Stale pastries. Saw this on my way out of the UPS store next door and dropped in. Bought a chocolate éclair and Napoleon. Both were stale and soggy. I wonder how old they are. Also, sounds like they keep pet birds in the back. Very loud singing birds. Health inspection anyone?

Selling expired food! I just walked in at 9:30am with my super pregnant wife who wanted chocolate croissants. We had some bites of the croissant and realized it was as hard as a rock. I go back to the store and asked the guy to trade for new fresh ones and he said there aren’t any, they are all from yesterday, but he could reheat it. Are you kidding me??? Being surrounded of supermarkets such as Safeway it’s a shame to come to the conclusion that any boxed and preserved pastry sold in supermarkets are way more sanitary and fresher than you’d expect from a bakery. Good luck If you ever eat from LaMiche, they definitely lost us as customers today!

I found them on . We were visiting from out of town, Very slowwwwwwww service. When we went in we were not greeted. We had to ring a bell for her to come out from the back. We ordered two coffees and two sandwiches. It took her 15 minutes to make the coffees and another 15 minutes to make the sandwiches. The sandwiches was something that I could make my self at home. Very little of everything. I also did not like that after she made our sandwiches she went in the back once again. We had to ring the bell again. Very impersonal and not positive customer service

Excellent place. Have bought birthday cakes, chocolate danish, and Napoleons! All terrific and they even put a cake together for me on one hour’s notice(so grateful). Only Bakery I use for most occasions!

I walked in here yesterday and walked right out before I could even look at the menu. There was a cockroach crawling above the menu on the wall!!! No one was even at the counter to greet me either. I can’t say much for the food, but if you prefer to dine at a place that is cockroach-free, do not go here.

I used to stop here for Napoleons. The last one I bought was not only disgusting, it was insulting. There were four in the display case, and they looked fresh. I ordered one to go, and the owner said he had some he’d JUSTMADE in the back. I said ok, and he went to get one. When he handed me the little paper bag, it felt mushy, but I didn’t look inside(big mistake). When I got it home, it was obvious it was made at least 2 or 3 days ago. The entire thing was mushy and there was no glaze on the top(the ones in the case had glaze). Soggy puff pastry is nauseating. I still don’t understand why he would do that, as I’ve been going there for years. That’s the insulting part. Needless to say, I wouldn’t go back for anything under the sun.

Damn no cheese danishes. But they did have an apricot one. Got that and an apple turnover. It’s old school and hidden behind the Indian resto here. I like old places that do stuff by hand. It’s a lost and dying craft

I hate to give a bad review to a small business but this place was really not even trying. With a name like French bakery you have to have at least somewhat decent pastries and coffee. I couldn’t eat the pastry or even drink the moldy coffee after I had ordered it to go.

Great place. The owner’s name escapes me, but I used to go here at least once, often twice a week with a friend of mine. The brioche is great, I like the peach one personally, and the croissants are good too — the ham and cheese ones are great and very filling. The baguettes are great, too — fresh baked twice a day.(We used to call ahead as they seemed to sell out fast in the morning, so we’d aim for the afternoon lot.)

I really don’t like being charged more than the advertised amount. It feels dishonest or disingenuous. It may be a small amount of money but I was charged 10% more than displayed on the price list for a rather disappointing cappuccino served in a paper cup with a plastic slippy which was to be consumed in the café. The cappuccino I order more closely resembled a latte. I actually watched the person preparing the drink pour mainly hot milk rather than scraping foamed milk into the cup.

Best cakes ever and some of the best pastries. Everything is freshly made every morning. The owner prepares and makes all the goodies. Highly recommended

The sandwiches are large and filling… They offer half sandwiches as well… I feel like I’m at home when I order and eat here! There is a simple laid out menu to pick from, but I’m picky and take out and add condiments from the list. LoL. And the lady helping me was so sweet and customized it a little. I’m so simple when it comes to my sandwiches! But overall I love their stuff! (Just a note: I haven’t tried their pastries. Just the sandwiches.)

I stumbled upon this little bakery while I was dropping some packages off at UPS on my lunch break. It was very quiet at the time I was there, doesn’t seem like they get much foot traffic. That day I bought the Chicken almond sandwich and ham and cheese croissant for later. The sandwich was not bad, it was a bit wet and messy, but the flavor was good. I loved the ham and cheese croissant though. It’s very different from any croissant I’ve ever had and just came out of the oven. It was like a fluffy cream cheese filling with the ham. It peaked my interest to try out some of their other croissant and baked goods.

service was friendly but that does not make up for the bland tuna sandwich and wet bread. not kind of wet, saturated. the pastries taste off.

I’ve walked by this bakery many times and decided to give it a try — it was a little underwhelming, but not terrible. We got a loaf of bread from here and a few pastries. One was a chocolate dipped cookie which was okay and the other was an apple croissant which was also alright.

Popped in for something sweet one afternoon before hitting Felipe’s Market next door for some produce. Possibly the worst danish I have ever tasted. The pastry part was the weirdest texture — mushy and doughy, and it lacks any hint of butter. In hindsight, I probably should have listened to my instinct and walked away, because nothing looked very enticing to me while I was trying to decide what to have. Everything in the display case just looked either stale or sloppily-made. Had never tried their sandwiches, but based on this experience, I doubt I’d be coming back any time soon.

I stepped in here one late afternoon to have something light. I ordered a vegetarian half sandwich on rye bread for 3.75 $ and it was awesome. The bread was very soft and freshly prepared and had a variety of vegetables and cheese. I bought a french baguette which was pretty good. I also ordered a brownie and apricot turnover and they were not so great.

This place is terrible. The seating is a joke, the pastries are just weird tasting, and the coffee is so-so. The only good thing I can say is that the service was friendly, but that doesn’t make up for the food. Sorry, La Miche, but you’re going to have to improve your food a LOT before I come back.

Absolutely appalling. They should be arrested for using a French name to peddle stale, doughy rolls masquerading as croissants. We got 2 «croissants» and chucked them in the garbage after one bite. Mine was a 3-day old dinner roll with a chunk of cream cheese and Safeway sliced ham inside. Not sure how this place is in business.

Yyyyea no. I had some time to kill before an appt to get a pedicure at the neighboring salon so I stopped by La Miche for a quick bite. I decided to get a pastrami sandwich on wheat. Bad choice. There was an odd smell… like the meat and cheese smelled and tasted a bit old. Not spoiled. but just unfresh.old. Offputting to say the least. The bakery also didn’t look very clean… Take my review with a grain of salt. I should try some of their baked goods for a more well-rounded review… but hey, if they’re offering sandwiches they should serve it right. No one wants a stale old sandwich.

Came in during lunch. I like that they have the lunch special for any sandwich, chips and soda or coffee it’s only 6.50! I had a Turkey and avocado sandwich, but was sad because when I brought it home I realized there weren’t sprouts in it like the description said it came with. The sandwich was good and the sourdough I had was pretty good. Instead of having sodas, we had alternate drinks, which the cashier didn’t get for us… so we were waiting there after getting our sandwiches to have the sandwich lady finally notice. I also tried an Almond twist that was good and not too sweet. The boyfriend had an Apple croissant that was not like a croissant at all! It was more like bread with apple filling in it. It wasn’t flaky and buttery like a pastry.

I only come here when I use an coupon which takes $ 5 off the price of 2 sandwiches. I like: – chicken almond – turkey avocado a small but decent place for just hanging out. I used to live down the street, so it’s convenient.
