I like Roboto. The food is usually good, and the sauces make everything taste good. This particular location however falls short… way short of what I expected. Been there twice(to give it a fair shot) and i was disappointed both time. From portion size to food taste. Tennessee street one just does it better

If you want easy delicious takeout without a hassle, eat this Tallahassee classic. Samurai chicken with yum yum sauce always wins. Good quality, affordable, and clean dining area with TVs.

Had my worst experience ever here. Came here for lunch with my coworkers. The service was horrible. I ordered an orange chicken meal. My order was messed up by their waiter who was also a kitchen cook(idk why it was like this). So any way the cook waiter gets upset when he gets the order wrong and dropped rice on me. My coworker points it out and says it out loud and he doesn’t apologize or says anything. He stormed off with my salad and threw it in the trash. They then brought my coworkers fixed Neal extremely late. I will never eat here again.

I managed a Roboto’s location and having worked there for so long, it’s safe to say I’m kind of an expert on the menu. Although those days are in the past, I still find myself craving these Asian classics suited for us Americans. Hibachi — Chicken and Steak Teriyaki are the most popular and the most reliable. I recommend it with fried rice(soy, egg and onion) and grilled veggies(soy and garlic butter). The Shrimp and Mahi are topped with Samurai sauce(basically a bang bang sauce without the spice). Kitchen — Samurai Chicken is the frat boy classic. I’m more of a General Tso guy myself. Most items on the kitchen side are fried and are a little heavier on the stomach. If you’re hungry stick with this side. (Still) Kitchen — The Thai Red Curry is the most overlooked item on the menu. Spicy and delicious curry broth loaded with tender veggies. Order white rice with it. The Panko Chicken is my other go-to. Crisp chicken coated in panko breadcrumbs — comes with spicy mayo and it’s phenomenal. Sushi — it’s been a while, but the Hurricane and Tokyo Buffalo roll stand out. I’d recommend a sushi bowl, i.e. the Tuna Tataki bowl. Comes with avocado, sushi rice and creamy avocado slices. As I used to say, «Hang out at the sauce bar. It’s where all the cool kids hang out.» You’ll see why when you first try the Yum Yum sauce. I could make this review a hell of a lot longer, but I digress. For under $ 10, it’s tough to beat. Stay cool, Botos.

Visiting Tallahassee after going to FSU for 5 years, and the first place I went to was Mr. Roboto. I’m a huge fan of Asian fusion and Japanese food, and this is absolutely my favorite Asian restaurant in Tallahassee. All of the entrees are delicious and I would suggest all the varieties of chicken dishes they have available.

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu at Robotos! My personal favorite is the samurai chicken. Pretty good size portion too. Robotos is everything you expect from a local college town joint. Also a big fan of the volcano rolls!

When I first moved to Tallahassee the name«Mr. Roboto» was catchy for a dining experience. I have been to the one on Tennessee Street, but last night was my first visit at the Pensacola location. As soon as I opened the door there was not greeting from the cashier or any of the staff working at the front. Which I thought was odd since Tennessee location provided a warm and comfortable first experience when I visited with a few friends for dinner. I asked the cashier a question about the menu and all she responded was«I don’t know you have to ask someone else», correct me if I am wrong but isn’t a proper response suppose to be «I don’t know the answer to your question but let me go find a answer for you». There was no «How may I help you» or any type of good hospitality. No wonder there were only a few people dining in last night. The food quality was bad due to the temperature being cold. I ordered the Mahi-Mahi with double vegetables and although the staff brought the food to my table there was no «Is there anything else I could get you» or no check up on if my order was up to par. Unfortunately this will have to be one of my least favorite reviews based on many different factors as a whole. Truthfully I would not recommend this specific restaurant to friends for family. I am big on first impression and this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

The Hibachi Chicken. Good place to eat when you’re on a budget and want a good amount of food for the price you pay.

