Since moving to Seattle seven years ago, I’ve used a few different cleaning services, but none really satisfied me, including the one I was using for most of 2015. So when a friend said that a friend of hers had started her own cleaning service, I was happy to give it a try. And now I’m VERY happy that I did, because Genevieve, who is all of G&T, rocks! Here’s what I love: * She pays attention to what I want, and is completely accommodating of my varying requests from one visit to the next. She’s not hung up on completing an arbitrary checklist. * I’ve never had to repeat a request for what I want each visit –I mention it once, and it just happens * She is both intelligent and articulate, and so extremely easy to communicate with * She’s flexible about schedule, and was able to arrange both the time and frequency of her visits exactly as I want them * Her rates are competitive with other services in the area, and less than some with which I’ve been far less satisfied * She is, in fact, both good, and thorough: the kitchen and bathrooms consistently look great, and she’s managed to get the high-traffic areas on my carpets to look even better than when I vacuum them myself, which is a first * She uses the same kinds of products I choose myself(mostly Method brand cleaners), so I’m not worried about assorted toxins ending up in my house * She started the business because she actually enjoys cleaning, so I don’t have that liberal guilt that comes from paying someone to do something I don’t enjoy The only negative I can think to mention is that it takes her a bit longer(4.5−5 hours, vs 4) to clean my house than it did the previous service, but I consider the improvements in the quality of the result, as well as the other points above, to be well worth the small additional cost. And yeah, she comes up from Tacoma to clean my house in Ballard. When her calendar fills up with clients, I’m going to be happy I’m grandfathered in, even though I’m so far from what I assume will be the bulk of her clients. I know I haven’t written a lot of reviews, so it’s tempting to take this one with a grain of salt. But it’s the real deal, and so is this biz. If you need someone to clean, check her out!
