Were just asked to leave the restaurant because«other people were waiting»… Never again. Thanks for a «great» Valentines dinner… Food was goo though, just kinda sux being kicked out hunderds of dollars later.

The best dining experience I’ve had in sunny isles! Our server was great, made other great restaurant recommendations for us to try down here. and the food! We both ordered seafood dishes, the branzino and tuna. Both plates were completely finishes, no leftovers they were so good. also split a side of the mushroom risotto. Best meal I’ve had down here, everything was beyond perfect and seasoned just right. The risotto might have been my favorite I’ve had. only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is the abrasive hostess(I’ve worked in fine dining for years, hosts are the first face and interaction a guest has. being rude and short w guests isn’t gonna help the business) the food gets 5 stars!

The reason I put this place a 1 star is simple. Yes the food there is superb and the foie gras is astonishing, arguably the best I ever had. But the overall experience of this restaurant was unpleasant that deserves a 1 star and I would encourage everyone to avoid this place and I will get into it to saying why. Short story: my business credit card identity was stolen by a waiter. And when that happens it’s better to all along avoid the place and find another one, especially with the great variety of choices nowadays, in order to avoid the consequences of dealing with unauthorized charges on your credit card Detailed long story: me and my family used to come here quit often for their delicious foie gras. After I put down my credit card down for payment another waiter that wasn’t the one serving us took the bill. He then looked at my card very thoroughly analyzing it, when I saw that I said in my head don’t you even dare. Well I paid I left a nice tip and left. Monday while me and my partner were in the office I saw a transaction for almost $ 200 at some hotel, and right away I knew what happened. Now how can I be so sure about it that it was particularly at this restaurant that the card information was stolen. Well quite simple, I don’t use my business card almost at all, besides paying some bills through automatic payments, last time I used my card must of been in September for my partners birthday. So the point is, the 1 star rating is what this restaurant gets from me, the food is not the only thing that the restaurant is responsible for, the restaurant is also responsible for a pleasant and secure environment where one can enjoy that good food.

This is close to where we live so we thought we would give it a try. Pretty crowded for a Tuesday night, which is a good sign! We ate at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and personable. We had the millionaires salad, which had the right amount of acidity. My fiancé had the bone marrow, which he loved. We then split a pasta dish and a pizza. It was the right amount of food and a good experience. We’ll be back.

Really cool place, nice atmosphere and friendly and attentive staff. I had a delicious lemonade to start with, accompanied by a superb surf ‘n’ turf that not only made me write my first review on Unilocal(this one!) but also achieved the status of best dish I’ve had in my life. The dish featured a huge Madagascar black tiger shrimp and perfectly medium rare filet mignon, and was a delight.

First time visitors. Walked in off the streets on Saturday night. Atmosphere is great. Loud conversations, clanging of glasses and wonderful smell of brick oven pizza in the air. Ordered salad, gnocchi and wine. Great stuff. Highly Recommend.

Went there for the first time last night. Delicious restaurant! We ordered foie gras as the appetizer, and although foie gras is not my thing, the combination with the orange jelly was very tasty. For the main course we ordered a full grilled branzino. Hmmm that was delicious! Perfectly cooked, no strong sauces, fish very fresh. The only improvement I would suggest to the restaurant would be the acoustics… Loved the place and looking forward to returning.

Incredible meal. Very attentive service. Creamy polenta to die for, perfectly medium skirt steak, deliciously flaky grilled local Cobia fish, and wonderfully tasty octopus and mozzarella eggplant. Very unassuming location in strip mall, but warm and friendly and trendy inside

Nothing but the best all around!!! Amazing food, yummy drinks(best lychee martini I’ve had in a long time), warm and welcoming atmosphere, and great service. What else can one ask for??? And now that it’s Miami spice week, it’s definitely worth a visit and a try. We came here to check out their Miami spice menu and try some new things on their regular menu and we were not disappointed. Try it out and you’ll become one of the regulars too!!!

