White Castle

Some folks refer to White Castle as «belly bombers», I personally refer to them as 100% pure deliciousness. Why would anyone wait on line for an hour at Shake Shack for a burger when White Castle will leave you satisfied and blissfully happy? Even a long line at at the Castle moves rapidly and with surgical precision. The employees are highly trained in dealing with crowds of impatient intoxicated people looking to get their «crave» on. Having said that, a visit at dinner time without consuming any alcohol is a mere walk in the park for the employees. If anyone doubts the quality of a simple double cheeseburger, I challenge you to find any of those upscale burger joints (Shake Shack, Five Napkin Burger, Smash Burger and whoever else you want to throw in the mix) to have the staying power as White Castle. And… not ONE of the others have a movie about the lengths people will go to get some. Thank you Harold and Kumar!

They just stop caring after like 11pm. The place then comes super dirty and the worker just sits around texting and laughing sitting with garbage all around her.

Love the sliders. Always try the new menu items but nothing beats the classic sliders and double cheeseburger. Hate the fries. They’re always so soggy.

It’s all Harold and Kumar’s fault! Finally got the chance to visit an actual White Castle Restaurant. Stayed in Queens this time around and was able to just walk there! Got there around 9ish and the place not busy at all. Few customers before us waiting on their order, but empty tables everywhere. We were hungry and ordered like crazy. We got fish, veggie, fries, loaded fries, chicken fries, onion rings, original, cheeseburger, jalapeño cheeseburger, and even clams strips. They messed up our food order, but no big deal. Food was just OK nothing great. All I gotta say is the frozen ones in the supermarket taste better. LOL

Made my first trip to an actual White Castle restaurant. The burgers tasted pretty much exactly the same as the ones you buy in the freezer section no different. Restaurant was kinda grimy but not any more so than what they expected. Me and my friend will take 5 sliders and then gave five more to homeless man was standing outside. A dollar for a slider vs a dollar for a cheeseburger McDonalds I take the McDonalds next time. But that’s coming from a guy who was in the fast food fan to begin with. I went merely for the novelty of it and in the end it was nothing more than just a novelty.

Had a creepy/​crazy person sitting at a table across from us. But we were able to eat our food in peace.
Fast service since it was quiet inside. Late afternoon, not busy.
Food was in line with WC standards.

White Castle just isn’t what it used to be. Although the the cheese fries are good, the sliders were terrible. I don’t remember them having ketchup on them. Seems they have changed a lot since the 90s.

Now they have Dr. Praeger’s slider, I got the patties in my fridge so I didn’t order one but now vegetarians can go to White Castle too. I had the «Crave’. Got myself a regular slider, cheese slider and the featured: Ultimate Jalapeño Cheese Slider. The regular was delicious, flavorful and the cheese one was good. I prefer the regular slider over with cheese. The Ultimate Jalapeño Cheese Slider was really really good. I tad biffer than the regular slider stuffed with melted cheese, sweet yet hot spiced jalapeño peppers and some kind of sauce. It made for a tangy, spicy, light hot spot on the tongue and flavor senses.
Normally, I dine in but went through the drive through for a quick on the go snack. The line was long today, normally, this being my local White Castle, has medium to slow traffic of customers. The interior being not so clean, not so up to date, kind of worn for all these decades of operation, but not overly dirty or trashy. Lines are often short. I like they have a soda fountain and a so so clean restroom and 5 spots to park the car.
I’ve been here so many times over the years that I wished I just lived next door.

This review is for their Belgium Waffle Breakfast sandwiches… the «waffle» was more like a very thin, soggy pancake shaped like a waffle, which falls apart when you try to eat it. This sandwich was also very greasy and very small @ $ 1.99 each. Looks NOTHING like the picture in their advertising. So disappointing!
Stick to what they do best… Burgers!

My boyfriend is a huge fan of White Castle and he will find any reason to get me to go. Now that the weather is warming up, we ride our bikes here to grab a quick snack. They have tables and benches outside which allows us to watch our bikes while enjoying the spring sun.
Our favorite menu items include the jalapeño cheeseburger, crispy fish nibblers (my fav), and fries. My bf likes to get the fries but I could go without them.
This location is much bigger and cleaner than the ones in the city and the staff is pretty friendly.

I like how this White Castle is close to queens blvd. It makes life easier. I enjoy coming here a it brigs back many childhood memories. The fish nibblers taste awesome! I like the clam chips. Low cost easy meals… what more can a girl ask for?

Love White Castle. Came here starving and wanting to try the new stuff. The grilled chicken burgers are bleh. Stick with the original or the jalapeño burgers. Tried the shrimp nibblers. They were just like your typical fried shrimp.

White Castle is something you either love or hate. For me they are both the best and worst decision you can make after a night of drinking. Belly Bombers are the cure to the hangover but the «side effects» can be troublesome the next morning. Besides the burgers the chicken sandwiches and rings are pretty good, and I loved the shakes before I had to swear off lactose. This location is kept pretty clean, and the service is OK.

Pretty fast service when I was there I was pleasantly surprised. But no matter how fast my food appears it is still just a white castle. Wasn’t bad to enjoy the sliders because I haven’t had them in a while but its just one of those places that you remember them tasting better.

What can I say I’m a sucker for White Castle. It brings such warm memories of my childhood since coming to White Castle on a Saturday was all my immigrant parents could afford. I still come here from time to time to get my favorites chicken rings with honey mustard, cheese fries and some delicious sliders.
This particular location is clean, fast service and no attitude employees.

I can agree that the location is fairly clean and the staff are friendly.
We ordered the regular and cheeseburger sliders with fries and chicken rings. Maybe it’s just Harold & Kumar that hyped it up for me, but the sliders weren’t that amazing for me. They just tasted like regular burgers, nothing really special. But what can you really expect for their prices anyway?
Maybe I’m just a spoiled California girl living in New York that’s been spoiled by In-​N-​Out Burgers, lol.
I’d go again just to go. But I doubt it’s anything I’ll ever crave.

This location is clean, it’s quick, and it’s truly a modern marvel right on the way into Manhattan.
If you’ve never had a White Castle single, cheeseburger or double cheeseburger, you will not understand how a fast food restaurant might possibly warrant a five star rating.
When you sit down with your crave case — yes, there are thirty hamburgers in a crave case — then we can discuss the merits of White Castle.

I grew up next to white castle, Love it or hate it. Those little onions are like flavor crystals and they continue to add some interesting items such as chicken rings. I also like the clam strips. But typically opened 24 hours — 7 days a week. Maybe they’ll shut their doors on Christmas night. But it’s a unique fast food experience. There’s not a specific replacement burger for their sliders. When you crave it, that’s it. They have a suitcase of burger the crave case, But if you live next to a white castle, you can get sick of people bring it as party favors. I saw a report actually that White castle is healthier and cleaner than McD’s and Burger King. It’s probably true. There something institution/​hospital like about the décor. But hey, you’re drunk coming home at 3 or 4 AM in the morning, it’s always welcoming.

I tried White Castle for the first time when I came to New York with the image of Harold and Kumar from the movie. Out west, THE burger place is In-​and-​out, down south, Whataburger, and northeast, White Castle?
+ 4 Sliders with a meal. It’s a different feeling to eat 4 small burgers as oppose to a large 10 bitter.
+ Fries are HOT and Tasty.
+ Prices are reasonable $ 5 — 7. Cheaper than Mcdonalds.
— Sliders are soggy and taste moldy. I would understand if it was 3am, but I ate here during lunch time.
