We’ve visited Wok & Teriyaki House a couple of times. The food is good, nothing exciting. We won’t be going back after my pick-up tonight. My husband ordered, I picked up and there were two extra items we didn’t order. When I asked if she was sure and checked the text from my husband, she said«I’ve worked here a long time.» As if that negated not hearing a phone order right. My husband ordered a Bento 2, a kids teriyaki and general tsao chicken. I told her that perhaps she heard a Bento 2 and then doubled the kids teriyaki. She again responded that she’d worked there a long time and she was sure she could hear orders via the phone. *SIGH* Okay lady, you’ve worked there a long time and you are perfect in every way, but we didn’t order two chicken teriyaki. Sometimes the customer is right and it’s okay to listen when I tell you I don’t need two extra orders of chicken teriyaki. Don’t take offense so easily. Plenty of other teriyaki houses that aren’t so rude.

Definitely my new go-to place for teriyaki in Tacoma! The menu is daunting and but I settled on teriyaki chicken and general tso’s combo, and the chicken yakisoba. The portions are huge! And pricing is fair. All the food was very good, I just wish the general tso’s was a bit spicier, was more similar to sweet and sour with a tiny bit of a kick. As far as service goes, we ordered take out but the woman who took our order was friendly, helpful, and very kind. It was fairly quick, also. The inside of the building is very neat and clean, I think next time we’ll sit down inside to eat. All I all, definitely would recommend!

Price was good, food was good. The gyoza was tasty. I had chicken teriyaki which was also tasty. Not thrilled with the location– parking is not the easiest.

The inside and outside are clean and neat in appearance; when you enter you are greeted and seated promptly; you have the choice between booth seating or pull out chairs, the food portions are large and the price is very fair. We were suggested this place by my aunt and she was spot on about the place. This will be a normal stop to eat from now on.

My ‘go to’ teriyaki place in Tacoma. They almost always have my food ready when I call a to go and their portions are pretty good size. Teriyaki chicken, yakisoba, tempura and chicken katsu is all very good. The staff that works here is always very friendly and professional.

I ordered bento chicken teriyaki and a roll; the total was $ 25. It’s a little expensive. They have brown rice for a $ 1.99 up-charge. Other places only charge $.50 for brown rice. The teriyaki sauce is different but I liked it; it’s not sweet like every other place’s sauce. The food came out pretty quickly. I’d come here again.

Very expensive. I received a hair in my salad on my first order. Then my girlfriend had to pay again because the server only put in an order dor one thing. Didn’t even ask me if I wanted anything. HORRIBLEPLACE!

I have been coming here for over a year now and every single time it had been phenomenal! I order the sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef and it’s the best I have had plus they give you huge portions! I started coming here because my friend is allergic to msg and this is the only chinese place we have found with no msg and we both love it. :) I have always had everyone be so polite and sometimes a little hard of English but they understand what I am saying and my order is perfect everytime. :)

This review is for the short ribs. First impression is that the prices are steep. For lunch I was expecting $ 9.99 at the most. They had dishes as high as $ 15.99. I was in a rush and this happened to be in the area so I gave it a try. Ugh, I regret spending my money here! «Kalbi» short rib plate was $ 15.99 + 1.99 if you want fried rice. Also, $ 5.00 for 2 inari. The plus was that Inari was made fresh by a sushi chef. Weirdly, the rice had tiny pieces of vegetables in it. Anyway, I spent $ 25 for a mediocre lunch. Kalbi was too sweet and chewy. The fried rice was indelible and way too salty. This is another one of those places where the menu is all things Asian with no real specialty. So, I wouldn’t know what to even recommend. Menu was extensive, rolls had no descriptions maybe because they are all made similarly(fake crab mixture w tuna, unagi, or salmon on top). Won’t be back. Not impressed.

Old but clean building. Parking is available. Prompt and courteous service. Delicious Mongolian beef. Chicken was abut sweet bc of the sauce but pretty good. Lunch special doesn’t come with salad. Only egg drop soup which I actually don’t eat. All in all a good teriyaki joint. I’ll be back.

Such great and amazing sushi! The staff here are all very friendly and give plenty of space to actually enjoy the food too. The sushi, when you order certain ones, is served on a wonderful wooden boat and is always displayed beautifully. There is a wide variety of drinks available from bubble tea, to soda, to even beers and wines. I love coming here for their sushi, and their chicken wings are just phenomenal! My boyfriend had them and he absolutely loved them!

