Elite Event: A Beer A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

I had the pleasure of photographing this fun Elite event (hope you guys like the shots!).
Aside from the obvious benefits of a photogenic crowd, it was great to be introduced to a new option for medical services in the South Bay!
As someone who rarely visits a doctor and who lived in the Bay Area, moved away, and recently returned, the last time I was sick, I embarrassingly had to call my old pediatrician and beg for an appointment because I hadn’t built medical history with anyone else and couldn’t get a new patient appointment quickly enough at an office for grown ups.
Problem solved.
Same day appointments, near my office, and a free trial membership to boot! I can’t wait to try it out, even though I’m kind of hoping I won’t have to – crossing my fingers for a flu-​free winter)!

A great way to wind down from a busy day of work. It was great walking in & already being scanned in with name tag already written for you! The Faultline staff were quick to take our drink orders & was just as quick to bring them out to us. There was a good variety of food from cheese & crackers, veggie rolls, fruits & veggies, & calamari. Gotta say that my favorite was the calamari!
It was great learning more about One Medical Group. The people that worked for them answered our questions with great confidence & I loved their approach for healthcare. Theonly thing that sucked is that they don’t take Kaiser so you’d have to label yourself as no insurance & pay $ 150 for your first visit & $ 100 for every subsequent visit, ouch! That does not include anything else mind you. I did like that they gave everyone in attendance a free one year membership!

Awesome Abby makes sure that even though YOLO, it doesn’t hurt to have some healthcare. With a free one-​year membership to One Medical, South Bay Unilocalers can YOLO all we want.
The suds brewed by Faultline were super duper. I tasted Kolsch, Hefe, Brown and Stout. When I couldn’t decide which beer I wanted to order, Joe the server brought me a small glass to sample. Super cool. My favorite was the Kolsch. Joe also brought me plenty of water and Diet Cokes when I had filled up on beer, but still felt parched. Beer is sooooo filling!
The spread was on the healthier side. We ate crudités with ranch dip, an assortment of crackers with an assortment of very mild cheeses, veggie tortilla rolls and fried calamari. I’m not a fan of mild cheeses as I think they are super bland, but the crackers were great. Even tastier was the fried calamari and cocktail sauce. The calamari was so popular, it had to be replenished multiple times during the event. The calamari was seasoned to taste and fried to tender perfection. Yum.
The bar height tables were pretty small, with just enough space for pint glasses and a few appetizer plates, which facilitated lots of mingling. I met a bunch more people than I normally would at +1 events. A lot of VERY cool people… Dorothy L., Mike K., Jeff F., Joanna R., Michael K., plus many others. Sorry, if I left you out, but thanks for making it a great night! Cheers!

Another great Unilocal elite, thank you Abby+crew and One medical! As soon as you walk in, I completely noticed it to be a more smaller and intimate event. I really enjoyed the light bites, beer and wonderful wine selection. My group luckily snagged a table but some other Unilocalers we’re unfortunately lefted with eating and attempting to drink their beverage standing around :(The staff that we’re taking beverage orders+cleaning up-​THANK YOU, I hope most of you left them a nice tip! Like Dorothy L, my only complaint would be we could not hear the speeches very clearly, it was obvious it was from the restaurant. Other than that, I had a great time learning about One Medical and the services they offer! Thank you again :)

The Medical one group was awesome giving free 1 year to the elite group. Also Fautline brewery was amazing with there bomb calamari.
Can’t forget the free stuff: Chap stick, hand sanitizer I still use till this day, sweat bands, bottle openers, and mints.
I was pretty shy at first going up to people and just starting a conversation, but when I had two beers I was ready to go. I feel like RAJ from big bang theory for those of you who watch the show.
Can’t wait for the next event in Nov 14. Hope to see all you guys there!

The calamari was delish… I wanted to stand by the food table to keep munching on it all night… but I had to refrain.
The staff here was SUPER nice and awesome. I forgot the name of our server, but he was best!

