Hurricane Grill & Wings

Service was exceptionally slow which is my major complaint. The servers seemed to have little to no knowledge of what is featured on the menu. However, the staff was very friendly and accommodating to out large group. The food arrived lukewarm and was very reminiscent of other chains like Applebee’s with a beachy theme.

Absolutely superb job by manager, Charlie and delivery man, Sam today. I previously had two bad experiences in a row with Hurricane due to computer malfunctions and human error, but today they were perfect. I am so glad I did not give up on them, as the wings delivered this afternoon were as promised; hot, delicious and on time. Thanks for making it right Charlie and Sam, you have succeeded in keeping a loyal customer!

Unilocal says that two stars means, «Meh. I’ve experienced better,» which perfectly sums up my thoughts on Hurricane Grill. The food and service are both mediocre, reminding me of a sub-​par Applebee’s. The atmosphere is cool and fun, but there isn’t much else worthy of noting.

This is a great spot! Came here on a Saturday around 1pm so it was not crowded, the ambiance looks like a beach bar, we both ordered an order of small wings which include 10 wings, celery, carrots and blue cheese or ranch, a side of fries is only $ 1 extra, she had the buffalo wings which she enjoyed and I had the Piña colada wings which were amazing! Just the right combo of spicy and sweet, I would definitely come back if in the area!

Meh! Had a veggie burger that had the consistency of a hockey puck and fries that were cold. Seems like a place you’d go to for cheap well drinks and sports TV. Service was very nice.

Below average food, and overpriced for what you get. Slow service. Boneless wings more breading than chicken. Not sure why anyone would come here, especially for football when you can get much better wings for cheaper and a better beer selection at Croxleys.

Nice staff. called in order very helpful food is delicious can’t wait to eat in store one day. had the wings (sauces raspberry jalapeño and medium. the raspberry was so good if you like a sweet with surprise of spice). I ordered the cheesecake as well that I would pass on next time (was post to be a salted caramel but didn’t taste that at all)

pretty reliable bar/​grill that we ended up at after doing a 5K. yeah, gotta burn it to earn it!
the tortilla chips appetizer should include more chips, and the guacamole amount doled out was about two tablespoons. this was really my only complaint.
they’ve got a good «choose your own dining adventure» menu, as I like to call it, where you can mix and match a bunch of items for a flat price. I got some boneless wings and tacos. the wings were juicy and crispy — the roasted garlic inferno is a great sauce. BBQ pork tacos were reliably good. I think it was ten bucks, and portion size was filling.
surprisingly good coffee too.
service was friendly and fairly fast — we were the only people there at noon, though.

After running the Integrated Medical Foundation’s Blue Ribbon 5K for our third consecutive year, Team Stomp Our Prostate Cancer needed to refuel. Hurricane was the perfect place to do so. The service was good, my burger salad (I have basically cut out gluten these days) was superb, and the chips and guacamole we tore through was delicious, though the chip to guac ratio was skewed – we wanted more guac! Overall though, I would definitely come back if in the area, or at least check out another one of their locations.

Disappointing delivery order.
I was hungry for some snacks as I wouldn’t be going out for dinner until late at night, I also couldn’t leave where I was. A friend suggested to give this place a try.
I placed an online order for some Hurricane Nachos with cheese only (didn’t want to have a gigantic plate of nachos, too much food) and some of their fries with bacon and cheese.
The nachos were a failure. The description says «shredded Monterey jack and cheddar cheese». Instead, it came with a disgusting cheese sauce and onions on it. It was gross and no one in the room liked the taste of this cheese sauce. The fries were okay, but pretty soggy.

The only items on the menu I can speak for are the wings and the fried pickles. Haven’t had much time to try anything else on the menu although some other items sound really great to try. 1^st of all, if you order wings boneless, you don’t know anything about great wings. Boss sauce is an absolute must and most of the 34 other choices are pretty darn good too. Boss sauce is my favorite and I tend to get that often. Staff is friendly and there is plenty of room to bring friends. Décor is cool. Prices and portions are average, nothing to complain about. Don’t ever order through GrubHub or any 3^rd party delivery service. It’s a known fact that you will wait hours for an order no matter where or how much you order. Solid spot for Syosset.

