Wife brought me here as she works near by. I have to say this place is a win for me. I just find it hard to give 5 stars. I was never a fan of Orenchi and preferred Misoya but they’ve seeming fallen off since they opened their SF location. Myzen is near my house, the prices are comparable to other Ramen shops. The staff is friendly, service is fast, and food comes out hot. I’m not just saying that either. The tea, karage, and Ramen were too hot to consume and had to cool a bit, which would be my only complaint if that is even a complaint. Your usual stuff, theyre not trying to do anything too fancy or trying too hard. They know what people want and they make it right. I had the Miso, wife had the Myzen, we shared the karage and all were excellent. We will be back.

My second favorite ramen spot. I always get the Myzen ramen spicy, with extra noodles and it’s super fulfilling! I’ve also had the takoyaki and it’s so yummy too! I always get amazed when the flakes(whatever they’re called) dance around. 5 stars cause food is great and service is too. Food also comes out really fast. Only con is parking sucks!!!

I would say the Ramen itself warrants a 3* rating. It is a tasty bowl of ramen with good noodles, but the broth is lacking that viscous thickness so distinctive of great tonkotsu. The egg was also overcooked and not runny at all. However, I give an extra star for great, warm and friendly service. The takoyaki and duck fried rice were also both great.

I think I found one of my favorite go-to ramen spots in the South Bay. Step aside Orenchi. You may have found a contender. Lo and behold, Myzen is a winner in my book. I almost didn’t want to write a review in hopes I can keep this under wraps. Of course, I can’t! I know most people enjoy dining at Orenchi. However, Myzen comes in 2nd place. Sorry, Santouka remains #1. The reason why I enjoy this place, I was utterly surprised when I showed up, expecting a line. Each visit, no line! Compared to Orenchi, you end up with a 1 to 2 hour wait. Myzen, no wait time! That is if you, decide to come around 6−7pm during dinner rush hour. Anyway, each time I’ve dined here, I enjoyed their Myzen, Miso and Curry ramen. All in all, I loved each flavored broth. However, if I had to choose, curry is my favorite. Why? The broth is thicken with flavor and much different in comparison to a few ramen spots around the South Bay. The downside to this place, they charge you for a side of garlic. Boo!!! That’s lame. Also, the amount of chicken karaage they serve, not enough. Plus it’s not as good as how Orenchi makes it. I mainly would come back here for their ramen. If you don’t have the patience to wait in line for great tasting ramen at Orenchi, I highly suggest to check this place out. Can’t wait to try their rice bowls. Mmm… now I want to go back! I approve Myzen!

FINALLY! A ramen shop that’s close to home, doesn’t have a ridiculous wait, AND serves a fantastic bowl of ramen. Myzen is quite the hidden gem, being located on Lawrence right next to 24. It’s in a rather unassuming spot for a ramen restaurant, but what a pleasant surprise! I came here with Tammy N. for dinner on a Monday, and we were able to snag a seat right away. We started off with the takoyaki, which came out piping hot and fresh. I ordered the Myzen ramen, which is their tonkotsu broth. It was creamy and slightly sweet, and not too salty either — just the way I like it. My friend ordered the curry ramen, which she also enjoyed. Service was prompt, prices were fair, and the food was delicious. I think it’s safe to say that Myzen will become one of my go-to ramen spots.

Came back here for the second time and I left I unsatisfied. Portions were still up to par but the broth tasted off this time. I’m not sure how to describe it but it tasted a little sour and lacked a bit of flavor from the first time. I probably won’t be back anytime soon. Noodles were great though. I initially ordered extra noodles in my bowl but they made the mistake of putting it in my boyfriends bowl instead so they gave me another side of extra noodle for free of charge.

Curry ramen is delicious but expensive. Shio wad solid. Fried Tofu app — pass. Would return.

This little hidden ramen gem is tucked away in a small plaza off Lawrence expressway. I didn’t even know it existed let alone is smack dab next to 24, the very gym I used to work out at. I stopped by here twice in one week and both times I ordered the #1 Myzen Ramen! The broth is more on the creamy side but delicious nonetheless. The soft boiled egg was flavorful and made to perfection. The chicken karaage was good, but nothing memorable. The wooden spoons are a nice touch but a little difficult to eat with. Overall it’s a nice place wth no wait both times I went and is decently priced. Convenient place with quick service and little to no wait! Will be back soon!

This place is a good stop for lunch. As a vegetarian, there are only a few options here without meat, but that’s not really the restaurant’s fault. There are a bunch of great looking appetizers but I didn’t order any. The waiter was patient and let me know they could make the curry without meat but couldn’t make a vegetarian ramen. I was content with that. The wait in line wasn’t that long during peak lunch hour. I think we asked for water but they probably were too busy and forgot, so we just had food. The curry with vegetables and rice was really tasty. It’s a pretty typical Japanese curry. All in all the overall experience was decent and the food was good.

