John’s Cleaners

Wow, prices are crazy high. One suit, One blazer, 4 shirs and 2 pairs of pants for $ 73? I had sticker shock to say the least
I guess the cleaner is OK but I didn’t notice anything special.

This cleaner gets one star for two reasons: 1. John has decent customer service (as in, actually John, not his employees), and 2. I have to select one star for Unilocal.
This cleaner is 0 for 2. The first time I went here I brought my down comforter in to be cleaned. Upon its return, there were blue stains on everything. I declined picking it up and prof and john called, discovered that some zipper had melted and ruined the comforter. He kept the comforter but replaced it with one he guessed was the same amount.
I was nervous about trying them again, but given johns great customer service, I thought, «why not». So I dropped a white dress off that I had worn once before. It had a small red and wine stain on it near the hem. I dropped it off hoping to have it cleaned so I could wear it one night during my wedding weekend. I went to pick it up, and the red wine stain hadn’t even been touched. I pointed this out and the woman said «whoops I guess we missed that!» And then said she would have it fixed right away. Fast forward 2 weeks! TWO! The wedding came and went and no word on the dress. I figured no big deal I’ll wear it on the honeymoon which we leave for in 10 days. So I call the day we get back from the wedding and ask about my dress. Turns out they had misplaced it and it never was sent out to be fixed. Alright, they assure me they will have it ready for the honeymoon.
Now, we leave in 5 days and I show up to pick up the dress. Red wine stain, GONE! Yay! But… Wtf are all the black stains on the skirt of the dress? They fixed one problem and created a bigger one. Now, no dress for honeymoon, original dress is ruined, and I am very disappointed in the service here. I do NOT recommend.
They still have my dress and apparently I’m supposed to get a call from John this week. I commit to posting an update once this has been settled.

I dropped off my suit and a few shirts to prepare for a funeral. Because of a work schedule change, I was in a position where I could not pick up my cleaning before flying out. The people here worked with me and finished the job AND made a special, trip to get my things to me early. Nice work and accomodating. A little pricier than what I’m used to but I’m happy with them.

This is the only cleaners I know of around my house. After reading the previous reviews, I was a little worried dropping off my husband’s wool coat. I was greeted by a nice cashier who gave me a 20% discount they are offering online after finding out it was my first time there. She didn’t need to tell me about it yet she did. That is really great customer service! The pick-​up day was about three days out which could be sooner.
When I returned to pick it up, there was a different cashier and she wasn’t very friendly. She didn’t even say hi before asking for my name (maybe she had a bad day). Before leaving, I checked the jacket thoroughly and it seemed to be cleaned well. It was in a horrible state when I dropped it off, covered in cat hair and dust.
I’m a happy customer to have found a cleaners so close to home!

I’ve only had one problem with John’s Cleaners and it didn’t really bother me that much. I took a dress that had big rhinestones on the front to get dry cleaned for the first time. The lady worned me about damage to the stones because of their machines and she was right. The dress came back great although the stones were discolored and broken. I’ll just have to find new ones to replace.
However, this review isn’t because of the dress. My 3 stars are because of the price. This place is super pricey. So much so that I wait for 20% — 30% coupons to arrive in the mail to go and pick-​up my clothes. Quality is good but not superior than anyone elses… If you find a cheaper place go there and avoid John’s.