Go here and try all the sauces they are magical. Rumor has it the staff has to watch out for the fsu students trying to squirt as much as they can into tupperware containers to take home. I love sushi and this place does it well for Tallahassee. They also have a hibachi menu I have yet to try. I recommend this place for lunch more then dinner. It’s casual with outdoor and indoor seating!

There are three Roboto’s now — I think this was the first, but I’m not sure. Regardless. Good concept — an abundance of rolls from which to choose. I almost always go with the chicken red curry Thai hot. It’s always good. Those who’ve had the rolls say they like them. Roboto’s was the first place where I saw the«sauce buffet» so now, when I see that anywhere, I think of Roboto’s. This one offers outside seating which is nice because it’s often luxuriously(read«high utility bill») cold inside. Place your assigned number on the table and the runner will find you. Funky décor, uniformed staff, all-around good fun dining.

First time at this location and the food is still good quality, however, service not up to par with Tennessee Street location. I didn’t find it appropriate or appealing to sit and enjoy my dinner while listening to staff cuss up a storm. I understand their kitchen is open but if you’d like guests of all ages, I’d recommended cutting down on the amount of «f**k“s and«b***h“s you allow your staff to say out front.

The food is the bomb dot com! Personally I like this location more than the one on Tennessee st because the employees are nicer and the food is yummier. The thing that makes this place a top 5 for me is that it’s vegetarian friendly, The General Tso’s tofu is the best I’ve had in Tallahassee.

Service is TONS better here. See my review on Tennessee St location for more details on that. Quick and to the point, Mr Robotos delivers. I’m going to chalk my previous post up to user error because the hibachi hit the spot today. Clean, plenty of people to help and serve, plenty of seating(indoor and outdoor) and most importantly, plenty of Yum Yum sauce. Sure, the veggie mix is not premium grade local fare but if that’s what you want, there’s other places in town for that. Robotos does what they do and they do it well. Any and all previous complaints have been redacted.

If you’re ever jonesing for some hibachi but don’t feel like watching the whole song and dance routine or paying tons, Mr. Roboto is your place! Cheap and delicious! They have sushi as well as hibachi. Try the grilled chicken sushi and the noodles with steak hibachi. Very yummy and you can get lots of sauces to go with them. Bonus is there is a self-serve fro-yo store next door all in the same building and you get a discount there if you ate at Mr. Robotos. There are also 2 locations on either side of FSU so it’s convenient that you can call in your order and go pick up to take home or back to campus. If you want the big fancy hibachi I recommend Mori but just for the food to fill your tummy on a budget then this is your place!

College budget friendly americanized asian food. Famous for yum yum sauce. Casual. Cool décor. If you go to FSU you probably have been here or will go here at least once before you graduate because everyone talks about this place.

Best place in the world! You can never go wrong with the samurai chicken or shrimp. The sushi is also divine… well anything there tastes good if you dunk it in yum yum sauce. So cheap and so delicious.

I graduated last spring and I craved it every time I thought of it. I’ve tried everything on the menu and I love the salmon kobochi bowl. Delicious. Took my husband back today and he was happy and full. Definitely try the TNT roll & the Tokyo Buffalo roll. Cheap prices but the quality of the food is always incredible. I would recommend the tofu, chicken, hibachi, sushi, or sashimi. Also, spicy mayo all the way. You’re one of two kinds of people. Always be the spicy kind.(Boo yum yum sauce)

Stopped in for lunch on our last day. This place is amazing. You get freshly cooked food made Hibachi style. Favorite: Chicken Hibachi with double steamed rice. Huge plate for $ 7.95, very tasty chicken, large strips with Hibachi sauce over a large order of white steamed rice. Perfecto, so good and tasty. Of course no way I could finish this huge plate so hubby had plenty to eat later. Hubby had steak Hibachi, which is just as good, marinated, moist strips of steak with fried rice and a salad. $ 7.95 4 eggrolls, about three inches long, very small 2 for $ 1. No meat inside like normal eggrolls, just veggies. Light, flaky, crispy, oh what a treat with the all famous yum yum sauce… Kudos to you Mr. Roboto, you please every taste. Service= excellent.
