This was the worst all time experience I have ever encountered in an eating establishment anywhere… Beware, they will actually charge for tap water… to make matters worse it tastes like lead to boot! …they padded the bill and when we asked about it the bartender actually rolled her eyes… Drinks were watered down and overpriced., it actually should be called bandits This is anything BUT a family establishment.
Gratuity charged on parties of 4 +. After the treatment we received it’s no wonder Discourteous and Unprofessional. Will never come back… buyer beware!

Not a fan of a smoke filled bar, but the burgers were really good. We had to wait almost thirty minutes for our food and ended up waiting outside due to the smoke. Service was super friendly. She even brought our food outside to us where we decided to get some fresh air. Probably will not go back inside, but next time we might sit outside and have them come take our order.

I’m a very laid back, nonjudgmental individual and will really eat/​drink anywhere but I strongly advise anyone considering stopping here to run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. We originally stopped here due to the fact that it’s close to the beach, right when we walked in we were turned completely off by the smell so we sat outside. Our water tasted like smoke as well as our jalapeño poppers. Waste of money! I can honestly say I’ve never been as disgusted with an eatery as I was with this establishment.

My family went here for my sister’s 21^st birthday, and from the moment we walked into the door the staff was incredibly rude, and unprofessional. We were treated poorly until we decided to finally take our business elsewhere. I wish we would have read the reviews on this so called establishment before going.

I’m gonna give it five stars because my experience, customer service was cheerful and nice, and that cheeseburger was probably the best thing I’ve ever had in my entire life.

The fact this place has 2 stars is astonishing. I LOVE this place! I’m from San Francisco. Very refreshing to go to place with great hospitality and bomb ass food! Cheeseburger was damn good! Grandma got chicken sandwich on Texas toast that tasted like grilled cheese. It’s a bar and grill on the beach. I don’t know what more the other grumps would expect lol. Thank you for a great meal before my 30 hour road trip back to the city. Definitely recommended.

We were a little nervous to go with all the bad reviews; however we had a great experience. The drinks were strong and not watered down and the food was good. If you’re looking for over friendly service, you won’t find it here; however they were not rude. The food and drinks came in a normal time frame. I would come back.

I enjoy this bar everytime I come in Sunshine always has my drink ready for me before I walk in the door. Marcus always makes the best mouth watering burgers on the island.

Every time we come here now, I leave in a bad mood! The gentleman bartender is a real peach. He has no customer service skills and he makes you feel like an inconvenience instead of someone paying him (and tipping). I go back less and less which is sad because I really enjoy the food and atmosphere. Get rid of the jerk and I think your business will go up!

Tried to go in here with the family and accidentally brought a can of water in. The staff screamed at us about the water and made us leave immediately due to the water can. Meanwhile, they had people smoking pot and out of their mind at the restaurant. Don’t go here with kids!

Wow, what a disappointment! We had been fishing all day on the boat and just wanted some good food and to wind down a bit. It took 10 – 15 minutes before we were given a menu; we weren’t even greeted (they were not packed/​busy). Definitely not a good place to bring your family because they smoke inside. We sat out and discovered most beers and food were no longer available. They ran out of: shrimp, wings, mac n cheese, Angry Orchid, Blue Moon, Dos Equis and more! What kind of restaurant is this? Smh. Should have stocked up for Labor Day! The food was not good. All you can taste in the PoBoy was the bread and lettuce-​seriously. The service was not great either. After she brought us our food she never once came to refill our watered down, not very carbonated sodas (and they didn’t even have sweet tea). The water tasted horrible btw. Better off drinking a water fountain from a park. Once we got the bill, we understood why the service was so crappy – gratuity was already added because we had 3 adults and 2 children. Not to mention the place was filthy and didn’t even have paper towels in the restroom. Would I visit again? Definitely not! And I wouldn’t recommend it to any one either!

The weather was beautiful, the water looks a dark slate blue. Food was okay, but not good enough to make me want to come back. The French Fries were my favorite thing I had to eat.

We were looking for a simple dinner, however before we even entered the front door we were greeted by a truculent bartender explaining why we had to finish our beers before we entered (which we were in the process of doing)! We forgave his pissyness only to realize that he couldn’t even wait to seat us!
You know, I like dives! But, tonight eight people enjoyed dinner down the street where we were enthusiastically welcomed. It must be they don’t need our biz!

Great Burgers! Nice staff and Patrons too! So glad we texted a friend to ask about the food. Almost skipped a great lunch and ice cold beer.

Good little bar/​burger dive. Has a great view of the shore! Owner was very nice and attentive. Don’t think this place is fancy, it’s a easy, laid back dive bar that has a simple selection of drinks and food. Not much of a beer selection, but good enough for a cold one on a hot day! The old man on the grill can make a mean burger! Delicious! Worth the wait. I will be going back whenever I visit surf side. But I would ask the owner to please not let people smoke inside.

Dirty little place. We went on a Monday after July 4^th weekend for lunch. One person working bar and restaurant — took 1.5 hours to get the food and there were only maybe 15 people total in the restaurant. We tried to order BLT — but they were out of bacon. «Busy weekend she said» then about 30 minutes after she took our order she came back to table and said «oh we only have two chicken breasts left and you guys ordered 3» wow and ok. So food finally came — chicken was nasty and salty but the burgers were decent. If you don’t smoke — don’t go there. It smells like smoke when u go in. The server was very nice though. Will never go back

Slow service. Never had our drinks refilled. Food took forever to come out and that’s with the newer quicker chef… don’t waste your money

Terrible food. .Over priced.. The worst service I’ve ever had in my life.. worse than lubys… or beef o bradys… Both of which are awful. Servers argued over questions. We’re overly defensive. .did not know how nor have ingredients to make dunks right. … everything costs more than its worth. .
Turning into another nasty Surfside locals hang out.. Where they turn the page into a smoke chamber and have special cheaper prices just because you live on the island. …so gross. my burger patty was the size of a patty from McDonald’s. .thin gross bacon. For almost $ 10 for a bacon cheese burger meal you expect more. .plus the hot improperly made cocktails and beer… I swear several times j was given beer she rang up wrong took the lid off and left sitting there for hours. …I would never go to this place if you’re looking for a fun time.. How can you have fun if your service is equivalent to a bag of worms.
