The wife and I have made Prolific Oven a staple for Saturday pre-farmer’s market breakfast. The menu is limited, but consistent. We tend to order the Rivermark Special or an omelet — out of say twenty times, only once have the hash browns or eggs come out cool. Great coffee(altho I avoid the coffee with orange notes — a higher acid than I prefer). Another friend we took there thought it was bland, but I’m an herb person and it all tastes fine to me. They have hired some excellent grill cooks. It’s basically a 21st century diner with a lovely bakery attached. Lots of couples with well behaved children. I purchased a double chocolate cake there for a BBQ and it was a huge hit! I’ve also purchased smaller tarts to take to dinner engagements. They really excel in their baked goods dept! Love the layout, altho the little café Nom next door is having a struggle and I think they share kitchens. I strongly suspect that as Sunnyvale explodes, this will become a keeper. Other stores on the block need to prove their mettle.

Craving for sweets? Coffee? Savory? Well this is your place! Everything here is just what you need for breakfast, brunch and lunch. I wouldn’t say so much for dinner only because it is like a café/lunch style place. Location: its in the heart of Sunnyvale and is in an open faced area where everyone can see it. My friend and I happened to find this place during the art and wine festival and decided this looked like the perfect spot to eat. We got 2 things: eggs Benedict and strawberries & banana waffle. The eggs Benedict was just like any eggs Benedict. Simple english muffin served with poached egg on top and the sauce on top. On the side came with hash browns and fruit. The waffle on the other hand was quite delicious. It was topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream and a fluffy taste to it. I would recommend that one. I had also ordered a iced vanilla latte which was an alright one. I was expecting more since they looked like they wanted to showcase their coffee. They were advertising that they were selling chromatic coffee, which their coffee is amazing. Wish they were stepping up their game on coffee. For breakfast, they only serve it until 3 and we were lucky enough to catch the breakfast time! I like this place for breakfast meals and quick snacks. I wouldnt go for the lunch because i think theyre better at their breakfast instead. This place is fairly yummy and would come back if im craving waffles.

I think this will definitely be a place I’ll be frequenting to do my work… Was looking for a place to do work that closes later than 8pm and stumbled across this one. It’s next to the Sunnyvale station and is close to Starbucks and some other restaurant/café places. It’s a surprisingly large café, and there’s plenty of seating both indoor and in the outside patio area. Lots of natural sunlight as well, which I really liked. I ordered a hot Mexi-chicken sandwich. The presentation was impressive, and they even included a carrot cake slice with the sandwich! The sandwich itself was really good; the chicken wasn’t dry and nicely marinated, and the chiles and chipotle sauce added some great flavor to the sandwich. It also comes with some salsa. The carrot cake was alright. The portion looked small, but I was definitely full when I finished. It was relatively quiet when I went, but that’s because it wasn’t that busy. I really enjoyed my time here, and I could definitely see myself coming here a lot more often!

I ordered a Caesar salad and when I started to eat I found tiny bits of fish scrapings in my salad. It wasn’t even the top half of the fish but rather parts of the bottom half that are brown that some people even discard. Um… are they recycling their salads? I am NEVER coming back here.

Came to size up the cake and found this really a lunch place. The club sandwich was quite good, but the chocolate orange almond cake was too dense for our taste. I used to be so obsessed with cakes from Prolific Oven, then I remember it was the fruit cheese cake that we really like.

Love the Prolific Oven! I started going to the Palo Alto location over 20 years ago and I’m so glad they came down to Santa Clara and now my hometown Sunnyvale since I don’t work up that way anyway more. The sandwiches are bomb and the Chocolate Mocha Cake will forever be the cake that stole my heart! If you enjoy coffee and moist delicious cake with incredible buttery mocha and chocolate fudge frosting, try the mocha cake, you won’t be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite places to study/work! (1) Perfect natural lighting — seriously the best. (2) Never loud besides the casual chitter chatter of other patrons. The music is very mellow and quiet. (3) Plenty of outlets (4) Plenty of LARGE tables (5) Large outside patio area And onto the draaaanks: (1) CHROMATICCOFFEE, YAASS (2) 2 varieties of cold-brewed coffee– a ‘24hr brew’ and a ‘nitro brew’. Only difference is that nitro brew is chilled and served cold without ice, which means MORE coffee and stronger coffee! It’s also a bit creamier and frothier, so I personally enjoy it straight black (3) I also love the Au Laits(brewed coffee with foamy milk) And finally the food: (1) Cakes here are good! Pretty wide selection, available by the slice, ‘small’(6 – 8 large slices), and ‘larger’(~10 slices). A tad bit on the pricier side, but so delicious and very presentable. (2) Never tried the other food, but they offer sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.

Good place to pick up some dessert. We usually come here after dinner and get a couple slices to go. The inventory changes depending on the day of the week and the demand. Certain cakes, like German chocolate, they only get on certain days. They almost always stock carrot cake which is one of my favorite cakes generally and this place does it right(or their vendor does anyway). The slice here is my favorite carrot cake I’ve had anywhere. oddly enough, the slice tastes better than the whole cake. I got a small carrot cake recently and it was over-spiced and the cream frosting between the two layers was far too spare(almost nonexistent) making the cake a little dry. I don’t know if it was an unusual occurrence but I won’t be buying a whole cake again and I had to dock a star for inconsistency.

