Malibu of Surfside

Wanted reservations for Valentine’s Day. Called 3 days before and they were booked solid. Owner told me they could squeeze us in at 7:15. Arrived on time and we’re seated quickly. Owner came and introduced himself. During the nearly 3 hours we were there it was an enjoyable time. Food was exceptional. Nice portions, cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Owner stopped several times to check on us. Not inexpensive, but definitely one of the nicest places I have eaten in the area. More inclined to go for special occasions than just to eat. Highly recommend for those times.

Amazing-​Veal special Fantastic-​salad, veggies all fresh & delicious. Green beans –yummy!!! Joey with his family own & operate. His mom does all the sauces, soups & homemade desserts. He said that his mom only orders enough veggies for one day-​I could defiantly tell… His step-​father filets all the meat and he & his brother do all the cooking. I was a little scared when we walked in @ 245pm for lunch-​too late for lunch-​too early for dinner… Joey made everything fresh for us including fresh bread in the oven!!!
WOW!!! You must go… we split the veal special got an appy & had more than enough!!!

This blows away any other Italian restaurant in the area. Food is fabulous, wine pours are generous and Giovanni is the greatest. The perfect place for a wonderful dining experience!

My boyfriend took me here for dinner with our two kids. We called to see if we needed a reservation and the man said yes, so I asked when they opened and he asked when I wanted to come in. I said anytime now. it being 430 and he asked how many. I told him four, he said no problem and to come right in and he would work something out. Ten minutes later we were in our seats looking over the menu.
Not a huge menu, which I think is a plus. Lots of tasty choices and about five specials for the day. We settled on calamari to start, which we all enjoyed. While we waited on that, we had bread with oil and balsamic. About three servers addressed us during this time to see that we were well and contented.
They don’t have a kids menu, but they let us split the ziti and exchange green beans for the salad that comes with the entrée. A little spice to the green beans but my daughter loves spice. Al dente beans just the way we like them.
They refilled our bread and brought us salad/​green beans before our entrees and the honey mustard was super tasty. Very fresh salad. All the while, the service was on point.
Our entrees, ziti, lasagna, and shrimp risotto, we’re all delicious. We were surprised to see peas in the lasagna, but tasty none the less. The ziti which was split, was HUGE! Each kid got a plate full of food, so it was a good entrée to split evidently. The staff was also very friendly with our kids and kind to them, so that was an added plus. The shrimp risotto was the favorite of the adults but nothing was less than tasty.
I had read the reviews about dessert and I didn’t want to miss out, so we ordered the cheesecake, made in house, to go on the recommendation of one of our fabulous servers. I just tried it, and like everything else, it tastes amazing. They had lots of topping options, seven I think, and I went with raspberry.
We are here during the off season, so I can only speak to the time we have gone, but I called my folks as soon as we were in the car. They are visiting the area too and I had to tell them of this amazing experience! Thanks to the staff of Malibu of Surfside for making this a superb dining treat!

This is the best Italian restaurant I’ve eaten at. All the food is homemade and not processed. The portions are hearty and you’ll never leave hungry. The atmosphere is comfortable and warm where you can hold a conversation without having to yell. I recommend this establishment to anyone!!!

Please keep this to yourself but this restaurant is absolutely incredible. The service is very good but not the least bit hurried, so relax and enjoy the very best authentic Italian dishes this side of Venice and Florence.
I will be returning often.

We had dinner there this evening. I had read other reviews and was impressed by what others said. Two brothers, Joey and John running the restaurant for their parents. Two words can describe the entire visit, first class. The bread is to die for. My wife had shrimp scampi and I had the grouper with sliced scallops in lemon butter. Their atmosphere is beautiful. It is by far one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Ridiculous. We eat out a lot. I can’t remember ever saying «this the best… insert dish… I’ve ever had» three times in one meal, but I did last night. Best white sauce… best grouper… best cheesecake. Excellent family run restaurant.

Well done ! Fresh homemade. Italian ! You can tell this place takes real pride in there food ! You know when you eat the real thing and this is the real deal!

