I been there many times and not always good food but probably will go there again coz no much choice in Long Island of Korean food

Pretty over priced compare to normal Korean restaurants in Flushing, Bayside Queens area. Almost double the price. Even for the taste is no where near as good as the ones in other Korean restaurants. You don’t have much of the options when it comes down to Korean food around here but I’d definitely suggest drive down little more to Queens(Bayside/Flushing) area and have better Korean food at lower cost. I’m sure that would compensate the time you spend driving. I’d give an extra star for good waiter/waitress service but in the end, it’s the restaurant that will be judged by the taste of the food. This place is a no-go in that department.

Ahhhhh Koreana. Two words — BONCHON. The chicken here is unreal. I like the spicy, but most people get the traditional. The prices are pretty steep, especially for the location and the presentation of the restaurant. But I guess if people keep coming for the bonchon chicken, why drop the prices? #noBSfood

Back here with more fam :) Party of 9 for Sunday lunch and everyone loved the food! We had the BBQ galbi(2 orders of the tender meat which we ordered w rice — received raves), beef japchae(fam loved this as they’ve never had it before), tender hot squid bokkeum(requested to lower spice level a bit coz for the kids), chicken dolsot bibimbap and mixed bonchon chx. Banchan array was nice and service pretty attentive. Highly recommend! We actually bumped into old friends there.

For anyone who has had good BonChon(Korean fried) chicken and I don’t mean the restaurant called BonChon Chicken, this place’s equivalent creation is utterly an abomination. If a proper/authentic BonChon chicken is like Shake Shack’s gourmet burger, what you get here is the beef patty between two buns on an economy flight for $ 10. I literally had table spoon of dripping oil coming out of the chicken… c’mon. I can’t vouch for anything else they serve, so my experience is only based the fried chicken alone.

The first time was a diaster but since I was craving for Korean tofu food soup and really don’t want to drive to Flushing, we decided to give it a second chance. Either they have a new chief or I hit the good one today because the food was extremely tasty… we got the octopus bimbimpap, seafood pizza, garlic chx wings and off course my seafood tofu… everthing hit the spot, except for the«cold» miso soup… However, it is def pricey… about the same price as k-town, if not even more expensive…

The only reason that I am giving this place 4 stars is because they are one of the only Korean places around. I had the kimchi Bulgogi bibimbap. It tasted very good, but it was small, it had hardly any veggies in it, and it was over priced. The sides were all ok, but nothing special. If I was to compare this place to some of the Korean restaurants that I have been to in Korea town I would say that this place only deserves 2 stars. All in all, this is one of three Korean restaurants that I can think of in Nassau County and probably the best one which isn’t saying much. When I need to get my Korean fill and I don’t want to go to the city I will come here.

There are few options for Korean on LI, so big ups to them for making it happen(I’m sure their location outside of an Korean market helps). Inside, the layout is simple but clean. If you’re a first-timer, the servers won’t be much help, but don’t be scared. Traditional dumplings and soups are on the menu, along with BonChon chicken(get it) and a bunch of bibimbaps(get the bulgogi one). The food is all solid, not great, but solid. I brought my parents here, who are scared of anything new(I took them for Indian food 3 years ago and they won’t let me live it down) and they enjoyed it. Sure, they stayed away from the half dozen sides that come with every order, but to be fair, some of those are pretty scary(looking at you fishcakes), but overall they enjoyed the offerings. Will be back!

Went here on a Saturday night. Good amount of people eating there, mostly Korean, so I knew it was going to be good. The appetizers were delicious, we saw the bonchon chicken on the menu. It looked great, but we ordered too much so next time it will be a must. We got the toppoki, the japche, and the dumplings as apps. Once again, delicious. The bbq was definitely the highlight. We got the chicken, bugolgi, and the galbi. All to DIE for. I can definitely compare this place with some places in Korea Town, NYC and Flushing. Amazing joint, especially for one on Long Island. We are already finding another date to come back. COMETOKOREANA!!!

Like most reviewers said, this place is extremely overpriced and the quality is varying levels of average. For the same prices here you get more food and better taste and quality at any restaurant in queens. And to be quite honest they have no excuse to be this expensive unless they were paying their waiters a great wage(which I doubt because tip is still expected) and the supermarket is attached to the establishment. I hesitated to come here with my parents who were quite curious to try it after we went shopping in HY mart next door. I swear the free sample food made by the Korean ladies in the supermarket have more flavorful food. Which ironically we tasted before sitting at this establishment. My younger sister got the kimchi bulgogi bowl which was actually pretty good. I got the seullong tang(oxtail soup) and it was thin and tasteless even when salt was added. The Korean fried chicken was average, crispy but I didn’t care for the flavor especially the spicy one. I felt like I had nothing but a mouthful of cayenne. The soy garlic was a little better though. –I docked a star for overpriced. –I docked a star for mediocre service– I asked a waiter on a refill of the side dish and they hesitated, stammered and only agreed when my mom demanded it. — I docked a star on lack of flavor. –I however reward a star for the vast variety of their menu items even if they don’t taste amazing. With a heavy heart I give a Korean restaurant a low review. It honestly should be two stArs but not everything was awful. Just expensive.

Not bad at all! I love korean food and this place has about every single korean item you could think of. While the food was good, it wasn’t the best, but definitely helps satisfy your cravings. We tried the fried chicken and the it was pretty good. The difference between this place and say a Mad for Chicken is that they actually focus on the chicken, which was juicy, moist and delicious. Mad for Chicken and other bonchon places seem to focus on the skin and you barely get a taste of chicken. My only complaint is that I wish they had more sauce, but other then that, pretty good. All the food we had, we were very satisfied with. From the soondubu to the bibimbop, everything was pretty good. While not the best if you were to say get soondubu from BCD, they do a pretty damn good job for a restaurant that makes almost everything. Very happy to have found this place and even happier that it’s super close to home.