Good casual place to grab breakfast or brunch. Came here a few times since it’s pretty close by. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Parking is also pretty easy, it’s right in downtown Sunnyvale so couple options around the corners and across the lots. Their cold brew coffee is super strong but good if you need a pick me up! I noticed they have cakes and whatnot so good to pick up quickly but I have yet to do that

This place has great space for a variety of gatherings. Good for family sitting with little ones or two people tables for quiet working. They don’t serve lunch till 11 on weekends, so I had to get something from the breakfast menu. I didn’t mind. I ordered the veggie scramble with sourdough bread. My eggs were a bit runny. I know it’s totally a preference thigh, but I don’t like runny eggs at all. I wasn’t able to eat most of it. However, my fiancé does like runny eggs and he enjoyed them. I enjoyed my soy latte. I’ve been here for lunch a couple of times and liked it. Today the food was not impressive at all. I hope my next visit is better.

I love this place — the interior is so airy and soothing. I think it’s just the perfect spot to hang out and enjoy your seriously caffeinated nitro coffee. I’ve had breakfast here a few times and the portions are extremely generous, so I actually think it’s very good value for your money. And the first time I ordered an almond milk latte, they actually remade it before I even noticed when they realized it wasn’t up to their usual standards. I’ve also purchased a pecan pie and a couple of muffins here for my fiancé and had it shipped all the way to NYC. Even 24 hours later, it was still fresh and he devoured everything! Full disclosure — I know the owner personally and she puts a ridiculous amount of time, energy and thought into running her bakeries. She’s at the different locations 24/7/almost 365 making sure that everything is running as smoothly as possible.

One of my favorite go to lunch spots in Sunnyvale. Their sandwiches are well made, fresh, high quality, and they use amazing fresh baked bread! Their bread really elevates the sandwiches. The french baguette bread is my favorite! Grilled panini’s are crispy, light, and delicious. Salad’s are surprisingly large and fresh, the chicken Gorgonzola is really good and not heavy with generous chicken breast slices. The only downside i see is that the soup is a little bit on the salty side. A great place for a quick bite, meet up, or to work. They have plenty of seating and offer lots of drinks and desserts choices. Just think of this as an upscale Panera, prices are great for what they give you!

I have been here only once to get the chocolate rum cake for a birthday party. I ordered the day before and it was ready to be picked up next day. The whole process was seamless. The cake was definitely awesome as mentioned in other reviews. They also had samples of a strawberry mousse cake at the counter which was very good as well. Parking can be tricky here since its in the downtown area. I will definitely come back here again to try the other items on their menu.

My husband and I stopped by here for a late lunch today. They had a lot of tasty options on the menu I had to take a while to decide what to get. My husband decided quickly in the tacino club panini. I wanted a salad or pasta so we were like«let’s get it all»(to share of course.” I ordered the chipotle chicken pasta and the lunch special salad to share. Then we saw the dessert display and caved and got a slice of the orange almond cake. You order, get a buzzer, find a seat and wait for the food to be ready. The panini came with a small slice of chocolate cake. Both were delicious. My husband really enjoyed his panini. He saved a half for a little snack later tonight and is pretty stoked about it. The chocolate cake was moist and on point. I only had one bite of it because my husband ate it all. The chipotle chicken pasta was very tasty. Nice spices. I tasted a little Asian flare in it. They were generous on the chicken portions. Very satisfying. The salad was very refreshing, not on their regular menu. Also extremely generous on the chicken portion. We loved the Orange almond cake. Moist, great flavored. The frosting was bomb. The service in front was nice and courteous. The place had a nice vibe. Pretty quiet. There were a lot of people here with their laptops. I assume it’s a popular spot to come for a bite to eat and work. I’d definitely return here again in the future.

Good, but nothing worth coming back for. Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Service: The waitresses there were a bit of a mess– they had issues when I wanted to add bacon(couldn’t be inside the omelette) and when I didn’t want potatoes. Also they poured a nitro cold brew instead of a standard and just left the cup on the back counter, while I stood in front of them and had to explicitly ask why my coffee was still sitting in the back. I got a California omelette with bacon(forced to be on the side) and my brother got the French toast. The best way I can describe this is that it was just… food. It was mechanically well executed, but nothing worth applauding. The eggs were the way you expect someone who makes eggs well to do, with the tomato and avocado laid neatly inside, under salted and the cheese was so super evenly melted over the top. The toast was technically perfectly done, but it was just toast. The space is very nice and let’s in a lot of light. Plenty of outdoor seating and I expect the fairy lights strung up later in the day would be great. Have yet to try the pastries. Maybe they’ll be this place’s saving grace.

Love it. Lots of space for families and friends to sit and enjoy some great pastries. The selection is neat and has variety which is enough for every person to choose from. Their éclair’s are amazing; thick and sweet cream filled with delicious dark chocolate covering the top. Their cream puffs are good as well as their other pastries! Seating and breathing room is key here. The store has high ceilings and lots of windows to provide that natural light. Coffee here is being served from Chromatic which is nice because it’s local! Chromatic brew would go great with their pastry selections! (Not to sure where their trash cans are though lol. Didn’t find a place to throw my plates lol)

Beautiful new space with the same great food, cakes, coffee, and service. Get the nitro cold brew. You will not regret it. And my gut shakes its fist at those damn chocolate chip cookies!
