Sunnyvale Art Gallery is a cozy place for writers and musicians. Open Mic every Thursday for music and writings. A veritable emporium for artists and a place to find gifts. You’ll find flowers and bouquets, a big space for viewing art and holding open mic nights, a quiet section to read, a cozy area for chatting and having a bite to eat, as well as a nook for art supplies. It’s a place to find something special for your loved ones and a place to share and be creative.

Parking here is fairly easy(at least today. pretty empty). The drinks menu is pretty simple, but there’s lots of seating and the environment is so calming and peaceful — perfect place to study for! A regular hot americano is 2 $ even; it’s a good deal! It’s a big place with lots of different types of art. There’s a section that sells different varieties of flowers, and a huge section that displays different and unique art(with prices and description listed next to each). If you see an artist wandering around, talk to them and see which one they drew. Ask them how long it took them — it’ll shock you. One artist told me it took him a few months on and off just to draw a painting. Major props. All the art here is pricey but you get what you paid for — quality art. 5 stats.

Cool concept, food fun crowd and showing off local art! You can buy art supplies and enjoy a coffee drink while looking at lots of art! It’s really nice in here a good first date kinda vibe. I brought my daughter over who loves art and coffee so it was a perfect father and daughter date! We will go back to review new art next month!

Great food… great atmosphere, one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had, made just like I asked and in a timely manner. Good parking, friendly staff. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this establishment! Next time I need to try more snacks, maybe bring more people so we can get a larger selection

I love this place. Relaxing atmosphere and attentive stuff taking an extra steps to meet customer’s expectations. Food is delicious, always get coffee exactly as I ask — with extra milk. Thank you, guys! I will be back soon.

I was a participant in Open Studios one summer recently, and took space here. The woman running the space rentals tried to charge me twice for the same space. I had to dispute her second charge submittal on my credit card. Guess she didn’t like my wood collage art. Before last years open studios, she called me and asked mockingly if i was going to rent some of her space that year, then laughed at me. This organization does NOT support artists — unless they paint. They should be removed from Open Studios this summer. Great for coffee I see from the reviews! Not so much the art part! LOLLOL

Right flower store didn’t actually make it to the store but I’ve been there for a coffee like months… years ago maybe… It was when they first started around the cyber caffe oo. The second time I went by this artsy café’ it was nice & vacant a little too quite

This place is a very neat establishment. I came to just have coffee while waiting for some maintenance on my car but got so much more. This establishment is a coffee shop, art exhibit, and flower shop all in one. The current exhibit features a pool of artwork from 5 different local Bay Area high schools. I must say these students are quite creative and have inspired me. I learned that the exhibits usually rotate every month or few months, so the gallery can stay fresh. Also, with the previous exhibit(jigsaw-themed), if a visitor desired to buy an artist’s piece, the proceeds helped benefit charity(2nd Food Harvest Bank IIRC). The majority of my time was at the exhibit, but my short stay at the coffee shop was good too. I ordered a large warm mocha which I had the pleasure of enjoying while reading and relaxing on their comfy couches. My one suggestion/critique/hope for this place is more accessibility with the hours. It would be awesome to have this place be available earlier and/or later in the day.

I wish I had realized that this place was around the corner from my hotel a little sooner. It’s this strange hybrid of a flower shop and café, which is probably confusing from a branding standpoint, but the café area is beautiful, they stock a number of organic teas and(though I didn’t try them) seem to have some excellent sandwich choices. But the big, big win is the atmosphere. You’ve got soothing music(at a low enough volume that if you choose headphones you won’t go deaf), running water, a beautiful wooded vibe, a number of plug-ins, quality wifi – and the barista was very nice. Chai latte was tasty, though maybe could have been a bit hotter – I did let it sit for 5 minutes, but with a closed cap it shouldn’t have cooled off too much. All in all, superb, though. Will likely be back tomorrow.

Quiet with a bit of chatter. more crowded on weekends. Service is direct and effecient but i’ve just got coffee. Not as warm meet and greet as say a starbucks. Spacious area nice art in back, Tons of flowers. Large open windows up front. Relaxing and a good place if you want to find a place in the area to sit back awhile and read or whatever and have your coffee. The art is for sale as well as on view so if you are trying to go a step above prints this is the place for it. The first time i was here there was a guy set up with a chess board in the side seating area(yes they have two rooms to sit that are open through a center lobby area). I didn’t jump to play as he didn’t seem to have a clock but its that kind of place and I saw he got a game a few minutes later. Would be five stars if the service was a little more outgoing.

Interesting place. I came here with a group of ladies for a coffee date last Tuesday mid-morning. It’s a little café in the front, there’s a reading room, an art gallery, a florist area, and an area to buy arts supplies. It took a while for the barista to get all our coffees to us, but that was okay. It’s a nice place to hang out for a while on the couches, and it looked like it had free wi-fi. There weren’t much food options, though– I only saw some muffins and things. The coffee was good. I was just kind of confused by the eclectic mix of the rest of the building, and just did a once-around.

Went here for an event and had a sandwich and hot green tea. They were delicious! Café is cute, reasonably priced and the server was friendly. There are some pictures on the wall in the«gallery» and some flowers for sale just inside but the café is what gets the 4 star rating.

