Martha’s was very charming and accommodating. There was live music the night we were there – sometimes that can be bothersome, but it was actually very pleasant music and made for a fun night. The appetizer(crab cake) was fantastic. We had the halibut and the salmon – both were cooked perfectly and their sides went really well with the dishes. Dessert was amazing(pie with ice cream). The crust was like biscuits my friend’s grandma used to make… Yum. We also enjoyed some local wine. Some people will say the prices are a lot, but it seemed fairly priced because the dishes are upscale and very good quality. Coming from Chicago, the prices were pretty good!

Yum! Brunch — lunch — dinner. The waitress was very nice to accommodate us and our guest in a fairly large electric wheelchair despite the small-ish size of the dining room. No annoyed looks at having to squeeze around to serve others. There is a ramp and a few handicap accessible parking spots out back accessed by the alley. These were taken when we visited but it was easy enough to park on the street and walk through the patio. Breakfast is a little more interesting than your average spot, which is my preference. Lunch is pretty much sandwiches, soup or salad but it’s all quite good, traditional options with twist to make them more unique. They close before dinner and spruce up the dining room and menu a bit. The staff didn’t mind us staying past closing time for our lunch and the chef even wished us a good evening on our way out. I haven’t had the fortune to be here for dinner yet but it’ll go on the list next time I’m in town. Larger groups would need to split up between tables but if you hit it at the right time, it is doable and you won’t be far apart.

Thoroughly enjoyed our early dinner at Martha’s. Their 5 – 6 pm specials were delicious and just the right portions to enjoy the included dessert. Yummy!

Very good breakfast, but a little pricy. The blueberry pancakes were really good, a little heavier than the fluffy pancakes I’m used to, but a nice change– you get real maple syrup and butter to go with them. The bacon slices were thick and tasty, and my eggs were cooked perfect. We tried the pecan sausage, but didn’t really like them, but others may as it was just our personal taste.

Had a fantastic dinner at Martha’s tonight. Got last reservations at last minute on weekend in color season. Fondue for appetizer is fun for sharing. Wife had best whitefish she ever had. Not on menu. Just ask. I had an excellent shrimp andouille pot pie. They specialize in local wines. I had a glass of red, again not on the menu so ask. Desert was a wonderful almond tiramisu. To cap it off, Martha come by our table with two complimentary glasses of port and sits at our table with us for 15 minutes chatting about food and travel. Great night.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast, so good that we may go back again tomorrow. The coffee is fresh. I got a breakfast burrito which was great. It was big and full of potatoes and had melted cheese on top. My wife got a grilled vegetable, almost skillet, with eggs on top. Vegetables were cooked perfectly and marinated really well. Love this place!

I’d give them a zero if i could… they ran out food, plus the confused staff at the change over from breakfast to lunch was poorly executed …poor service. Stay away spend you money elsewhere.

Our favorite breakfast spot in SB. Today we had deluxe breakfast sandwich(huge) and mine was open face with pesto/greens/eggs/Parmesan yum! So glad they have gluten free options and bread for me. Breakfast is $ 8-$ 10. Yum

My wife had the land of delight sandwich. the Cherry bread was excellent and the turkey and dressing was delicious. unfortunately it was little over toasted .I had the special which was the pulled pork sandwich. the bun again was over toasted and the pork a bit dry, it also had slaw on the sandwich with a good flavor but again a bit dry. …im sorry for the apparent complaining, if in the area we will try again. the flavors were good, the service was great and friendly and we did see quite a great desert case.

I’ve had better experiences here in the past, but this morning was a disappointment. I ordered the potato skillet and some bacon. The skillet was bland. Had to keep putting salt on it, which helped a little. My wife’s breakfast was luke warm, and according to her it was bland. I tried one of my step mom’s cherry sausage links and it was totally bland. Cheap bob evans sausage tastes way better unfortunately. Honestly I was just really surprised at the blandness of things.
Nice lunch spot sat outside on patio service was good we had chicken salad with dried cherries with tarragon which was excellent Also the Zuni wrap which I had but didn’t care for it was s muddle of flavor a turkey and cheese it really didn’t work for me. We also had the blackens fish tacos which were good. Food was ok but no presentation involved sort of plain food

Wow! What a lunch. This little house packs a punch! I first rated this 4 stars, and then asked myself — what’s keeping them from 5, nothing. We had the soup of the day, red pepper cauliflower chowder. Top notch! We ordered a French dip, Marie’s(can’t remember the name but has turkey, avocado, tomatoes, bacon and s jalapeño mayo), Philly steak, and croquet momma(or something like that — fried egg, Swiss cheese sauce and ham). Loved all of them. Plus the wine was good. Will be back.

We were walking around Suttons Bay and stumbled upon Martha’s. The patio was inviting and a great place to enjoy another beautiful northern Michigan summer day. I was going to order the BLT but the sever told me she likes the Santa Fe BLT better as it has jalapeño mayo and avocado on it(along with turkey) and it was grilled on a panini maker. Yum!!! It was delicious! Only kettle chops were served with it. I could eat that sandwich again tomorrow! My sister ordered the special sandwich of the day, a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. She said it was good. My brother in law ordered the Croque Madam. It didn’t look too exciting to me. The service was fair… Seemed a little slow, but when you are just at vacation pace that didn’t matter. I do recommend this bistro!!!

Lovely place for breakfast when you’re in the Sutton’s Bay area. We were looking for a place to eat that was pet friendly since we had our puppy. Walking by we saw a sign right out front that said furry companions were welcome so, one quick glance at the menu and we were in! I can’t speak to the inside since we ate on the patio but the patio itself is beautiful. You’re surrounded by an iron gate, tons of flowers and greenery, and there’s a shade sail over the whole patio so you’re protected by the sun. Fresh air without the burn! The menu is on the smaller side but everything sounds delicious. My boyfriend and mom got the St. Tropez baked eggs(2 scrambled eggs with fresh spinach, bacon, Shetler’s cream, & parmesan cheese) and it was quite good. The eggs were so fluffy and the flavor combos had be reaching for both their plates more than once! I myself got the cherry french toast. I liked it but I was kind of expecting thicker slices, like more of a challah or something. But it was good. Just not sure I’d get it again should we return. I do like that they try and keep things seasonal and local, though! Prices for breakfast were fairly reasonable(about $ 10 – 13 per plate) but maybe on the higher side given the portions. They also serve lunch and dinner and their website tells me they also offer cooking classes which sounds delightful! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area. With or without the dog(who, by the way, had a nice nap under our table as we ate!)

Food is generally very good but service and staff can be hit or miss, docking a star from the rating. We really dislike the high top tables(back killers) and always request a regular table, but we are often seated there anyway — seems like an easy accommodation to grant! On the plus aide: pets are welcome on the patio, and they added an online reservation system that will accept parties fewer than 5 people.
