If you like drink in an all around great place this is it ! The beer prices are cheap the full bar has anything you might crave and the music is great, open mike night, karaōke and bands one of the few places with entertainment every night of the week in the area

Stopped in Memorial Day weekend to see what this place was about. The food and atmosphere was great. I was worried when I read some reviews that it took forever to get a drink, but realized when I walked in that this was a BAR. When I needed a drink I walked up and ordered it. This is my new spot when headed to Surfside.

We waited like 15 minutes for someone to take our order. Margarita was trash and so were the crawfish. They’re big, but so hard to open. Should have gotten up and left when they I saw that the potatoes and corn were not seasoned. Worse crawfish and service EVER!

Cool little bar/​restaurant. Lots of out of town construction hands. A little diff. To so people bringing their dogs to the bar though. It’s pet friendly.

The boudin balls were amazing and hit the spot. The place isn’t fancy and service isn’t speedy, but we were glad for this roadside stop on the way back from fishing at the pass. The atmosphere is really casual and the patio area was nice. On a Sunday afternoon, they were fairly busy but it didn’t seem crowded.

Went Saturday 1÷30÷16 and service was excruciatingly slow with just one waitress. Food however was stellar. Seafood gumbo and calimari were excellent. Returned today Sunday, the next day, and it was heavily staffed. Drinks and food fast and the crowd was fun and ambiance good. Staff friendly and a great mix of customers… vacationers, bikers, refinery workers, country folk, locals and white collar with everyone having an awesome time and chatting with each other.
Cool outdoor patio and live music at night.
Price…ordered a pound of boiled shrimp, dozen oysters on half shell, calimari, bowl of seafood gumbo, 2 bud lights and two Stella’s for about 55.

I had read the reviews and was expecting bad service but instead had the best service EVER! Was greeted by staff right when we walked in the door. We were constantly checked on by our waitress and never wanted for a thing. Everyone was friendly!!!

Wait staff usually sucks… you could die of thirst waiting for a beer. Good draft beer but it’s better to go to the bar and hope you can get the bartenders attention than wait on one of the girls with bad teeth and tattoos to show up at your table. Food is pretty good, freshest seafood you could ask for and reasonably priced if you can get SOMEBODY to wait on you.

Get an ice cold beer and skip the food! You can’t go wrong there.
When we first started coming here a couple years ago while house searching on Surfside we absolutely loved it. But since then it has gone down hill.
Don’t get the Oysters! Yuck! I’ve never once sent anything back in my life but we literally couldn’t even stand the smell/​look of them at our table. You would think with their location it would be super quality and fresh seafood. Not so much.
Their chicken strips are the only thing craveable to me besides the cold beer.

One word — cat food. I wouldn’t take my worst enemy here because I too would have to wait 2 hours for my crummy food from my lousy server. Who by the way had never heard of Unilocal.It’s the Internet clown get with it. This is the worst excuse for a restaurant I’ve ever seen and I’ve eaten at gas station long john silvers. Please please please don’t eat here, but if you must then please don’t do the 10 for 20 because they acted like it didn’t exist. That 10 bucks would be better spent betting on a three legged horse. I spent 8 hours on the phone with Comcast… freaking Comcast! And I got better service. Do yourself a favor and turn around. Go to the Valero and get a hot dog.

Pier 30 was kind enough to allow a benefit that my friends had put together. Not only did the business allow one of my favorite a Country & Western bands, Cheyenne, who donated their time but two of the bands that were regular house bands, donate their time, too. It was an all day afraid until closing time at midnight.
I have been back a few times but never got to get out of my wheelchair van. Each time, I was brought out food from their grill. The food was good! I am hoping that the next time that we go down to Freeport, I can get my brother & his wife, Lisa & her husband, and Mark & his girl friend to get together and eat lunch, listen to some great music and enjoy everyone’s company.

Great food and good atmosphere. Best time to go is around lunch. Probably the best oysters for 30 miles, fat and fresh. Also they have some of the best burgers around. The Waiters are hit and miss but the food and atmosphere is worth it. Really good micheladas as well,

BEST. CRAWFISH. EVER. I’ve had lots of crawfish in Louisiana and this place trumps there as far as what I’ve had in the past 5 years. Service has a tendency to suck though. Worth the wait.

The Colony, TX
It’s a bar first, so keep that in mind. Specifically, there is no non-​smoking section. We decided to eat outside to keep the air fresh. Six of us, two of which are tweens, came in on a Friday evening around six for burgers. There was a problem with the computers, and a waitress had walked out, so the food was a bit delayed. No worries, though.
Had jalapeño poppers with crab that were quite good and onion rings.
My burger was a Cattleman, which is basically a bacon burger. The buns were fresh and the meat was well-​seasoned. The staff was nice. Between this place and kitty’s purple cow, surfside has burgers covered!

Phenomenal mahi-​mahi, fish and shrimp tacos, fries of both sorts, fried calamari (!!!), fried mushrooms, jalapeño burger!!!
What more could you ask for? Our waitress was new but very nice and helpful. The manager was also courteous and allowed us the use of the Unilocal coupon!
Will be back next time we are in this area on vacation!