This is definitely one of the hidden gems in Sunnyvale, from the outside it doesn’t look like much, just an old studio. On the inside they have paintings from local artists for sale, a flower boutique, and a small café. The art is really good, I was impressed with the different styles of painting. The café serves sandwiches and coffee, the sandwiches are huge and enough to split. A really nice, quiet, simple café for lounging and working, My only complaint is that they don’t have A/C so it gets hot during the summers.

My favorite locally owned coffee shop! I have been a regular since it opened back in 2010. Even when I left to go to school out-of-state, I would return to SVAG to study and write during my breaks. Tim, the owner, works really hard to accommodate and please his customers. SVAG is a quaint, quirky, and eclectic space with a good selection of beverages and food. SVAG is going through some revamping and are adding new community events to their schedule including movie screenings and readings that are open to the public. I really love and appreciate that! Our community needs more spaces to gather and I think SVAG is a great place to start.

Its been about a year and a half of knowing the sunnyvale art gallery, which I now know as the Canvas Open Mic. If you are looking for a relaxing place to enjoy a cup of coffee, or if you have any artistic skills or talents, or just want to meet some really down to earth people this is a good place to come for some artistic, clean fun. If you would like to find musicians who are willing to collaborate you should definitely try to make The Canvas your family. I was a stranger, and I have no talent but I love it here. I love the coffee, the food, events and the people. Sometimes they can get a little big headed due to the local fame, but that makes them a bit awesome too. Music and good food, what is there to dislike?

It’s such a shame that I lived right around the corner for so long and didn’t discover this awesome lil café until this spring. I love it. Where else can you find, all in the same open building, a great café with lunch and coffee, an artist’s retreat, studio and supply store, and a florist?! I can’t think of one. In addition, Tim, the guy who runs the front of the café, is so nice. Tim makes me coffee that I like, and I don’t even drink coffee. Today for lunch, I had a waffle sandwich and it was tasty! My lunch buddy also likes this lil café and all of it’s offerings. They have a comfortable feel with couches, tables and hidden types nooks. It’s a great place for a lunch date, book club or any type of gathering. It’s worth trying again and again if you mess-up on their somewhat limited hours. Definitely see ya there!

This review is for my most recent visit. I go here regularly and am a fan of this place. I like the ambiance and how relaxed it is. However, I have been disappointed by the service more than once — there seems to be a revolving door of employees — and some of the servers are very cocky — not sure why. More interested in being cool, than making sure the customer orders are well taken care of. I ordered a chinese chicken salad to go. I really like(d) this salad — and it has been my go to item. I will at times drive out of my way to get one — it always seems fresh and well made. The dressing makes this salad so good. I called to place my order– they put me on hold for a long time, and then hung up on me. Called again — was made to hold again but they finally got to me. I placed the order — Chinese Chicken Salad — dressing on the side(gets too soggy if all mixed up). The last time I placed the order they had forgotten to add the crunchy little wontons on top. So I reminded them to remember the crispy wontons… Simple enough. Got there, no meal. They apologized that the item was not ready as yet(they had not even started making it). Said things were busy(but there were only a quarter or maybe a third full, No line of people or anything). Anyway, waited 10 mins for the order. I paid and took the packed box. Asked if the dressing was on the side, and they said, «yes, it’s inside». Got home — no dressing. And barely any crunchy things on top. Honestly, the best part of eating a Chinese Chicken salad is the sesame ginger dressing and crunchy wonton topping. Without the dressing, it’s leaves out of a bag with some chicken on top. I don’t need to make a trip here for that — any fast food place will serve leaves with grilled chicken. Very disappointing. The chicken was kind of gross as well, had a strange taste like it was blackened chicken. The grilled chicken on the salad is usually freshly grilled white meat, and the meat is freshly made and warm. This was not all white meat, and did not taste fresh at all. Very chewy and gritly. Hard to eat this salad. If you eat the salad in the restaurant, they garnish it with oranges — which also adds a nice finishing touch to the salad. Makes it a little special. No dressing, no oranges. A smattering of tiny crunchy things(less than 10). Most annoyed because I reminded them more than once. If a regular customer says they really like the dressing and crunchy things, most people would go out of their way to make sure a generous amount was packed in. Last time I got the salad — it was missing the crunchy things — did not know this till I got home… I mentioned it to them(after the fact) — and the response of the server was to look at me with a bored shrug. No apology or anything. No offer of anything at all to make up for it. I thought I’d provide the feedback to them directly. Second time, feedback goes on Unilocal. There won’t be a third time, coz I will be getting my salads eleswhere. I will go back here but will get something else. Please Sunnyvale Arts Café, a little more attention to service and taking care of the people who patronize your lovely café. This is too nice a place to be marred by poor service.

New favorite place to get work done on the weekends :) + free wireless internet + not too busy on a Saturday afternoon so I was able to grab a table right next to the outlets to plug in my laptop + yummy Korean BBQ sandwich(the Da Vinci) + latte art(if they did the kitty face like at Urth Caffe down in LA, I would die) + super nice people behind the counter
