Ordered from here twice now. The first time I had some GI trouble and didn’t feel so great the next day, but I didn’t make any connection. Last night I ordered from here again, and now I’m experiencing the same symptoms. I don’t believe it’s a mysterious coincidence. Just a fair warning to you all.

Love everything broiled; my personal favorites are the bronzoni and porgy! Just delicious!

Don’t get any of their deep fried things, they’re pretty terrible. Really bad breading, store bought frozen fries… Instead go with the baked option. This is much better.

I love this place! I always get the broiled salmon, but I’ve had almost everything else. Owners are super nice and the food is always fresh.

This modest seafood store and mini fast seafood shack lacks atmosphere and has barely any seating, with four chairs and two small tables. But is you are in the nabe and want fresh cheap seafood, then Fish House is worth a stop. By no means gourmet fried fare, Fish House serves up thickly crusted and crunchy battered seafood. I had the fried shrimp platter, 10 medium shrimp served on either rice, or with onion rings or fries, along with a small salad. I loved fried seafood but am not a fan of the coating; sis wonders why I order fried food in the first place. It’s the way a good frying seals in the sweetness of the seafood, of course! Fish House’s coating was too heavy for my tastes so I peeled off the crust to feast on the sweet and succulent shrimp underneath. The platter comes with a tiny iceberg salad, that surprisingly had many pieces of tomatoes and cucumbers. Sneaking a peak at my very close neighbors, I saw that the two men occupying the sole other table when I went in were smarter with their calories, and chose broiled fish that came seasoned and encased in their tin foil tents. Their fish looked and smelled good, with the juices of the fish steaming the fish. They seemed as happy as I was, chowing down. Since Fish House sells the seafood right there, they have a pretty good selection of fried and broiled seafood, with and without sides. Service was warm. I would definitely come back to try the broiled fish. Note that this is more a takeout joint. Coming with a group larger than four will ensure lap seating for some.

the place isn’t huge but it’s not suppose to a full fledged restaurant. it’s part fresh fish store on one side and fried or broiled food on the other. there’s 3 tables and chairs in the middle of the place as well as a tv set on a wall. prices are reasonable for the food they serve there. from deep fried fish filets to crab or fish cakes to onion rings. they have Inca Cola which tastes like bubble gum soda or maybe a more sugary ginger ale minus the ginger part. it’s not exactly cola that we know but it’s a different change of pace. parking is street parking so good luck with finding a spot. the food is really good depends on what you get. my usual is scallops and fish cakes while my friend who went with me went with the broiled fish. I didn’t try it but I did try their crab cake and I’m not too keen with the taste. they do have platters with various seafood you like and platters come with salad and rice or onion rings or jj which is their seasoned potato.(I’m guessing wedges but I didn’t order it). They also do take out in the area too. and open from 10pm to 930am daily.

They sell fish here and cook it for you. You can sit down and it right there. A very sweet family owns and runs the place. Very fresh food. If you order whole fish they would get it right from the display and cook it right there. Highly recommended it as a take out place too!

Other reviews pretty much sum it up. Nice lady takes order. Super quick delivery.(took 20 minutes to my hotel room)…got the salmon steak with some tater wedges. Salmon was super fresh and well seasoned. Rarity in the big apple to have quality fresh seafood, much less delivered to your door… fried stuff may be a different story.“crab” sticks look like imitation crab product and scallops prob frozen stuff as well. I’d recommend getting one of the broiled and grilled seafood items for the best experience.

I like this place. It’s convenient and you can get a quick grilled meal with rice and salad. I’ve ordered from here a couple of times now — probably better to take out then eat in. I had a fillet last time but forgot of what and went back again for a grilled whole red snapper — it wasn’t the best seasoning but it was still good for the price. Seems to be a family run place and the people are nice.

Ordered from here on a whim. Got the salmon fillet which came with rice and salad. My partner got the tilapia platter and we shared calamari and the vegetable dumplings. We loved everything. Fresh fish, perfectly cooked, VERY reasonable prices and quick delivery. Perfect dinner if you ask me. I only wish they stayed open later since I work late a lot.

