IHOP

Sitting here for 23 min, I received my coffee at 18 minutes of waiting. Still no food. Clientele is what you’d expect in a city. Servers are polite but not skilled and I can’t see a single customer that appears pleased.

I have attempted to eat at this particular IHOP on three separate occasions, none of which I was able to accomplish. The place is never full, the staff are reluctant to actually interact with customers. I feel really bad for whomever footed the bill for this particular franchise. If you have any more money you would like to throw away, please let me know. In my honest opinion, if it were mine, I would have validated the reviews and if found to be true, replace ALL of the staff, including the management, with competent/​motivated employees. IHOP is an iconic name, and as such there are certain expectations. None of which include, waiting for over 30 minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant. If you are looking for a legit place to have a Sunday brunch, I highly recommend Cantina Laredo! They give a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary if you order off the brunch menu. I go there every Sunday, and have yet to be dissatisfied.

I would give negative reviews if it was an option. Honestly it’s not our servers fault, she was great; it’s the management. They (the management) should be ashamed of themselves, you ran out of French fries and chicken soup and gave us old shriveled up pickles for lunch We had 12 people in our party and we did our best with the substitutions. Seriously, you are a restaurant that could be decent if you actually cared — who does your ordering? I will never go back, I hope our server finds a new job with management that cares and a restaurant that has food. Now I know why iHop will not last a destiny. We only went to iHop b/​c there was no wait, I can see why. Empty restaurant at lunch when every other restaurant had a minimum hour wait… what’s wrong with that scenario? j

Just terrible. So many people were walking out I felt bad. But when an hour passed and our food still hadn’t arrived we did too.
There at least two managers on and both kept stopping by apologizing for the delay, I guess I’m not sure why one wasn’t the kitchen helping
Don’t think I’ll go back any time soon.

Read the reviews on this restaurant online, it only showed 2 stars. We decided to take a chance, I’m glad we did. The food was awesome the service was great!!! I would eat here again and again.

By far the worst experience I’ve EVER had at an ihop. The drinks (water and juices) took about 25 minutes for «clean cups» in a basically empty restaurant. Took an hour to get our food, out of 7, 2 plates made their debut. Then we had another lady, not our waitress ask us about the rest of meal and wanted a breakdown. The restaurant is empty, how can you mess that up?! I can’t even say that the waitress somehow tried to redeem our experience, not even an apology. Service where?

NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. NEVER. EVER.
This was the worst experience I had with any IHOP restaurants.
My friends and I came in around 1:30PM, and it was not that busy at that time. We ordered our food & drinks right away. Our waitress took ONE HOUR to bring our food to the table. ONE HOUR. She said «it’s not my fault» that the food took so long.
The other tables around us were having similar problems. I saw a table leaving, and another table complaining like us. DO NOT GO TO THIS IHOP. It was a complete waste of time and money.

I have never in my life had to leave money on the table for drinks and leave before being served my food. Unfortunately that is exactly what happened. My girlfriend and I don’t get to meet up for breakfast as much as we used to, so it was exciting to get together and a big treat as our spouses were coming along too! We don’t usually go here, but thought we’d shake up our routine. Bad decision. Sunday morning around 10am. The place is really not that busy at all. They arrived a few minutes before us and were seated in a booth. When my husband and I arrived, he grabbed a high chair and we got ourselves arranged and my son seated. They waited until everyone was seated to tell us we couldn’t stay there because of some rule about the high chair and the booth… So we undo everything and move everyone to a table. Not a big deal, but not a great start. The lady grabs our drink order and tells us our waiter will be with us in just a minute.
Here is where it all goes to hell. The waitress takes another 15 minutes to come to the table and quickly takes our order. I ask her to bring us some apple sauce right away to keep my 1 year old from blowing everyone’s ear drums while we wait on food. She gives me this confused look and tells me they don’t have apple sauce, but how about yogurt. That would be fine, but my kid has allergies and we can’t do yogurt… No big deal, so I ask for a bowl because as a mom of a child with allergies I come prepared. She never came back. Not with a bowl. Not to refill our drinks. Not to check on us, nothing. 35 minutes goes by since we ordered (not since we sat down the second time) and she finally swings by to apologize for how long it’s taking. She’s been standing at a counter for atleast 15 minutes and I’ve seen atleast 2 other tables approach her asking what the heck is going on. At this point we’re all starving and my son has about had it. He wants food and will not be placated. We gave it another 10 minutes and watched her to continue chilling with her coworkers and mutually decided to give up. Threw money on the table and let them know we were leaving.
Luckily there are some great options in the mall that took care of us quickly and with much better service. Avoid this place at all costs.

This review has nothing to do with the food. I’m not sure I’m right, but I think I am. Closing the «Dewitt IHOP» franchise to promote the «Destiny IHOP» seems like a bad way to do business. It’s survived 45 years. I’m thinking some people lost their job, and customers lost a good place to eat out there in and near Dewitt. I’m not going to Destiny for IHOP.