My first Unilocal elite event was a blast. Unilocalers are a fun bunch in person! Luckily the near-​famous Alyx F was there to usher me through the experience. I was partly convinced I could determine who was the elite and who were the +1’s.
Faultline had great beers on tap. The Hefeweizen, IPA, Brown Ale, and Best Bitter were all solid. Whoa, I may have partaken of a bit too much haha! Still need to get used to this. After harvesting a school of calamari on my plate, I was convinced they weren’t going to bring more — but they did.

So the event started right on time, my +1 and I were one of the first ones to walk up to the little area where the event was taking place. We got our name tags and within seconds a waiter approached us ever so nicely and asked us what we wanted to drink. I got a yummy Hefe and my +1 got a Pale Ale. They were both good beers, but of course they tasted so much better because they were FREE! What I loved was that the waiters were always checking up on us, asking if everything was A-​OK or if we needed another drink. Totes made us feel welcoming.
The mini bitez that were being served were delish, I loved the calamari! Such chewy goodness! I was craving it for the longest time, I’m happy I got to feed my fixxx.
Those who represented One Medical were very informative. I loved that they can do same-​day appointments. They also do the whole sha-​bang… From flu shots to annual check-​ups, you name it, they do it. What I was really sad about though, was that they accept almost every insurance provider… EXCEPT Kaiser. I am actually currently looking for a new doctor and I was hoping OM was the winner, but I have Kaiser. I don’t get to use the free one-​year membership they’re promoting for us Elites. So sad!
Even though, I got to meet a few new people! I agree with everyone else though, it was a little hard to hear Abby’s speech… To be honest, all I heard was, «Don’t drink too much!» LOL! I hope no one got any hangovers this morning from all the beer.

Thanks Unilocal and One Medical Group for putting on such an awesome event! The beers and eats were great and were never short on supply. It was cool that there were reps from OM around to answer any questions you had.

Thanks Unilocal and One Medical! I had a blast and helped promote One Medical online, seems like my friends who are members love it and I helped them get another person to sign up. The Faultline staff was great as well and deserved their tips. Weizen Bock beer, wow, tasty!

Great event and thankful that a Unilocal event came to our neck of the woods. Informative and great tasting beer and food… didn’t expect less from an Elite Event! The calamari was a hit along with the Kolsch. One Medical Group provided some great information and the husband and I are planning to check them out and see what services we can truly benefit from.
The venue was spacious and the servers were wonderful. Drink orders were taken right away and food was always filled up.

Good event with a very cool and upcoming company/​concept. The venue itself was a good relaxing setting where people could eat and drink and learn about this new type of medical organization.
The setup was done well with the food table in the middle and small tables on the side for chatting and eating. Nice full frothy beers from the brewery with very attentive and friendly servers.
One Medical staff was also very friendly and helpful to answer any questions we had about them. Not to mention the one year free membership can’t be beat!

I honestly can’t remember the last Unilocal Elite event I went to, but I was glad to get back in action with this one. I didn’t realize Faultline even existed, but I happily tried as many beers as I could at this event. I was a fan of the hef and the bitter, the brown ale was alright too. In typical fashion, I tried some of my +1’s beers, the IPA and the regular pale ale, and as I’ve never been an IPA fan, it was still the case. The pale ale didn’t have any sort of taste in my opinion, and we sent it back to be replaced by another IPA.
The minuses, which I can understand is hard to control, was that it was extremely hard to hear, so unfortunately, I felt like I didn’t get as much information about One Medical Group as I could have. Though I’m sure I can look up whatever information I need on their website. Also, the food was pretty generic: veggie platter, cheese and cracker plate, mini veggie wraps, and calamari. However, the alcohol/​drinks and the extremely courteous service certainly made up for it. Those waiters/​waitresses were amazingly friendly and it was fun chatting them up.
Thank you, Abby, for teaching us why a beer a day is great. I think I’m set for the next few days!

