They are living on their reputation. Well designed menu and a lot of years in business. The lamb shank had exceptional flavor and was delivered to the table at a tepid temperature which took a lot out of the presentation. The veal wiener schnitzel was over breaded and soggy. Good flavor but not enough to overcome the kitchens lack of attention to detail. Should have been a great dining experience. Only average which a disappointing

Went on New Years Eve & they didn’t offer their full menu. Upon entering the restaurant had a funky, musty smell. Not the mouthwatering aroma of food that you would expect. The service was sloooow! The drinks were delish(watermelon mojito) & the food was good just not worth the +$ 150 we paid for 2 entrees &4 drinks. We chose this restaurant because it was next to our hotel & I wish I would have drove somewhere else.

Jenna our server was pleasant and our dining experience was very enjoyable. Two tired ladies and we enjoyed her humor, pace of service — with extra care hot towels and lemon after terrific stone crab claws to clean everything up as our meal progressed. The lavash is always delicious as were our meals. Thank you for your smiles and service.

Tonight my friend and I arrived at Georgio’s right as they were beginning their evening. We had worked all day and were tired and hungry. Jenna was our wait staff and we enjoyed stone crabs to get started, lavosh with tomatoes, The pecan garganzola salad with vineagrette dressing on the side, spicy shrimp appetizer and eggplant mousaka. It was all very tasty and fresh. Wonderful hot garlic rolls with tomato basil spread. We took lots home to eat later and that was perfect. The best thing about the dinner was how nice our server, Jenna was. Give her a raise!

This is a fun place for grown ups. I had the eggplant parm, and it was good, though the sauce was a bit too sweet. My husband had the snapper Augustine and loved it. Service was good as well.

HI Folks, just wanted to let you in on a little secret I can no longer keep to myself, «GEORGIO’S» This family has been successful in the restaurant business for over fifty years because of one consistent continuous theme: «FRESH» –Pasta: made fresh in house daily. –Seafood: Fresh local Black Grouper(the best). Fresh, genuine, authentic, Red Snapper(again the best). –Steaks: hand cut in house –Prime Rib: one of the most delicious in the Capitol City. –Stocks: made in house(who else is passionate enough to do this?). –Salad dressings: made in house –Bread: fresh from the in house bakery with a selection of spreads. –Deserts: «OHMY» and yes, made fresh in house. soooooo good. Beautiful dining room, beautiful full service bar, interesting local historic photography, clean comfortable seating. If your as passionate about food as I am, if you love to eat and experience wonderful flavors, «where shall we eat tonight?» is a question you will be able to answer without hesitation, «GEORGIO’S»

I’ve eaten in most of the better restaurants in Tallahassee and this place is the best. The atmosphere, service, and food are fantastic. I’m not easy to please because I’m a foody I can’t find a flaw. We had the rack of lamb and it was tender, seasoned perfectly, and melted in my mouth. You also have to try the baklava cheese cake.

People are who make experiences memorable. Settings are often secondary — and in many cases, directly influenced by people in the end. Attaining septuagenarian status is nothing to sneeze at. Attaining it while amassing a seemingly endless trail of notable accomplishments is an even more august event. For such an event — Giorgio’s was the place. The people I will focus on here are George(proprietor), Justin & Steven(servers) and the Herculean kitchen line(regrettably, I can’t provide names — but I can only envision an executive chef, a company of sous chefs, a pastry chef, a garde manger chef, and on and on. I’m realistic enough to know that it wasn’t that many people, but the execution tonight sure could have fooled me. I haven’t before mentioned this, as it’s been irrelevant, but 20+ years ago I was a young food & beverage manager at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, FL. I mention this only to lend credibility to the following. Bear with me… …There we were, a party of 16 descending upon the restaurant. There was no special(narrower choices) menu for us — it was all wide open. Everyone but the honoree had arrived and I saw that George himself was seeing to the logistics of the surprise. Taking such personal ownership of our event impressed me. Once the honoree came and after his duly surprised greeting, we all sat down. In the background, Justin & Steven were making sure we were all poured and satisfied. Drink orders were taken and swiftly fulfilled. An appropriate time passed before Justin asked for our attention while he ably and cheerfully covered the specials outside of the menu. He had a presence over the group that was service focused yet humbly assured — a presence that is commonly seen in establishments lauded by Zagat, Michelin, AAA, Mobil and the like. Steven was every bit cut from the same cloth but one of them had to take center stage and the coin flipped for Justin this time. Appetizers were ordered and delivered. Throughout, glasses were refreshed and plates were cleared/utensils replaced. All while barely noticing service presence. That is a triumph in itself. Main courses arrived — I certainly didn’t inventory the orders but I know they were wildly diverse and it wouldn’t have surprised me if we caused some slight cursing in the kitchen, but I’ll bet the line was as cool and collected as were Justin and Steven. Everything arrived at once. With such a party, it could have been expected to lapse over 3 – 4 minutes but that wasn’t the case. Plating and presentation were exceptional and timing was outstanding. A big BRAVO to the kitchen, if you’re reading this. A big endorsement to potential guests, if you haven’t nodded off by now.(I know… I do go on and on…) My duck & morel mushroom soup was very good. I confess that I found its smidge salty, but that’s my reaction with most dishes. My grouper cheeks(blackened) were spectacular. Sure, you say, they’re spectacular on their own — but the preparation was expert. The accompaniments were very good as well. The best seafood entrée I’ve had in months. Top all this off with a 2x espresso while watching everybody else partake of enticing pecan pies, key lime pies and bread pudding, and you have the picture of a memorable soirée. George(proprietor) didn’t pay any more attention to our table than he did any other in the restaurant. But I did see him pop his head in periodically and it was clear he treated all guests with care. Big kudos to Justin and Steven. Those guys are exceptional. Thanks to the kitchen as well — I would have welcomed seeing the chef(s) come to the tables but that’s not in vogue much anymore.(It’s a habit that I’d approve of resurrecting though!) And finally — thanks to George himself. It was his vision that made Giorgio’s a reality — one that was selected for this most special and August of events. (P.S., I read the two suspicious 1-star reviews. Please, folks… One telltale sign of a fake review is seeing that the poster only has ONE review! Regrettably, that’s how it goes. Just realize the actual star rating average is higher.)