If you like fish or seafood, do yourself a favor and come here. The food is dirt cheap, fresh, never frozen, and in huge portions. This a mom and pop shop fish market that also cooks everything they have, and offer a full menu of meals. There is a BIG variety of fish and seafood including scallops, shrimp, crab sticks, amd calamari If you want to be healthy, you can even get anything off the menu broiled, but their specialty is breading and deep frying everything. 90% of the menu is under 10 bucks, and you will NOT leave here hungry. Load up on tartar sauce and hot sauce and eat up, even the biggest appetites are going to get full. Credit cart minimum is $ 10, so just order 2 – 3 things on the menu and swipe.

There is really one word that I can say that describes the seafood… «Delicious»! I have walked by this place many times but never really went in to order anything. Tonight, I was looking for a place to pick up dinner to take home. I decided to finally give this place a try and I am so glad that I did. I ordered their broiled salmon steak(very generous size) with yellow rice(for an extra $ 2.00), plus small salad. I also ordered a side of scallops, and onion rings(yes I was very hungry.) My salmon was cooked perfectly. I asked the woman to cook my salmon steak medium rare so that way by the time I get my salmon home it would not be over cooked. Their scallops were ok. My father got their fried whole porgy, it had like a corn meal coating and it was a large fish which was really tasty, plus he ate it faster than I could snap a shot. Finally, a seafood place in the neighborhood. It’s not a restaurant, but its a clean fish market with a cooking station on the other side of the store. You can pick off their set menu or purchase fresh fish which is not on their menu and have them cook it for you. If you are in a rush and don’t want to wait you should plan to order a head of time to go pick up or for delivery. They can get pretty busy very quickly.

I come here sometimes when I need seafood and I’m food shopping since C-Town is right across. They don’t have a huge lection but their seafood is always fresh and the prices are decent. I have noticed that they sell cooked seafood which always smells delicious but I still haven’t tried it.

I like this place a lot. I do not think this place gets enough credit at all. Based on the reviews one would think this place was sub-par. I would disagree. First, the service is lovely. Often when I speak to the lady on the phone, and she needs to put me on hold, she graciously refers to me as «My friend» before asking me to hold. There is nothing that comes off false about it and rather humbling. When the delivery comes, the tall man is always so kind. He bows a lot, which is obviously unnecessary, but if the food is late, I can never be upset. This place gets a lot of orders, so I know to order food a hour ahead of lunch. I always order their salmon steak, broiled or grilled and i always enjoy it. I appreciate that is it wild fish. The fish is always very well seasoned and is enough to fill me well into dinner time. The rice could use a bit more seasoning, but hey, it is a fish place and I grade on the fish. I am all about great tasting sea food, and since I have grown up with all kinds of styles being given to me, I find that this place does cooking sea food justice. I would stick with the actual fish and shrimps and not the sandwiches for the best experience. I really enjoy the food from this place, and order without hesitation when I am in the mood for it. This place takes card over the phone with a 10 dollar minimum. I believe that if you try the fish here, you would enjoy the seasonings and the taste, especially of the salmon which is my all time favorite. Other people I know love their Jo Jo fries and shrimp(which I will try to break away from my salmon to give a chance next time). Try this place out and ask their opinion on what to try if you are not sure. They are more than able to tell you what is the best on their menu based on what you tell them you like. Thank you Fish House for a job well done!

After walking around the neighborhood trying to find a new place to eat, I came across the FISHHOUSE. I walked in right before closing which I was not aware of at the time, however the FRIENDLY woman did not kick me out and instead asked me to order. I ordered the fried shrimp and imitation crab dish. They were almost out of rice so the woman supplemented it with onion rings which I was fine with. + The woman SMILED at me(in New York? YES) after I came in a few minutes before closing. + Prices are reasonable and no tip needed. — Food was dry and tasted a day old(my fault for coming in too late) — Food is TO-GO only. No seating area. Honestly I’m going back again because the woman was SONICE and SMILED.
