell a bit too rancid for even my liking. it smell like it was left out at room temperature alittle too long. anyways. Desperate to try and make the most of it and enjoy our dining experience. we starting finding some entertainment value with our sons new found interest in ‘Thomas the train’. but even that was short lived. a huge crowd of young & intoxicated college students(which became apparent they were friends with the staff) came in and completely ruined our entire evening. The entire place got out of control very quickly. There were a couple other patrons in the restaurant, but they all paid and left without finishing their food. The entire staff were hanging with their pals, dropping f bombs and other inappropriate language. I’m guessing they use Phở 7 as their gathering point before they board their train they mentioned earlier. Our fine dining experience at Phở 7 was a complete bust. The End

Ordered 2x extra meat. Very disappointing as the total meat quantity was about the same from any other place’s standard order. I inquired and was told that was 2x extra meat. Id hate to see the standard order. Ripoff. $ 13 for a $ 7 bowl of Phở. I will not return and do not recommend. Ive been to dozens of Vietnamese restaurants throughout North America and none had upset me until this one.

Their sign outside always reads something to the effect of, «Hungover? A bowl of our phở will help.» Honestly, a miserable alcohol-induced haze is the the only way you could enjoy their food. I walked in for pickup on a Friday evening, around 5:30. I found a small restaurant and walked up the counter, where I proceeded to stand for five minutes. With a dining room with 5 – 6 tables, there was nobody to be found. Eventually, I was able to order my food and received it about 6 – 7 minutes after that. Full disclosure, I absolutely adore phở. It’s my guilty pleasure and I eat it all the time. I’ve tried all the phở in town and I haven’t been wildly impressed by some of the newer restaurants — but this phở was downright awful. Insanely salty broth that tasted like a chicken flavored Ramen noodle packet. Half the portion of noodles you get with Far East Cuisine or even Phở Me. I had a single leaf of basil and some other herbs that had seen better days… days ago. My lime was so small you honestly couldn’t squeeze it — but the soup was hot. That’s the only positive thing i can drum up about this whole experience. Sadly, I won’t be back. A drive to the Far East Cuisine is worth it every time.

Phenomenal noodle house everything was excellent the broth was hot and flavorful the noodles were plentiful The only complaint I have is that I didn’t get very much meat but I did order the house special which came with a little bit of pork a little bit of chicken in a little bit of shrimp next time I think I’ll just get one meet, atmosphere is very very casual and low-key.

Amazing Phở !! Menu is incredibly easy to order from with speedy service and attentive staff. Highly recommend the Beef Brisket and Lean Cut Beef Phở and summer rolls for a starter(large portion). Order for take-out and have some at the leisure of your own home. Plus, bonus points: they are also very vegan/vegetarian friendly. I recommend the chicken phở for take out as the beef phở options send you home with raw hide.

Service was nice… even offered a hot tea cup to go. Tofu phở had minute amount of tofu that was cut thin and fried so hard that it made the whole broth a bit more greasy. They were out of limes(staple of Vietnamese food) yet there is a grocery store ½ mile away. However, I didn’t get to go back and get a chance to sample any of their other dishes, which people say are great.

I’d say this place is mediocre. The house special seafood phở was just OK and the accompanying veggies were not super fresh. Not sure what all the complaints about small servings were all about, li had a huge bowl that I couldn’t finish. A new twist on a fresh spring roll, broiled with pork. It was a bit salty and I must say I prefer a fresh roll with shrimp and herbs

I am coming back to up my review of Phở 7. Since then there has been two other phở places that have opened up and I have been disappointed with both of them. Asian Rox gave me overcooked noodles that were stuck together and mushy(their broth is still heartier though — so I am hoping that was a one-time issue) and Phở Me had terrible portions and VERY watery broth. I stop by this place at least every other week for the past year and I have never had inconsistent food — just slightly slow service sometimes if I am dining in. Take-out is a breeze. They also have grubhub specials that can make it very affordable(be on the look out!). Best phở in Tallahassee hands-down. Very aromatic broth with large portions and they are always willing to add extra veggies if requested.

I went in today to have a simple bowl of phở with my hubby because he got the flu from me and every asian knows the best thing to eat when your sick is a bowl of phở besides congee lol. When I went today I was a bit disappointed on two things, wait time and portion decrease. Although it was slightly busy the food took a while to come out from the kitchen. I would be understanding of this if the food is cooked from scratch and such but I know phở isn’t hard to make and most of it is basically premade earlier, and lots of ingredients are not fresh made at the restaurant(ex: noodles) etc. More importantly they decreased the meat serving and noodle portion quite a bit. If you look back at older pictures posted by other Unilocalers you can see the difference in presentation and portion size, especially in meat portion. Now that they aren’t the only phở place on this side of town and not the cheapest anymore I don’t have to settle as much. Asian rox has faster, bigger portions?(I think) and cheaper phở considering they have groupon and Facebook deals occasionally. And it’s closer to my home. Idk, I guess that will be next thing to figure out, who has the best bang for your buck phở in town. Oh, but the taste still tastes the same as always. Noodles not overlooked and meatballs thawed correctly and not cold in the center lol. The restaurant has good execution. It’s not homemade broth or anything amazing but still decent and tasty. Making homemade phở can stink up an apartment and is time consuming if you make it from scratch, so this place is a good option if you don’t want to make phở yourself from scratch. it’s not going be as tasty, but it’s more convenient. Even if you make premade phở it can stink up an apartment and if your like me and don’t want to have your place smelling like phở for days(it’s like making Korean BBQ or kimchi indoors), this place phở is decent and convenient. Overall it’s still a good place if you have a phở craving you need to get your fix with(it’s not amazing but good enough to fix your craving for phở) but now that their is another phở place on this side of town not to far away I’m not sure if it’s the fastest and best deal for your buck portion to price wise. I need to figure that out.

I had to up the rating to five stars on principal. The options are broad. Whether sticking with Phò or branching out and trying the Bún Cá & Tôm — you’re going to have a good meal. It has the feel if a simple diner, with Vietnamese music videos on a wall mounted tv. I dig it and love coming as often as possible.

Will satisfy your phở craving, but it isn’t the greatest phở you will ever have. The broth was good, but I didn’t favor the noodles or the meat. I don’t really have anything more to say. It was just okay. I would like to come back sometime to try their banh mi and maybe some other dishes.
