Wax Poetic is the most amazing relaxing place I have been since coming to Washington!
Let’s start with the esthetician Kindra, she is an absolute gem! And not just any gem that extra rare one of a kind gem. She knows her stuff, she really pays attention to your skin and how it reacts to different products. She works fast and makes you feel important and just puts you at complete ease.
The Brazilian sugaring, if you are afraid of wax or it’s just to painful for you this is definitely for you. Also the high grade of sugaring products she uses will take your hairs to a whole knew place of healthy. I used to get tons of ingrown hairs from shaving so I switched to waxing. I started three years ago with strip wax and although the ingrown hairs were minimal I still would get them in the bikini area and my skin would be inflamed for a few days after. Well one day I decided to try sugaring, the first place I went turned me off completely. The girl moved slow and it was a slow pinchy kind of torture.
The time to get my wax done again had come and I decided well maybe I will try sugaring just one more time and text Kindra. That was almost 6 months ago now. My ingrown hairs have been completely eradicated. The hair grows in slightly finer. And she moves fast! When I leave I feel cleaner and just all around better about life. She will talk to you the entire time and is better and probably cheaper than therapy.
Eyebrows: Well she turned my eyebrows in beautifully shaped masterpieces. They compliment my face, not too skinny or too thick. Kindra also managed to take my friend Vals eyebrows from mostly penciled in surprise-​brows to normal gorgeous eyebrows! She no longer looks as if the world shocks her. I would definitely recommend Kindra for at least the eyebrows if you are too scared to get your vagina waxed (even though I would recommend you at least let her tame the bush you would be surprised at how freeing and comfortable it is). Also if you know someone with the surprise-​brows please LET THEM KNOW! Don’t be THAT friend that allows their friends to go around being shocked at the world without even knowing. There is help out there and her name is Kindra and she works/​owns Wax Poetic. Please seek her help.
Facial: Today I will be getting my first Facial hopefully. I’ll come back and report how that one goes.

This place is AWESOME! I was a little confused at first because the spa is in a former house on 6^th ave, but once you walk inside you are teleported to a relaxation zone.
The first impression was that someone took a lot of time and love to make this place look like somewhere you could spend hours. The smell was amazing, the colors were expertly chosen, and her selection of products to take home was impressive for an independent spa.
Kindra was Amazing! Super friendly, put me right at ease (first time meeting her, and I booked a Brazilian, so friendly and inviting was just what I was hoping for!) and really talked through my preferences and issues before my service.
I chose to have my Brazilian done with sugaring, which I highly recommend, as the post-​session clean up is way easier and faster. My panties appreciate not having left over wax bits in them, for sure!
I booked a facial and an eyebrow service for next time. Her rates are Super reasonable, and it’s nice to support someone who owns their own business!
I highly recommend Kindra and Wax Poetic to EVERYONE!

YES! I FINALLY found someone who can do a REAL Brazilian wax and isn’t even THAT expensive. I have had so many disappointing experiences in the past trying to find someone to provide this service credibly. Kindra knows what she is doing and is very professional. I’ve also had awesome brow shaping & wonderful facials & peels from her.
Kindra is great, she talks you through what she’s doing and makes you feel comfortable in what could be an awkward situation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kinda for all of your waxing and facial services!

Ick. :(I bought the Unilocal deal for a Brazillian and this is not a spa, it is located in a house. Apparently it is zoned for commercial use but I still walked into a home with a kitchen and a bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, etc. in it. I have had a Brazillian before and left the appointment with smooth skin. Not the case here. I still had some visible hair, wax was stuck on my skin, and it felt and looked irritated which was annoying. The woman who did my wax was nice, but certainly did not do a sterile job nor a good job. I would suggest paying the extra bucks to go to a salon.

Kindra is amazing! I just recently got an eyelash perm from her and I love it! No more ripping my lashes out with an eyelash curler. You can tell she really cares about the quality of her work. She even texted me a few days after see how my lashes were doing. She also does a great Brazilian wax and is very knowledgable and accommodating. I would definitely recommend going to her.

In addition to being fast and incredibly accommodating (my two top requirements for any aesthetician), Kindra is a pure delight to be around and really knows her stuff, whether you’re asking about below the belt hair removal, brow regrowth, or dealing with winter fatigued skin. She’s the ultimate go-​to girl!

She is wonderful to get a Brazilian from, because she’s working with you through it. I go mostly for my brows and skin care, and she does a fabulous job with both. Also, ask to try the Kombucha… it’s REALLY good.

Kindra is amazing at what she does! Every time I get a brow wax it’s quick, painless, and of course, perfect! She really is a master at her craft. Looking forward to getting a facial from her as well! Please go see Kindra she’s amazing!

Kindra is almost too good. Who knew I would actually look forward to a brazilian? She is friendly, hilarious, and wicked professional. Certainly not the cheapest place I’ve been to, but it is totally worth the extra money.