I met up with two friends here for lunch on a Wednesday and this parking lot was full. I was lucky enough to find a spot and went inside to add my name to their clipboard. The restaurant was small and a lot of people were here. We waited probably ten minutes before we were seated. The menu had five different kinds of ramen to choose from: Myzen Ramen($ 10.95), Shoyu Ramen($ 9.95), Shio Ramen($ 9.95), Miso Ramen($ 9.95), and Curry Ramen($ 12.95). We all ordered the Myzen Ramen and shared a Chicken Karaage($ 5.99). They had other appetizers and rice bowls on the menu as well. The Myzen Ramen was good and the broth was tasty to me. It was like other tonkotsu broths I’ve had in the past. The Chicken Karaage was good with the sauce it came with and hot temperature-wise. I would recommend either of those to try. Good ramen place!

Solid ramen place in the area. Be prepared for wait during lunch! We got here at 11:45 and had to wait a good 15 minutes before being seated(people that came later had to wait even longer!). The Myzen Ramen: Good tonkotsu broth with a perfectly cooked egg, but definitely not the best I’ve had in the area! Orenchi, Santouka, and Halu are still my top three in the south bay! Takoyaki — delicious! Good amount of octopus — and perfect amount of sauce!

This place was just ok in my opinion. I wish the soup itself was much much hotter. It was a cool crisp day and hot soup would have made my day. I got the shio ramen. The soup base itself was tasty and no too salty as some other ramen restaurants. The noodles were thick and on the soft side. Presentation was on point. The soft boil egg was slightly over done, the yolk was only ¼ gooey. The price was alright for the amount of food. $ 9.95. By ¾ of the way through my ramen I was full, so that’s good. The interior is small and cozy. Lots of lighting. However when the door is opened the cold breeze came in and was very chilly. Their service could have been better too, not once were we asked if our meal was good or given a water/tea refill; and it took a little while for our ramen to be served to us. A little disappointed in the service.

This place is OK. I wouldn’t mind coming back here for a quick ramen fix. Ive had their Myzen ramen and finished the whole thing. I thought it was good… or maybe I was just starving? Nonetheless I’ve had better. Kotetsu and Orenchi are my go-to ramen in the area along with Santouka and Ajisen. I also ordered their cucumber salad. Very small serving and nothing special. I wouldn’t order it again. The staff could work on their customer service a bit more. We came in around the time they opened and saw 2 other customers seated and a full staff up front, but we were not greeted right away.

I’m very impressed and so happy to have learned of this place. After spending a couple years working in Japan I’ve unwillingly become a ramen snob and mope around the Bay Area wishing I can have certain foods at a whim like walking into a CoCo Curry to get some nice Katsu Curry. Well, those days are over! Hidden away in a typical Silicon Valley strip mall is Mizen Ramen which is really doing a great job of producing a product very similar to the typical lunch menu experience in Tokyo. The Ramen is not overly strong like most places in the region and their menu has a few of the other goodies you will come to love. The dining room is also a good layout. Seats around the room for groups and a nice tall bar for when you are on your own and need to focus on your ramen like a pro. I’ve only been here once, but this will become my go to spot for Ramen and Curry!

Parking: parking lot is shared with other businesses. Lots of cars during dinner time as well as large FedEx trucks unloading and blocking the lot to drive through. Meal: Shoyu Ramen, Spicy Level HIGH. I always save my soft boiled egg for last. It was still nice and gooey for the egg yolk, yea! I’m not used to having corn in my shoyu ramen, so I was a bit surprised. It wasn’t bad, but it would be something I’d ask for none of next time. The green onions were fresh, and I like my bowl full of it. WiFi: NONE Side Note: I’m coming back to try the Takoyaki and Chicken Karaage next time: D, was still sick when I had dinner, so ramen and a good broth was what this sick girl had needed.