The tall guy behind the bar should take more pride in his drinks. He looks like he knows what he’s doing but purposely slacking. Very sad for a man that age.

By far the best meal I had in Tallahassee. My only regret is that we found Georgio’s on the last night of our stay. The restaurant is located on Appalachia Parkway and the private parking lot is roomy and offers free parking. Not that this was a consideration for me and my coworker as we walked over from the Fairfield Inn and Suites. The atmosphere is nice, with muted lighting, music, wood and leather booths, and alfresco seating available. As soon as our waiter mentioned there was a Greek plate special with spanakopita, moussaka, and stuffed grape leaves I was sold. The plate included a Greek salad, which was nice and fresh, with cubes of feta, olives, cucumber, diced red onion and bell pepper, and grape tomatoes. A basket of knotted garlic bread with a Greek potato/garlic dip accompanied the salad. The Greek plate was astoundingly good and nicely plated. A generous square of moussaka(made with beef) was surrounded by sautéed vegetables, two stuffed grape leaves, and two pieces of spanakopita. I was impressed with the thinness of the eggplant in the moussaka and the delicacy of the spanakopita. It was a lot of food and I probably would have been satisfied with only half the plate. Price of the plate was $ 19. I also ordered a glass of Cabernet and a piece of baklava cheesecake. So good! The phyllo topping of the cheesecake retained a bit of crunch, and the baklava had a nice layer of nuts. Even though it had a drizzle of honey, it was not too sweet. All in all, excellent food at a great price. My total, including wine, entrée, coffee, dessert, tip, and tax, came out to $ 50. I wish we had found this place sooner!

Came here at the recommendation of one of my fellow travelers and together, with a group of around 20 people, ate dinner one night. Location: actually, the parking is off a side street of the Capital beltway on the east side. Parking: surrounding the restaurant. no problem getting a space. Service: Attentive. We had a waitress assigned to our large table. She was able to accommodate all of the orders, drinks, drink refills, etc. She broke up the check into individual ones. Food: we shred a number of appetizers. the ones that made it down to our side of the table were calamari, spicy shrimp, and a greek appetizer called a meze. The spicy shrimp was good, the meze great. I had a chicken parmesan special that was coated with a greek lemon sauce that was both different and great. The combination of flavors were very complementary, unusual and satisfying. go back: definitely. when back in the capital.

If I could give a restaurant«zero» stars this would be it. The service was good but the food was awful. I ordered veal piccata. The veal was tough, the sauce thick and gelled, the angel hair mushy and overlooked. I believe it was a frozen dinner they heated up and slapped on a plate. The grouper was small and very fishy tasting. The bill was $ 57, way overpriced. Highly NOT recommended.

3 strikes you’re out. This is the 3rd time in a row, out of countless visits, that we have been here and each time the service is AWFUL and takes over an hour and a half for us to get our main course. Today, we waited over 20 mins(with a reservation) for just drinks and the food was all around awful; Crab dip was fishy, the steaks were all subpar at $ 30+ each– we didn’t stay for dessert. There was no effort made to make up for the all around awful experience, just our $ 160 bill for a party of 3. This was our last time visiting this establishment. Sad because it was once a great place to dine. :(

The service was attentive but not obtrusive. The meal was fabulous we tried five different appetizers which were all amazing. Four different entrées and five desserts everything was just great. Don’t expect to rush through dinner it’s experience to savor your food and enjoy the atmosphere and friends and family type of restaurant. Having the owner stop by our table to ask if we are enjoying ourselves gave it a very special touch. Highly recommend!

Recommended by a local and glad I decided to stop in for dinner. Excellent service immediately after walking in the front door. Met by a hostess who sat me. Ordered the Snapper topped with crab and a wonderful sauce. Excellent service, excellent food, great atmosphere. Recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Even had Georgio stop by my table to make sure everything was up to par. Can’t wait to come back.

If you are looking for the perfect romantic place this is the place for you. The ambience is desirable for an important date, anniversary, or any other celebration. The food and drinks are excellent and you will not be disappointed. Trust me George is not happy unless you are happy. Give it a try. Cheers!

We were planning to go to another restaurant nearby for dinner but it was closed. I whipped out my Unilocal app and Georgio’s was close with good reviews. Nice find! They had Cigar City Jai Alai on tap, which was awesome, and after we ordered they served us bread with some delicious smoked fish spread(no charge) which is a step-up from just serving with butter or olive oil IMO. My brothers both had steak and said it was tasty and cooked perfectly. My niece had grilled chicken with angel hair pasta and liked it. They got salad with their meal but I opted for soup: lemon chicken orzo. It was creamy goodness in a bowl. My entrée was grouper throats($ 18 on special) which was basically several cuts of the underbelly of the grouper. I got it blackened. The fish was fresh and really moist and flavorful. The scalloped potato pie and spinach thing that came with it was good as well. Nice portion size but I still cleaned my plate. I will definitely go back to Georgio’s on another trip to Tallahassee.