This place has one of the biggest menus I’ve seen anywhere! It can take 10 – 15 minutes just to select your order unless you’re like me and know what you want! But once you eat here a time or two, it quickly becomes apparent that the owners(and cooks) are from Japan. They make delicious Teriyaki chicken, but it’s rarely hot. And it seems to me that they actually just heat it up and pour sauce on top. But it’s pretty good. And if you love teriyaki chicken as much as I do, and you like a huge portion, go for their SIDEORDER for $ 7.50 and you’ll get more than you can eat alone! I’ve noticed a couple times that their Sweet & Sour chicken is so piping hot that if you’re not careful you’ll burn your mouth! BUT, it’s way too overcooked! Way too crunchy for my tastes. I like my chicken soft and tender, not crunchy and overcooked. Never again will I eat their Sweet & Sour anything. But again, their Teriyaki chicken(haven’t tried their other menu items) is delicious, just not very hot. Almost like they just heat it up when someone orders it. I’ve eaten at many other Teriyaki places where their chicken is as hot as the Sweet & Sour is here, where you often have to wait for it to cool off. Not here. You can dig right in to your order and not worry about burning your mouth or tongue. Not so fast on that Fried Rice! THAT is always hot! So yeah, my opinion may not be as high as most other Unilocal reviewers, but then I’ve eaten as so many other places that I can easily compare one from another. Wok & Teriyaki House only gets 2 stars from me for several reasons… 1. The lady at the counter in the evenings is not very people friendly, often rude. 2. Their Teriyaki chicken is rarely very hot. 3. Their Sweet & Sour chicken is overcooked and too crunchy. 4. Their prices are out of this world! (If they changed the above 4 things, I’d bump up their star rating!) To sum it all up, I think I’ll only eat here when I’m starving and happen to be shopping in the Target Plaza they’re located in. But I’ll never again make a special trip to eat there. Only a handful of Teriyaki places in Tacoma can get me to drive across town just to eat there specifically, and the top ones are Bento Teriyaki & Sushi at 6th Avenue & Alder, and Mandarin Palace at 66th& Pacific Ave. I’m going to start exploring new Teriyaki places I’ve not tried yet in an effort to find more good ones. Funny thing is, not ONE that I’ve eaten at in Pierce County come close to how delicious(and always cooked to order and smokin’ hot!) their Teriyaki anything is at Sunnyslope Teriyaki in Port Orchard, over in Kitsap County! Oh… by the way… I forgot to mention(though I don’t know if it matters) that I have not yet eaten in at Wok & Teriyaki House, I always get mine to go.

After paying $ 50+ for 4 teryaki plates to go, we realized after we got back to our office that each one had so little chicken, we thought maybe they had run out and tried to split 1 piece of chicken umongst all 4 dishes. It was suprisingly cold for how long the wait was after calling ahead and waiting in the store for it to be ready. Will try somewhere new next time.

Went looking for a teriyaki joint by the new spot and decided upon this place as they seemed to have a large variety of sushi options as well. Walking in, the place had a good amount of customers which is always a good sign and a flow of call in orders as well. I ordered a few different rolls, a bento and teriyaki dish. $$$$ as the cashier rang up my order I was a little stunned at the amount that was due! EEK! It better be good is what I was thinking… my to-go order took a good 30 minutes, sigh, again this better be good. The family was pretty hungry since I had worked a little late and it took a while to get dinner so I was hoping regardless they would eat right? well we did but we all had a few choice words on the food unfortunately. Hubby wasn’t impressed with the sushi and neither was I. Fresh was the least we could say and that’s unfortunate since it’s sushi, everything tasted imitation like and the rice was a little hard. My daughter’s said her chicken tasted sweet, like syrupy which I later read in some of the other reviews, so I’m sure what’s up with their teriyaki sauce? weird. Don’t think this will be a place we go back to.

This is right around the corner from my job, so I decided to try it. I ordered over the phone. I wanted to do a lunch combo, but had to get the dinner meal considering it is Saturday which was no big deal to me. What was kind of upsetting was that I asked for the combo fried rice and I was told they only had regular fried rice. That threw me off considering they’re a teriyaki restaurant with the item on their menu. When I went to go pick-up my food the location was easy to find and the staff was friendly. The Mongolian beef was ok, but the sweet and sour chicken was phenomenal. I was not disappointed with the fried rice considering it was delicious and not greasy. I can’t wait until I can try their combo fried rice and the sushi.

One of the better places I visited in this town. Their sesame chicken is something to be said about as well as her fried rice I thought the overall meal was fantastic, as well as the hospitality from the Asian lady who rung is out. Overall great food and people!

I’ve been to Wok & Teriyaki twice with family and it’s always been a fun experience. Not only are staff friendly, funny, and fast, but the food is great. The presentation is always clean and picture worthy. The food hot and flavorful. I love the egg drop/egg flower(?) soup they serve before your order comes. This last visit our server(maybe she’s also an owner?) was so sweet and funny. My niece drew her a picture stating that she loved eating at this restaurant. We arrived around 11:30 am on a weekend day and we were seated right away along with other customers before and after us. My meals always stretch into two meals because it’s so filling. I have been ordering the teriyaki chicken and beef combo. The beef is savory and tender like the chicken. I tried the sushi my niece was enjoying and the spicy chicken my sister ordered. The spicy chicken isn’t as hot as you would think, it’s just spiced and tasty. A great and comfy spot to have lunch and/or grab take out and head over to TJ Maxx within the same shopping complex/strip several doors down. Good times and you can walk off your meal with some shopping. There is A LOT to choose from on the menu, so I know now to choose what I am in the mood for, usually beef, and only look at those dishes. :) I’m going to try a new dish next time.