We just had 2 of the nights specials, eggplant parmesan and bowties in vodka sauce w/​shrimp, simply put it was awesome. .and to top it off we had the cheesecake with 3 toppings, deliciously awesome.

Best Italian I have ever have. Their pork chop with cherry sauce so good. Gnocchi’s were the bomb.

This is honestly the best Italian food we have ever had. My wife had a special stuffed bell peppers with veal pork beef and white onions. It also came with a salad and side of spaghetti. I had the special bow tie pasta with squash topped with butterfly shrimp and a fantastic white sauce. Mine came with a salad. We both had a glass of chianti. It us a family run business. Giannini an owner was the waiter and did a fantastic job explaining the entrees. A definite go to place when in the area.

Great Italian food. The restaurant is full of Brooklynites and Long Islanders, so it must be good. Family-​owned, son is hosting and Mom is cooking.
We had the rice balls and calamari for apps. The rice ball was perfect– stuffed with meat, great crust and fresh marinara on the side. Calamari was cooked right, good texture and flavor.
Our party had a variety of entrees and everyone was very happy with their meal.
We decided to have espresso and dessert (good decision). Strong, not bitter, espresso and amazing desserts. We shared the cheesecake, cannoli and peach parfait. The desserts are as good as everything else.
This might be the best Italian food in the Myrtle Beach area.

Lobster Ravioli w/​grilled shrimp– AMAZING. The bread, sauces, dressings superb!!! I wanted to lick the plate but settled for a spoon!

Excellent Italian food here. Restaurant is family owned and operated by real Italians. They are from Napoli and mom does the cooking. If you ask questions they will tell you not only how the food is prepared but the history behind it. Unfortunately we have only been here twice because we live in Charlotte and have only been to Surfside Beach twice. But we will always come back for more when we have a chance.
This time I had the Grilled Pork Chop which is in a cherry pepper sauce. It is unique and absolutely delicious. It does have a spicy kick so if you don’t like that then I recommend the Tilapia which my wife had on our previous visit. I’m pretty sure all their food is good based on our two visits but really, try the Chop!
I can’t say enough good things – real, authentic, delicious – just go there. I think this must be the best restaurant in Surfside.

We have been to this family owned restaurant 2 times this summer and plan to go back again tomorrow. The food is absolutely amazing!
This is the best Italian Food Ever! So far I’ve tried the Pepper Pork Chop (bone-​in) and the Spaghetti. So Yummy! My husband had the Lasagna and it also was fabulous. We just can’t leave the beach without going there again. I’m craving the Spaghetti.
The service is good. The staff is friendly. And they do take reservations. I highly recommend that you eat at this restaurant. You’ll become addicted also!

We tried to have dinner here before but they were booked solid. There’s a reason! We decided to go down for the weekend and made reservations a couple weeks in advance. I stingily urge you to plan ahead.
When we arrived we were greeted at the door by a young lady. She turned us over to Joey who took care of us from then on. This place appears to be run by Joey, his brother and the chief chef is his Mom. I’m not sure about the last part but I can tell you this is some of the best food I have eaten on the strand.
My wife had the Pork Chop and I had the Lasagna (Made that morning by Joey’s Mom) I am not of Italian blood but, I have learned to judge a good Italian Restaurant by how good the Lasagna is. Let me be clear. Joey’s Mom makes the BEST lasagna I have ever had. It was just awesome.
My bride gave me a rase of her Pork Chop and I have to say it was stellar as well. I really wanted to try the Cheese Cake but was stuffed. I’ll skip lunch next time.
Plan ahead, make reservations and enjoy!!!

The grouper is deliciously done with the perpectly seasons white wine sauce. The bread is wonderful, and the Salad was fresh. A family owned restaurant, the chef came out to greet us. My husband had the lobster ravioli, the sauce was made to perfection. A great find through the review from

This is a lovely restaurant. The owners family waited on us, they were VERY friendly.
The food was amazing. We were too full to try the cheese cake, however with all the wonderful reviews about it, we got a piece to being back to eat later tonight.
We will definitely eat here again when we are in town.