Food was delicious. Both my gf and I were happy with our meal. The service was a little slow, but there was a small staff and they were obviously trying.

My Dad and I had an early dinner here today. We were taking advantage of the $ 0.57 stack of pancakes for IHOP’s birthday. They were delicious and they didn’t scrimp. The 4 types of syrup was cool (old fashioned, blueberry, strawberry, butter pecan?). Dad always complains about the coffee not being hot enough at restaurants but this was right on the money. And the coffee was very good. We also split a BLT which was also good.
They were fairly busy when we came in and very busy when we left. Our service happened to be pretty good but we noticed others did not fair as well. One family stomped out after apparently waiting too long with the father saying the service was deplorable. So, I guess this place is a hit or miss. It’s a fairly new location, so maybe they are working out the kinks?

Wish I could have given no stars… Terrible service… half the restaurant was empty at breakfast on Sunday, we were made to wait 25 minutes for a table and our names were overlooked causing further delay… They took ages to get our order, and brought the food in fragments over 45 minutes… Will never go there again!

I don’t ever have high expectations for ihop service, maybe that’s why I’ve never felt the need to complain before. This was just ridiculous.
First off, pricing is much higher than your average Ihop I guess because it’s so much less convenient than your average Ihop? And add to that the fact that in spite of being fully staffed and less than a quarter full, this was the longest Ihop visit of my life. Approx 25 mins before our food order was even taken. We never got drink refills and had to ask multiple times for things like condiments and coffee creamer.
The majority of the tables in the restaurant needed to be bussed. When after more than 30 mins, we finally received our food, the waitress dropped my son’s whipped cream on the floor and just starred at it like she was contemplating putting it back on his pancakes. I ordered crepes and only received one, even though they clearly come with two. My complaints could go on, but I’ll just say this, I love Ihop but I’ll never go back to this one!

I would give 0 stars (but it’s not an option). Waitress came to our table 2 times and walked away to help someone else. We noticed the table next to us with just their drinks, They were there before us, and we sat for at least 20 min. So we decided we are leaving, and the table next to us also left. And we came to TGIF!!! :) this place is going to close. They had one waitress to take orders… P. S. — the table next to us also followed us to TGIF LOL, idk how they waited for over 30 min and only got drinks. FAIL!

They don’t have everything on the menu like soups only one type of soup, minestrone. Side salad is very very basic. The chicken crepes were good and service was fair.

Went to IHOP in the mall because the other one closed. It was Mother’s day and we only had to wait about 15 minutes. They got people in and out. Service was a bit slow but not awful. The food was good. Belgian waffle was dry and hard, the butter they brought was frozen and by the time we did get the butter, the waffle was too cold to melt it. Everything else was pretty good. We’ll go there again to see if it gets better, the wait staff needs more training though.

Very slow & Very bad! Avoid at all costs!
I was having lunch alone on Friday, only about 25% full and it took 30 min for food to arrive. My citrus chicken pecan salad arrived with no pecans, no mandarin oranges and the limpest greens I have ever seen. The chicken was dried out and in tiny bits. I was scared to eat it so I sent it back and told the server I was not paying for it, but I would pay for the iced tea. He came back with the check for just the tea. No manager came to ask about my problem.
I did tip the server on the iced tea bill as he was very friendly and I know it is management’s fault, not his.

Service is the worst I’ve ever had. It took them forever to bring out our food. They brought us like 4 other people’s food and got my sisters food all wrong. It takes a lot for me to complain but this was the worst service I have ever gotten in my life. Honestly they don’t even deserve one star.

I honestly don’t feel this place even deserves one star. One of the absolute worst places I have ever been to. I didnt expect much, since it is just an ihop… But this place lacked even the basics. We went here maybe a month ago. We did sit down right away, but it was all downhill from there. We had a few people come over to take our drink/​food orders (after waiting a good amount of time) so it was clear that they didn’t know who our waitress was. We waited a good 45 mins to get our breakfast orders. Meanwhile people all around our table who very obviously sat down after us were already eating and nearly done. So we inquired what was going on. The manager came over and was clearly not interested in why our food was taking so long, he simply said that he «adopted a bunch of kids» and that they’re still learning… When we did get our food, it was pretty awful. Just not appetizing. We asked for water refills several times and never got them. The waitress was completely not interested in helping us. She did ask if we wanted ketchup to which we said yes. Only to never bring it. We had to find it ourselves at a table around the corner. I would never go back here, even if the food was free.

This was our second vist to This hop. the first one seemed like they were just figuring things out. they have been open for a few months now… and no better. we ordered an appetizer sampler that came about half an hour after our main disbursements. they overheard us talking about it and came over to tell us that our breakfast sampler would be out in just a few minuted. we corrected their assessment… and the appetizer came out in about the right amount of time for them to make it… they were late with the silverware… never offered refills on soft drinks… overall seemed to not care. would not recommend with so many other choices at the mall.
