Literally one of the worst places. The food is bad. The service is bad. The entire restaurant smells like an old sweaty shoe.
I’m guessing the only reason this place stays open is because of ice-​cream and kids like it.
Will avoid at all costs.

We stopped in here for shakes/​floats while shopping in the mall one afternoon. Service was quick and good, my float was great and the waiter offered to refill my soda. My biggest complaint is the smell of the place. Like the floors just needed a good cleaning.
Hoping to go back and try some of the food since people seem to enjoy it and it always seems busy.

This is my favorite diner in all of Central NY. The staff is always so polite, the food is very diner-​like (as it should be), and if there’s a wait try really make it go by quickly. Highly recommended!

Worst time ever couldn’t even get a shake to the table without forgetting until food was done then asked us to pay for it but wait still didn’t get it they said they would make it to go then I said no she said we won’t charge u and it was on the bill still no shake

The food was great. The prices however were a bit on the high side. The staff was also very friendly. We payed $ 5.49 for a medium milkshake. In my opinion, this is a high price for a milkshake. I would pay $ 6 for a milkshake at an ice cream place, but not at a throwback style diner. Overall though, we enjoyed our meal and time there.

They nailed the atmosphere for sure! I like this place, but you can definitely get tired of it quickly, so I don’t go here much. The staff is all very friendly and nice. Their ice is actually really good haha, it isn’t cubed and isn’t crushed, but is small and chewable! Destiny has a bunch of great restaurants, this one is probably just out of the top 5.

Burgers are good. I’ve been coming here for years. But seriously, ELECTRONIC ORDER GAME STATION?! It’s awful. And my family and I turned it around so we didn’t have to see it, and our waitress turned it back. And the music is now current day?! It REALLY kills the vibe.

Just an over prices burger chain, the milkshakes are very good, just wish the food was too
Last visit our waitress was to busy fooling around with her phone to bring us silverware to eat with do after asking twice we asked someone else who took care of us quick. Haven’t been back sense and don’t plan on it. There are many better choices for a burger

I love Johnny Rockets. It’s a great atmosphere and I love old style dinners. You can watch them cook your food from the counter so you can always see your food if you want which is always plus. I had a chicken melt and it was delicious. The wait staff was really friendly and all together it was a pleasant experience.

I love this restaurant! I’m so glad there is finally one in the Syracuse region! The food here is always served relatively quick and hot! It is also always wonderful, especially the Oreo shakes the staff are all always so friendly and fun but, My boyfriend has a favorite waiter, Steve. He is so fun and you can really tell he likes what he does. The fries are amazing and the ketchup smileys are so cute! Anyways, it can get pretty busy here on weekends and Friday nights, so I would suggest getting here/​in line a little earlier. But It is so worth it

I’ve been going here for years and have rarely been disappointed. There’s something about a Johnny Rocket burger that always hits the spot — must be something in all that grease! I’m a sucker for their fries as well. They have the right amount of starch to them, and there’s nothing better than dipping them in a dish for smiley faced ketchup.
What I also like about coming here, is seeing the same familiar faces from ten, fifteen years ago. It speaks to the management, and the company, which is very cool, especially for a mall location.

Hamburger was very greasy, so greasy that the bun disintegrated, I’ve eaten here before and had a similar experience. French fries were blah. I always try to give a restaurant a second chance because everyone has an off night. It will be awhile before I return.
The server was very pleasant and professional. Food was promptly prepared and delivered. While I like retro music, it was very hard to hear what was playing due to a poor sound system. I think this type of restaurant would do better as a stand alone. Too bad.

Awwee yeah. I went with my son this week. I got a bacon double, and he got chicken tenders… And man did we grub. My burger was ridiculously huge and awesome. When I was done gluttonizing myself with greasy delicious meat topped with cheese, bacon, lettuce & onions… I killed my fries and then finished the chicken tenders my son couldnt finish… THEY were great too. Love this place.

I don’t enjoy Johnny Rockets as much as I used to 10 or so years ago, but I think this is one of the better eateries at Carousel Mall/​Destiny USA… especially compared to the ones in the food court. Not to mention, the employees are super friendly! Our waiter, Teter I think his name was, was nice and accommodating.

When I’m at the mall, Johnny Rockets is one of my favorite restaurants to go to for my guilty pleasures (french fries, onion rings, milkshakes), even though their fifties-​style diner fare is a bit overpriced. The service is friendly and the food is tasty. Besides their fried goodies, I also enjoy their deliciously toasted tuna melt.
