The clubhouse at Tacoma Lawn is nice, and the locker rooms look great. But the rest of the club is below average. It survives because it’s the only higher end tennis facility in Southwest Washington. They have 4 indoor courts, 2 of which are in a bubble. The lighting is good, but you can find much nicer at equally priced clubs. So, it’s really only worth the money in the summer when you can use their outdoor courts. By comparison, the club I joined also has a 4 court facility. It also has much lower initiation, but still maintains decent membership cap to ensure court availability. Tacoma Lawn has a gym and much better locker rooms, but the club I joined has nicer courts in every single possible aspect. It also has as nice an outdoor pool. So compared to tennis clubs in Bellevue or Seattle, Tacoma Lawn falls way short. For the price of initiation and dues at Tacoma Lawn, you could join Bellevue Club, and have significantly nicer everything(huge indoor pool, much nicer indoor courts, awesome basketball courts, a more modern gym, cooler member facilities). But since Tacoma Lawn only has to compete against Lakewood and Sprinker, it has a market for itself. Also, in my opinion, the people at Bellevue Club are nicer and more laid back. If I lived in Tacoma, I’d just play at Sprinker on weeknights, and use the money saved from dues to drive up to Boeing Tennis, or a better club in Bellevue.

Do yourself a favor and get on the wait list now. It may be 2 years before you get in, but you won’t regret it. Great family atmosphere an the tennis pros are fantastic. All summer long you get to enjoy the pool and BBQ your own goodies poolside on one of the dozens of BBQs at your disposal. It’s an incredible value as well– less expensive for a family that a Y membership!!! Enjoy

this is a nice club. they have seven tennis courts, two of them are indoor courts. they have a gym and pool. the have a large banquet room. this place is nicely kept up. the courts are kept clean and and the pro shop has some nice equipment but it’s really expensive, carries alot of babblot items. there pool is open during the summer and the carry lifeguard to make sure the kids are safe. the gym is really small but I have a membersip to Bally so I can work out there. they do rent out there banquet facility has two rooms so it can be very intimate or it can be large and social. they actually have a tennis tournament here every year. a couple of the rated players come down and play. they have a locker room. they keep the place up since it’s a private club. don’t forget the Greater Northwest Open is coming soon. if you like to watch tennis it’s only a few bucks to watch when the tournaments going on.