Oops I forgot to check in… Probably was too busy drinking and chatting it up. As I mentioned in my past review about Faultline, I really enjoy their beers. When I had the opportunity to have all you can drink beer, yeah… I was one of the last people to leave in order to sober up haha
I think as for finger foods, the Calamari won the show. It had to be refilled numerous times.
I got a good amount of information about One Medical through Jinx, what a cool name right? and will be signing up for my 1 year free membership to give it a try, even though I rarely ever go to the doctors for anything.
All in all, I had a fun time, got to meet new people in the area and even invited over a couple of fellow Unilocal loiters I met tonight over to my place for some carne adobado tacos, Arriba! :D

I got to talk to the beautiful and amazing Abby S. again yesterday and confessed to her that I’ve been a very bad Unilocaler.
My Unilocal profile has been looking abandoned and neglected as of late :(

I’m making a promise that if I really could receive 1 year of health services from One Medical, I will write those sweet sweet reviews and get Elite again in 2014 so I can continue to enjoy these events and the company of other amazing Unilocalers.
Faultline Brewery looks like a hidden treasure in Sunnyvale, featuring many varieties of beer, including their very own Cask Beer (Brown Ale), which I ultimately thought it was OK, though I love finding Cask ales.
It was very dim and loud, making it hard to see and hear people. It also made me feel way more drunk than I should’ve been.
Snacks were minimal, and had variety of vegetarian options, but this vegan had to stick to veggies and drinking until stuffed.
Every representative from One Medical was very informative and nice, and I look forward to looking into their services!

This was a really fun event at faultline brewery. It was well organized.
There were a good amount of people, but enough room for everybody.
The servers were very amicable and the drinks came out fairly quickly.
The food to snack on was fairly good. I enjoyed the cheese platter. It’s been a while since I’ve had some yummy gouda. The calamari was also quite good.
As for the beers, I’m not complaining because it was all free. However, the Unilocal recommended Best Bitters was not really what I was expecting. The IPA and the brown ales were pretty good.
Met some new people, hung out with some old friends, overall, it was just a good time.

Such a fun event! Although I live in Sunnyvale, I had never actually been to Faultline Brewery so I was really excited to get the chance to be there and check it out. Really great space and delicious beers — I was impressed!
I also liked learning more about One Medical. Their approach to medicine is very forward thinking and fits well into the technologically driven world of Silicon Valley. With a free one year membership, I will definitely be taking advantage of this.

Unilocalers, beer, and light bites — the perfect recipe for good times. Throw in health care and you have great times!
The small tables were great for mingling and getting cozy with our neighbors. Shout out to my new Unilocal friends! I always have such a nice time chatting and getting to know everyone. Great to meet all of you. Yah’ll know who you are. ;)
I’m not a huge fan of beer, but I liked the ones I tried. The staff was pretty helpful in helping me choose light beers for my inexperienced pallet. I went with the Hefe and the Kolsch — both very light and refreshing.
There was a great variety of relatively healthy snacks. I thoroughly enjoyed the cheese, wraps, and calamari.
My only minor complaint was that the area that we were in wasn’t the best for announcements or speeches. We could barely hear Abby and the doctor from One Medical due to the noise from the rest of the restaurant.
All in all, I had a great time and am glad that I was exposed to One Medical. I recently watched a documentary about health care which detailed the «broken (medical) system» and it excites me to know that One Medical has taken steps to change the way they operate in order to benefit those that value great health care.

Wonderful time thanks to Abby, Medical One group and the Faultline brewery :-D The servicers kept a beer in front of me… a VERY good beer in fact! I wish I remembered the name, it was pale, German and delish! The finger foods was pretty good compliments to the beer but lets be honest the shining star at the event was the wonderful beer that Faultline Brewery provided ;-)
Medical One group has a pretty cool set up and was pretty interesting concept that I can see being a member could be very beneficial. They are generous offering free memberships to the Elites and you didn’t even have to attend the event to benefit on this offer.
Overall I had a great time mingling and meeting new Unilocalers :-) Kudos Abby for putting together this Event!

Another fabulous Unilocal +1 event by Abby and the crew. It started sharply at 6 and I got my wrist band and beer at 605. Food was great and there were plenty to go around. My favorite had to be the green wraps and calamari. Those cheese and crackers were not too shabby as well. I met mostly new friends at this event but also ran into some old ones. I received some good information about One Medical and the free year of service was a treat.
Overall, it was an outstanding event with plenty of boos and food. I met some good peoples and I had a blast!
