The bagels are decent, but not great. They could be much better. I also feel that they should hire more people for behind the counter. It can get busy because it’s the only bagel shop in the area, and you can wait 15 min. to put your order in.

Hi we’re here for lunch today and tried to get three different types of sandwiches but everytime I asked for one they told me that they didn’t have the critical ingredient for it. Whether itr was roast beef, Russian dressing, Panini bread, or rye bread they didn’t have any of those(for the pre made sandwiches on their board) so I ended up leaving. I never tried it so I won’t give it one star but when you can’t make anything on your menu I’m not a big fan of that

Bagels are passable, not the best ice ever had. They will do the trick if you’re suffering from a sidetracks hangover! Usually get a whole wheat everything toasted with scallion cream cheese.

No frills bagel shop in the area. The bagel are decent and the staff is nice. The times that I’ve come, there has been a line but I think it’s due to the fact that there aren’t too many bagel places in Sunnyside versus this place being an extraordinary bagel shop. If I’m really craving a bagel and don’t want to trek to Manhattan, I would go back.

Your basic NY bagel shop. Good selection of bagel and cream cheese types. Coffee is typical mediocre bagel-shop-coffee. Staff are friendly, and the prices are good. All around, a nice staple to have in the neighborhood :)

Great bagels, passionate staff, solid selection and fairly quick. The downside, 1) totally not efficient 2) expect to become very close with the person in front and behind you; very tight for the 5 – 10 min busy time wait. All in all local feel and comforting experience.

I have been going to this shop on and off for over a year and they’ve always been delicious. Today when I went in, I didn’t have cash and I assumed they would accept my payment with a card. No. After ordering, I wanted to punch with my card and the guy said it was a $ 5 minimum. First of all, this is an illegal practice in NY state. Secondly, it just cost you a customer and a not-so-great review. Thirdly, there was no posted sign(which is because it’s illegal and not right). Hope the 3% fee on the small transaction was worth losing a customer.

It’s a cheap bagel place, nothing more nothing less. They do have tofu cream cheese from a container, so points for that. Not really up to the standards set by most new bagel joints scattered around the city

Ordered a bacon & egg on roll… Tasted like the girl didn’t put any salt or pepper. Cheap with the bacon and just overall dry… Disappointed indeed. This place is ok nothing special

Once I stepped foot inside Dave’s Bagels, the first impression that struck me, was the non sterile feel that are part and parcel of new construction, and typically to a 1970’s old school bagel joint, and this was a good thing in my mind. The blank bin’s of a few specialty cream cheeses cast a passing frown, but with olive, jalapeño and a few other colorful options, my frown was dashed – until. Until I took a bite and the lack of dough tightness, mixed with a non crumb in the lap, crusty top left me looking for another bagel spot between Dave’s and my next stop. But I care not to dwell on the negativeness. The server behind the counter was an absolute sweetheart, attentive enough to my needs that she asked if I wanted my spread applied to both sides of my toasted Everything. I’ve yet to hear that one before, the service was top tier.

Went there around midnight, and they were closed; not 24 hours anymore apparently. So sad because I took the trip out here and had to go to White Castle instead.

Decent Iced Coffee but that’s it. Bagels were terrible. All the ‘fresh’ toppings looked very old. Go anywhere else.

i’ve lived in sunnyside for 4 years and never noticed this place. Walked in to get bagels after reading some stunning reviews. I mean, it’s a bagel shop. They’re a little surely in the mornings, the lady is clearly tired of her job and the food is ok. It’s cheap as hell, so if as long you’re not expecting awesome possum stuff, it’s fine.

This is like your average nyc deli. It’s great. Literally has everything from bagels, hot and cold sandwiches, salads snd many other great things. Totally worth it. The bagels are amazing!

This place is solid. It’s still family ran and not a hipster bagel joint either. The prices are legit and the service is quick. The only wish was that they offered avocado and spinach as toppings.

I LOVETHISPLACE. It’s right up the street from where I’m staying in Sunnyside, and after moving to NYC and being here a few days, I never thought I’d find such a fabulously priced and fabulous-tasting place. It could be that this was my first New York-style bagel place, but DAMN. They don’t mess around here! My family and I ordered a dozen bagels, plus one more for the road, and they were so kind as to only charge us for the dozen. Not saying if we had to pay for the extra one it would’ve broken the bank – a dozen here is, like, $ 8 – 9? For such great bagels! They even have a variety of homemade cream cheeses. The staff was extremely nice, too, and even though it’s small, it doesn’t feel crowded. All hail Dave’s Bagels! I’m looking forward to coming here again, because it’s AMAZING.

Some of the softest and fluffiest bagels I’ve ever had(WHENTHEYAREFRESH). The prices are great and they have a huge selection of home made spreads. However you need to keep an eye on them when they prepare any specialty sandwiches. Sometimes they may not give you the toppings indicated on the menu. We got two sandwiches that were supposed to have specialty cheeses on them only to find plain cheddar being put on. Credit cards accepted and open 24 hours. They do NOT do delivery anymore though, its crossed out on all the menus.

This is a very solid neighborhood bagel place. The everything bagel I ordered was delicious — crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside — and I know I’ll be back soon with all the different cream cheeses they have in stock(e.g. jalapeño, lox, bacon, walnut-raisin). The staff are very sweet, the line moves quickly, and the prices aren’t too bad. All in all, a good bagel place!

Coming from 1st ave in the East village, have 2 bagel shops below my apt was a luxury on sat mornings when you just need a bagel :) I haven’t seen any in Sunnyside, so I googled bagel shops and found this one right across the street from my new apt. The guys making the wide selection of options take pride in their sandwiches and don’t scrimp on ingredients… I had a bacon, egg white, tomato on a scooped everything and it was great. 3 tomatoes, more than one skimpy egg white and it was just what the Dr. ordered. Fast and easy. Great local shop!