Delicious! Would love to come back when I am in the area.(: Décor is nice, clean, and smelled good! The server was really nice and accommodating and the wait was minimal for lunchtime on a weekday. For appetizers we ordered the agedashi tofu, lotus, and fried squid legs. All were tasty and yummy. My only complaint was that the fried squid legs(though cooked perfectly) were a bit oily. It came with a mound of cabbage next to the legs but it would’ve been better served underneath the squid so that it wasn’t sitting in a pool of oil. For the main attraction(the ramen, of course!) I had the Tonkatsu Myzen Ramen while my sister had the Curry Ramen and the boyfriend had a veggie curry plate. Through they usually serve the curry plate with pork(so not completely vegetarian) the server was super accommodating and checked to see if they can get it completely veggie for him. All in all, the boyfriend loved his dish and gobbled it up! My ramen noodles had a nice chew, great thickness, and the broth was super flavorful! I think I let my egg sit and boil a little too long so it was still custardy, but less runny than I would’ve liked. So protip: eat the egg first! Also, I often find that the corn addition in ramen to be out of place but it was included in my ramen and seemed to fit perfect in texture and in taste! Overall, I’d say all the dishes were pretty good, everyone at the table enjoyed their food and we were so full by the end of everything! Love the variety of appetizers they offered. Service was also good– our server came to fill our glasses often and even the owner(at least that who I assumed she was) came to check on us twice!

I’m so happy to have found a good ramen place relatively nearby where I currently live(in Monterey). My dad and I came here on a Saturday afternoon 30 minutes before they closed for the afternoon and was seated quickly. The place was packed and more people were coming in even after we were seated. I ordered the Myzen ramen which had a tonkotsu broth base(my favorite). The broth was rich and very flavorful. My dad loved it. He thought it was one of the best he’s had. The ramen was served with a soft boiled egg and some pork, bamboo shoots, and also corn. It was totally straight forward ramen and I couldn’t have asked for more. Service was quick and friendly and I couldn’t ask for more. I will definitely be coming back to get my ramen fix and to try other dishes.

I will definitely be coming back. It’s refreshing to find a good ramen place in Sunnyvale. In my opinion it rivals even Santouka and Orenchi, but without the ridiculous lines. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were seated immediately. For appetizers, we ordered gyoza for comparison and wasabi shrimp for something new. The gyoza were some of the freshest and tastiest I’ve had in a while, barring dumpling houses that specialize in gyoza. The shrimp wasabi was less impressive. The shrimp were perfect but I’m not a fan of the heavy mayo wasabi sauce. At sushi restaurants I usually opt for straight sashimi or nigiri and generally don’t order rolls with sauce so this is more of a personal preference. If you like wasabi-mayo sauce, you’ll probably love the shrimp wasabi. I had the Myzen ramen, spicy mild with extra chashu. The noodles and the soft boiled egg were perfect. Two of the chashu pieces were a little tough while the other two were amazing and practically fell apart in my mouth. I can’t be sure because I put the extra pieces in my soup, but I think the extra chashu were the ones cooked to perfection. I’ll just continue to order an extra side to be safe. ;) I also sampled the miso ramen my boyfriend ordered and the broth was very good. I prefer the flavor of the Myzen, but the miso can certainly enter the rotation.

My name is Jem, and I’m a ramenholic. I love ramen. Oh my gosh. I know it’s bad but I can have ramen every day. Even the weather is hot, I will still have a ramen. Well, this morning it was raining. I didn’t see it coming. I was craving for something hot. Even though I had ramen last night, I still Unilocal for ramen close to my whereabouts. I was very happy to find this place. They just opened recently, I should give it a try! Five minutes after they opened the restaurant, i was at their doorstep. Oh my, it’s already full of people in a matter of five minutes! I was by myself and happy to spot that they have a place designated for people dining alone! II think that is brilliant and it’s good during rush hour for single person diners. I ordered the original Myzen ramen and waited for few minutes. They will ask you if you want anything to drink. They do serve tea. Once my ramen arrived, the scent was really good. I immediately tasted the soup and oh wow, it’s really good! Noodles were cooked to perfection, chashu pork was just okay, eggs were cooked nicely. Oh my… just thinking about it right now wanted me to have a ramen. Whether my nutritionist will try to stop me upon having ramen, I will still sneak at this place. I’m glad I don’t live close by but I will give it a try again if I’ll be around the area.

The new kid on the block, well 4 month or so new at the date of this review. When you walk in the décor is very clean, and the place even smells new, like fresh cut wood. We came here for lunch on a Tuuuesday at noon, it was busy but there were still a few open tables by the time we left it was full. We had the following items Takowasa(raw octopus in wasabi sauce) 4 stars Agedashi Tofu — 4 stars Miso ramen — 4 stars, nice rich broth and thick chewy noodles Tonkotsu ramen — i only had a sip but the broth was not as flavorful or rich as the miso ramen. I like the noodles here, they are maybe thicker than any other spot in the bay area i’ve tried. My ramen noodle pref is the chewy curly noodles, the hakata style white straight noodles i’m no fan of. The others at our table agreed that this place is just as good or better than Ramen Seas. Give them a try if you’re in the area. OO an we spotted saw japanese workers here :)
