Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. At $ 157 dollars a night I expect much more. Pool was DISGUSTING complete with phlegm filled wads of hair floating around, murky water and very disgusting and dirty platform accompanied by cheap Walmart lawn furniture. Pool temp felt like it was just filled. I’m not a germaphobia type of guy but this experience had me feeling like shit was crawling around me when I slept. The rooms were either showing their age or dirty or a combination of both. There was a pounding sound in the wall in the bathroom all night maybe more like a faint thud like the plumbing pipes were shaking every time someone flushed the toilets. The room was also about 80 degrees. I asked three people in the elevator about their room temp and it appeared to be a hotel wide issue. Front desk staff was rough around the edges and they were always on a smoke break. I brought up my issues to the one lady in the morning who made me wait for three minutes because she started her smoke break prior to me walking up to the desk. I told her I wanted to see if they could do better on the room price but was cut off and given an eye roll. Once I described the room issues she offered a $ 25 visa gift card. Not what I was looking for but it was 6:30am on a Sunday morning and just settled. Would never recommend this place to anyone and would reconsider staying at any Holiday Inn

Good place to stay in the area. Honestly there’s not much competition, so clean rooms & helpful staff make this my Sycamore/DeKalb favorite Hotwire pick. Definitely go the discount hotel site(Hotwire/Priceline) route unless you’re trying to rack up IHG points.(Inside tip: this is a 2.5 star property with a 95% guest satisfaction rating on either site. Do NOT pick the 3 star sycamore property-it is awful!). Good breakfast & convenient to area shops.

It was ok. Small pool and no hot tub was a bummer. Pretty clean place and the room wasn’t bad. Maybe a bit overpriced for what you get. The continental breakfast was pretty good.

Rude front desk girl. I called to make sure we could have 2 beds since there was 3 of us and was told we would be put in a 2 queen non smoking room. We were given a king bed with pull out couch. The springs were felt thru the flimsy mattress and the couch would not fold back up. When we questioned it, our only other option was a smoking room. I guess the Illinois non-smoking law doesn’t apply to hotels. Had the rude front desk girl asked how things were upon check out we would’ve told about the large sticky spot on the wall by bed. Breakfast was decent. Poor room lighting

This wasn’t our first choice given we are Hilton people, but I have enjoyed other Holiday Inn stays in the past(meaning nothing egregious) and said we should just bite the bullet and stay here. Bottom line — nice employees, smelly rooms, old tvs, saggy beds, and weird shower rods that curve downward that make it impossible to keep the shower curtain fixed closed. Next time in Sycamore, we will probably won’t stay here.

This hotel was just your typical friendly place to stay. I have nothing bad or overly good either. It really was just another place to stay. My only complaint is that the drive into it is hard to find the first time you are there.
