Denny’s

Denny’s is not a favorite of mine. We were in a rush and we really didn’t know the Lakewood Washington area. Should have Unilocaled nearby right? I was too tired to think. We had really good service. We were greeted immediately. Seated, drinks ordered and food order taken. Our server Daphne was so nice and really cheered us up from our sleep coma we were in. The eggs (over easy) and hash browns were perfect. My daughter had a huge Belgian Waffle, which I took a few bites of. Very fluffy and slathered in maple syrup. Good times.

I always have memories at this denny’s. The service for the most part is great. Never had really bad service here. Food is at par. It’s busy after 11pm with all the people filing in from the other bars and work. That is when it’s the weekend. Weekdays are fine and no wait time really. Overall, I like this Denny’s better than the I-​5 entrance Denny’s. The only downfall is the bathroom. It’s smelly.

Seated in a reasonable amount of time, but that’s the only good thing I can say about this place. Food was not that satisfying I felt sick afterwards because the place had a dirty feel to it. One star just for them providing me food and services. Never coming back again sorry but Mountain Highway Dennys takes the win over this location.

Over an hour to get our simple breakfast which was horribly prepared. Total crap, my partner couldn’t finish his omelet because it was garbage. The only redeeming part was the waitress was pleasant. NEVER AGAIN

My husband and I have lunch here once a week as we pass each other during our busy schedules. Each time we are here Danielle is always pleasant and smiling. The food is ok, but we never really have any major concerns. Only one time have we gotten like warm food. The only reason I am doing 3 stars and not more is because if we go when Danielle is not there, the other staff isn’t as friendly.

Seated promptly, excellent/​friendly service by Tarika, and the jr. cheeseburger was AWESOME. it wasn’t because I was hungry either, it was really good. This is my new location for Sunday afternoon breakfast/​lunch, not sure what I’m wanting!

This place is the first stop on the road to hell. The dead faces of the wait staff don’t bother to acknowledge you when you walk into the unearthly lit lobby. Fellow damned souls mill about aimlessly while demonic children bang broken dolls against grotesque vending machines selling Duck Dynasty DVDs. When we finally got our names on the list, we sat in a cramped waiting area and observed the the dilapidated state of the building. It looked like it had seen a thousand years of human pain and suffering with chipping paint and a lounge entrance like the gaping mouth of Jonah’s whale. The ambience of the place weighed on our souls, and we had resigned ourselves to our fate when an indignance over being skipped when it came time to be seated snapped us out of our eldritch stupor, and we fled leaving a little bit of our humanity behind.

I wish you could put zero stars! Walked in and the place smelled like pee, very bad strong pee smell. I had to use the bathroom and there was blood all over the toilet seat, walked into next on pee all over floor, next one had number 2 in toilet. The bathroom was so nasty very nasty. If the bathrooms was that nasty then I bet the staff is nasty and not clean. How is this place still open.

Hubby and I always come here for breakfast one day a week. We have dubbed the 2 African American waitresses the «sweeties» because they’re always courteous, gracious and attentive. I always eat the same thing so my food is pretty consistent but my husband has had some unsatisfied moments because he eats different things and some have been mediocre at best. For that only I give 4 stars.

Two stars only because of James who came and diffused the situation. Came here for a pre long morning drive dinner. Yeah right. What should have only taken 15 minutes tops, we’ve been here for 45+ minutes waiting for our philly melt and slamwich. Our server Jerry, took over 10 minutes to even bring us water or acknowledge us. This place was not busy whatsoever maybe two other tables and some people in the bar. A new server came and introduced herself and pardoned another table for lack of service (they had been waiting about ten minutes for water and acknowledgement as well) and blamed it on a shift change. I work in a restaurant. I get things happen but that is no excuse. She came back over and asked if we were doing okay and I had told her actually no we were not it had been over half and hour and we had to go. Come to find out our server before didn’t even put our order in!!! He came over and said basically whoops sorry. So nonchalant. James had come over and told us that he was just informed of the situation and gave us 20% off and a free desert, told us that Jerry had gone to break when he was not supposed to and basically forgot about us, and was as kind as he could be that this had happened. Knowing this isn’t a five star restaurant, still was unbelievable!!!

I’ve been coming to this Denny’s since I could remember– so like before the 5^th grade– anyway, this is a good place to go and hang if you want some decent food for a good price. any of the skillets are good in my opinion. the employees whenever I came were very nice and had a nice attitude! This Denny’s has a bar, and on some day’s– don’t know what days– they have karaōke.

Living in the area for years, I’ve visited this particular Denny’s MANY times, 90% of the time the service has been very good, friendly waitresses, good food. Prices seem to have gone up a bit but every restaurant that I go to seems to have done the same. They do have some good specials if you can catch them.

Worst Dennys ever. Horrible service, always out of something we order, and insanely long waits. Every time we come in, they are always out of something we order with no real options to compromise. They can’t even substitute waffles in the kids build your own grand slam. Overall, completely dissatisfied and won’t come back.