Well done. Good wings. Good service. Arrive early on football days. Nice selection of sauces and beers. Steak is good. Fish for the healthy.

The server Jr. Was more than a server he throughly enjoyed speaking with us and gave
his recommendations. He greeted my family of 9 with a smile and kindness. Hurricane wings are under rated they are absolutely delcious. The burgers and spices were spectacular! The cool vibes of steel pulse playing in the background brought me back to my youth. I love the food the atmosphere great. My seaside grilled shrimps were delcious coupled with the Caribbean rice made me drool. The drinks were perfectly price. Thank you Jr for making me hectic weekend end with your smile. More sauces on the menu than you can flap a wing at. Everything from sweet ‘n easy to melt-​your-​face hot. There’s some pretty unique ones on there, definitely give them a shot. Have had boned and boneless and both are pretty good. Never thought I’d like fried pickles, but they are a good appetizer.
Regular fries were insanely salty, like the kind of salty NYC tries to outlaw… they were still good though. I’m no health nut, but they need to take it down a notch.
Service was friendly but slow for a lunch hour that wasn’t busy.

The inside of Hurricane is really cute. It’s done up like a Caribbean resort, which is surprising, since it’s tucked away in a King Kullen strip mall. The food was average. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, which was good, but they barely out any sauce on it so I needed to get extra on the side. The food took a long time to get to the table, which was surprising considering it was fairly empty and lunch time. We had to rush our food down, so my husband should get back to work. Service was friendly, but slow. This is a good place to hang out and grab a beer, but food is average and nothing special.

Last time I order wings here I haven’t felt well both times after eating here and the wings don’t even compare to other bars ive been to. The boneless are way too breaded. Although if you are in the area and want to stop by with a couple friends for a drink it’s not a bad spot for the bar.

For a place that features wings, the wings I had were neither flavorful nor crispy. I prefer BWW wings over the ones served here. Maybe you need to order them extra well done?
However, the atmosphere is very cool and most of the sandwiches and fries are solid. Not a bad place to drink beer, eat, and watch the game.

I’ve been here a bunch of times mostly for beers and wings, but every time I’m here there is some REALLY good special. I’ve gone when there’s 50(?) cent wings, and another time when there was unlimited wings+fries for $ 10 (don’t get too excited though — I’m not sure if these specials are still in effect certain days or not). Last night we got beers for $ 4 each though– I mean, really?! You can’t beat that for a Saturday night. There was probably some drink special we weren’t even aware of, but needless to say we were surprised when the bill came.
As far as food goes, I LOVED the Shrimp BLT Quesadilla. Tasted like a combo of sandwich+quesadilla with the bacon/​lettuce/​tomato, and nice to get something different than my usual chicken quesadilla. I also like how the wings have a spectrum from spicy to mild so you can find a flavor along there you like — personally, I love the Honey BBQ wings. Pulled pork sliders are okay too. Just expect your typical bar food/​messy finger food; nothing classy about this place lol.
Ambiance is chill, vacation-​y vibe which I appreciate. Anything to pretend I’m not in cold New York!
I’ve also been to the Hurricane in Garden City– but Syosset’s location has wayyyy better service. Lucky for me, since it’s closer to my house anyway :)

Im not sure what I was expecting here. I mean it is a chain restaurant, so I guess I was being bias initially.
This place is WAY bigger then it looks on the outside… it looks like a tiny little storefront, then you walk in and its huge.
There were a lot of coupon options with this place… they give you coupon options pretty much every time you eat there. I got to remember this for next time.
Food was way better then we expected. Menu was really enticing to begin with. However we went there with the intentions of having wings. So we got twenty of them with different flavors, and a side of the fries and coleslaw. We loved everything. Wings were HUGE and meaty. Fries were totally yummy… everything was good…
This is rather picky… but I hate how our wings came with 1 small side of either blue cheese or ranch… and if we wanted an extra one we had to pay more. Ugh… thats annoying… I mean if more then one person is eating the wings you need two different sauces… NO DOUBLE DIPPING ALLOWED HERE!
My boyfriend and I were really tired after work, so we were in a sour mood. Luckily we had an awesome waitress name Jenna, who picked up our spirits a little bit. She was an excellent waitress, but also supper friendly and fun to chat with! Thanks again Jenna!