This place has the best korean fried chicken I’ve ever had! It is crispy, light, and glazed to perfection. My boyfriend and I usually come here for the chicken; we normally order a medium half/half combo. Their spicy wings are pretty spicy but they go really well with the radish. Soy garlic is my favorite but the two really go well together. As for as service goes. they’re okay. It’s not really consistent though I’ve never really had really bad service or really good service. The chicken here is so good that it really doesn’t matter. We’ve also had their kalbi jim. It’s also pretty good though nothing too special aside from its portion size. It’s bigger than normal. their doengjang jjigae is also pretty good and it has hearty helpings of tofu and seafood. The kimchi jjigae was average. their naengmyun wasn’t very good though. The chicken here really is the best though! As for food. this is the place I go to for korean food on long island when in too lazy to drive to flushing. Regardless, I return pretty frequently and am happy with the place.

I am reviewing the Bonchon Chicken Wings here. They were wonderful. I got half soy/garlic and half hot. They were crunchy even after sitting in their box for 3 hours! I definitely will have these again. Although I am not connoisseur of Korean food, As far as the restaurant goes, the food is adequate. I do find them pricey. $ 20 for 20 wings is not cheap! I waited a 20 minutes for the wings(hey that’s $ 1 a minute!), but attributed that to the fact that they were very fresh and if they were double-fried they would take that long. In their regard, the waiter readily told me that they would take that long so I knew in advance I would have to wait. After reading some of these reviews I will definitely travel to Queens to make a comparison. But given that I am a cook myself and a restaurateur’s daughter, I do know how make a distinction between apples and oranges and to appreciate them both for what they are.

Very overpriced, borderline rip off. I ordered the Kalbi bibimbap and it came without ANY veggies. just a few pieces of grisly fatty pieces of kalbi over rice. I’ve seen it all now… Bibimbap without veggies!!! NEVER going back here again. I feel molested somehow…

Go for the Bön Chon Chicken. For Long Island this small Korean establishment is good for a quick meal after grocery shopping next door. The meal was authentic but not up to par with what you can eat in Flushing.

I stopped by after looking for the supermarket that was next door and we needed a quick place for dinner. I saw the reviews and I was wary to go here. And not knowing the area we just settled and I still regret it after 3 days of having it. The 4 of us came in and there were only about 3 – 4 tables for a saturday night… um a sign? We ordered the seafood pancake, japchae, bibimbap(seafood and beef) and seafood tofu soup. The bibimbap, tofu soup, and japchae were a total disaster. The banchan was limited. The only thing I liked was the seafood pancake and for a large that will set you back 18.99. WTF? And it wasn’t even large. I hate to see what the medium size looked like. The prices here are very steep and close to K-town if not more. However, their food is subpar. Do yourself a favor and go next door and grab couple frozen korean dinners.

Sooooooo overpriced and does not taste good. If you absolutely cannot cook Korean food at home and dont want to drive out to Queens, this place is barely adequate to satisfy a dire need for Korean food. I’ve had soft tofu soup(soondubu) and kalbi from here. The soondubu was about the same quality as the prepared package stuff you can buy at the grocery next door for $ 3. Kalbi was of poor quality and the marinade was too salty. Their only merit is the really expensive BonChon chicken they sell, which you can order ahead of shopping at the Korean grocery next door and pick up to eat at home. It’s expensive but tastes ok and is a fine option for those stuck on the Island. They have soy sauce and spicy flavors. Soy sauce surprisingly is the better flavor to go with, even though I usually prefer spicy food.

Have a craving for really good bibimbap? This Hicksville Korean will satisfy it. Conveniently located right next to an H & Y Mart, you can grab some really good Korean comfort food then go right next door to grab the ingredients you need to cook your own Korean meal. The interior looks like an Ikea threw up, service isn’t particularly friendly and prices frequently go up, but it’s still inexpensive to eat here.

Food is not bad, I ordered spicy calamari with veggies, I asked for tofu on the side, was pretty good. My friend ordered BBQ marinated beef, I did not like it. There bonchon is pretty good, surprisingly kimchee was not good. I have been living in Long Island area since August 2007 and this is the second time I have been to this place. Oh I really liked their red hot pepper paste! They are pricey compared to Korean restaurants in queens. You can definitely expect better bonchon in Queens. I will be much happier if they can add a couple more bonchon to their table. I just might go to this place more often if I don’t have much time in the future specially if I feel lazy but I have been driving to Queens was never a problem for me. I do definitely have to mention that their kimchee need to be improved!!!

If you’re debating eating here, don’t. If you’re looking to get the fried chicken, you’re better off getting them to go because the service is awful. It’s a shame because it really is delicious. Came in for lunch during Labor Day(no lunch specials on holidays unfortunately). Busy running errands, I wanted to get the order in right away. Our waiter actually said he had to take drink orders first… Way to operate by the books. Besides the chicken we wanted an order of JJa Jang Myun(noodles with black bean sauce) only to be told it «wasn’t ready.» Asking 5 mins later our waiter tells us flat out it’s not available. How is the most simple normal menu item not available? I normally don’t rant, but the service needs to step it’s game up. Seeing other patrons get up to get themselves plates gives you a good idea also. Oh and the expensive prices for mediocre Korean food(besides the chicken) doesn’t help either.