So I have driven past this restaurant at least a hundred times and I had never noticed a Denny’s here. Maybe my eye is always drawn to the cool looking McDonalds next store or maybe just a bad location, but I am not sure if I ever would have noticed this place if my girlfriend didn’t insist there was a Denny’s on 100^th. We came for breakfast the other day and it was not bad… typical Denny’s food and that’s what we wanted. The server was friendly and food satisfying so I have no complaints… and now I know that there is a Denny’s near the Towne Center.

I always come here and the same sweet ladies are working! This is a home away from home! Great food, fantastic service everytime I come. I come here with my boyfriend, my parents, friends and my neighbors! Overall I LOVE THIS DENNYS!

This Denny’s is a piece of shit. I’ve been there a few times and each and every single time. POOR customer service, COLD inside, TOO dark, and it takes forever just to get your food. The employees seem to be sitting around talking to their friends rather than actually doing their job. I’m not sure who manages the place but they are doing a terrible job. I seen a guy go outside come back in and not even wash his hands. when your food finally arrives it looks like someone carelessly slapped it together. My boyfriend, sister, and my self got sick from eating there. I will never ever come back here again! I’ve gave this place too many chances thinking it would be different but I was wrong. It’s a dump.

My friend and I came around 11:30 at night. There was one other table beside us. Our waitress was pregnant, no offense or anything just saying… it’s quite late for someone pregnant to be working on their feet all night!
She was friendly and attentive to our needs. We ordered the Fit Fare Omelette which wasn’t too shabby. BUT quite oily… or whatever it was drowning my omelette. I ended up patting down the poor thing with some napkins.
OOOHHH! I just remembered, the smothered cheese fries (without bacon for me) it looked pretty ghetto, not going to lie.
But the cheesy goodness overpowered my judgement for the looks. It tasted alright!
I always need Tabasco with my ketchup for FRIES… that’s just how it works but… they don’t carry Tabasco?! I am pretty sure Denny’s used to… I know in Puyallup they did… when I went last… which was a year ago!
That was slightly a bummer.
My friend on the other hand ordered an appetizer as his meal, the grilled chicken and sausage quesadillas. I tried a bite, it wasn’t too bad. It was edible enough, I’d say.
Overall, it was just a typical Denny’s outing. It probably deserves a 3 ½ stars but I didn’t find anything bad other than the greasiness and no Tabasco incident.

Service was the best thing at this place, and even that was terrible. The food was cold, my girlfriend got a rotten grape in her fruit bowl, and there were people changing their babies diaper at their table. The employees didn’t say or do anything about it. Our table was sticky and the only thing they use to wash the table is a wet rag. We got a dirty spoon, and the food was mediocre at best. If you want a nice meal, steer clear from here.

I came in here the morning of Tuesday, January 15, 2013 and had breakfast around 0800 hours. When I entered I was greeted by a very friendly woman by the name of Trixie. She guided me to my seat and wond up being my server. Unfortunately for me the kind greeting at the beginning was about the best I got out of Trixie.
Aside from taking my order and brining me my check, I didn’t see Trixie my entire meal. I saw her going to other tables and checking on them. Even saw her sit down at one table and start joking with them. But she never once came back to check on me. So I had to make my one glass of ice water last through out my entire meal.
I guess to be checked on in this restaurant, you have to be a regular because the guests that Trixie did check on she knew by name and joked around with them.
Even though the food was good, I doubt I will be back. Especially since the way Trixie had me do my check.
For years I have been going to restaurants and when I ask for my bill, I had them my card. When I do that, they go and run the card and bring me back a receipt where I can then fill out a tip portion and sign it and leave that on the table. They did not do it that way here. Here they just printed out a receipt where I had to fill out the tip first then they would run the card based off of that. I was not very comfortable with this at all.

I know that my husband used to have weekly meeting here with his Army company to «break up the monotony», so I was really surprised that this Denny’s was listed, but didn’t have pictures or any reviews!
The were doing a great special today, all you can eat pancakes for Active Duty of Vets. The had different flavors too. I guess I’m totally out of the loop when it comes to breakfast foods! LOL My friend had to show me the hush puppy pancakes the last time we went to anther Denny’s after picking me up from the airport late at night.
Also, I was falling asleep the first time I tried to write this, and I looked at it and first though — meh, I’ll change it tomorrow. But then — I thought. Wow, what if a lot of people look at it from now til tomorrow? So As you can see I’m still up to fix my review. LOL
So while my husband got his «all you can eat pancakes» a round of plain and a round of «strawberry (I liked the strawberry — but I only got to eat like two bites. I ordered some loaded has some „Loaded Hash Browns“, just to keep my husband company. Well, he said to get „loaded hash browns“ since I really wasn’t hungry. I had always like Denny’s French Slam before when I was a kid, but there were a of of people there today, and almost everyone was getting the Pancakes», so I didn’t want to hold up the kitchen or anything. My loaded hash browns weren’t as good as thought they were going be. I usually love Hash Browns, but as soon as I saw that white «Chicken Fried Steak» gravy, meh — I didn’t really want it anymore. But since my husband ordered it, he ate most of it. I only got to eat some bites around the gravy., but at least we didn’t let food go to wasted.
Yes, I’m a freak who has stayed up too late tonight to write her 30 for 30 challenge review.
The rightwards we headed over to sizzler! LOL, at least we have a huge baked potato in the over to show for that. Which I just may eat now… :)