Went here for my sister’s birthday. She was raving about it. We arrived at around 9PM. Service: Subpar, maybe saw our server ¾ times throughout our dinner. The food runners were more attentive. Server was nice though. Food: OK at most. For appetizers, we got the ahi tuna. It was pretty good. We also got a Caesar salad but it seemed like someone drowned it in olive oil. It was literally glistening upon arrival and shone brighter than a 14 year old’s pubescent forehead. Way too heavy for a salad. Breadsticks also accompanied the appetizers. Their crisps were delicious but the bread slices they had out seemed stale and/or smothered in butter. For our main dishes, I ordered the skirt steak with oil and herbs. The meat was cooked to a perfect medium, slight pink but with a nice char and still very juicy. But it just didn’t have much flavor. Not sure if it’s supposed to be like that, but I ended up asking our server for some red wine vinegar to make a impromptu chimchurri sauce. The russet fries that accompanied the skirt steak were great. Seasoned well and crisp. My sister got the ravioli and it was pretty bad, in my honest opinion. Menu says it’s fresh but it tasted frozen. Texture was kind of weird and flavor was off. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was great! Decent size for the price and it was a good refresher from the main course. Overall, I probably wouldn’t come back unless my sister urges me to give it another try. Should have gotten the branzino(European sea bass). If there’s a next time, I’ll go for the fish.

Well, in the restaurants defense we only had the kale chips and shishito peppers — but they didn’t have full descriptions of their items on the menu. For example, «parmesan» kale chips = kale chips with cashews on it. Normally, probably 95% of the time, not an issue. But if you’re anaphylactic and need an epi pen and might die if you ingest too much, this might be an issue. They did their best to accommodate but we ended up leaving as it was too risky. The manager came over(appreciated) and asked if we mentioned allergies to them. This is not the proper way to manage. An establishment should clearly indicate it’s ingredients one and two the establishment should always ask first if there are any allergies. This is the proper way to manage. Lord knows this happens again to someone who ingests a lot of cashews and forgets to mention it… they literally might die. But what we had thus far was pretty good. Chia water is a gimmick because I take chia regularly for digestion. Other than that not a bad experience. Probably a 4 star place.

Very conveniently located by beach resorts. This place has a nice romantic ambiance, but seems to be very good for families too. We ordered the Ahi Tuna Crudo to share. Even though it was listed under«small plates» the plate was quite large and we definitely got our money’s worth. I just didn’t really like the sun dried tomato pesto underneath as it was a bit too spicy. For main dishes we ordered the skirt steak and the roasted half chicken. The skirt steak was AMAZING. For $ 26 you get a huge chunk of perfectly tender quality meat nom nom nom… The chicken was very well grilled to a perfect texture, but not very flavorful. I enjoyed the gnocchi and mushrooms that came with the chicken much more. Overall I would recommend. Nice environment, attentive service, and decent food. A little bit pricey but that’s kinda of to be expected at this kind of resort location.

Two scraggy Chicago adults looking for a romantic early-bird dinner while vacationing at Aqualina stumbled across Timo’s and upon entering realized: 1. the atmosphere did not match the crowd(too many cargo shorts for our Chicago sensibilities). 2. We would receive no recluse from the scalding Miami heat, even in a respectable-looking place such as this one(hard as I tried not to, I was sweating into my eggplant Parm all night). 3. The booth was too high for my Amazon girlfriend, who’s knees kept bumping against the table, threatening to spill our outlandishly expensive drinks. 4. A conspiracy must be afoot concerning the pasta sauce, as Amazon and I ordered two different dishes that had the exact same flavor: disappointment(we HATE to order the same thing). Plus, we heard they have meaty cannolis.

This place needs more reviews because I think it is a very good Italian restaurant with home feel to it. It’s a small place that deserves more credit. I had a good time and I would highly recommend it to anyone. They serve good food with fresh ingredient, plus flavor. There’s a parking problem, but they offer free valet. Surprisingly, it’s not pricey for the quality of food that you being served.

Hauling my cookies all the way up to Sunny Isles for dinner isn’t something I normally would do. However, last night for a friend’s birthday dinner that’s exactly what I did. The trip up to Timo was worth it. Ambiance: The place was packed with a crowd a bit older and more ‘bedazzled’ than I normally see. It was fun playing the ‘Who’s had what done?’ game. You know, the game where you scan people’s faces to identify what plastic surgery they’ve had? Yeah, that game. This is the place to do it. The dining room A/C was set at a near-Arctic level. I assumed that was to counteract the facial heat of those diners who had just had a pre-dinner microdermabrasion. Thoughtful. Service: We had great service all night. Our server Brian was appropriately attentive, got every complicated order from our table of five right without writing it down, and kept the evening flowing. A surprise birthday dessert for my friend was the proverbial icing on the cake. Nice job, Brian. Food: The menu has something Italian/Sicilian for everyone, even me. Of particular note: — Octopus is tough to pull off in a restaurant setting as it can be… well…tough. Mine melted in my mouth. Someone in the kitchen knows how to prepare it and I’m glad they did. — The homemade gnocchi were light and(while a bit overly sauced in a kale pesto) delicious. While I might not deliver my cookies back up, if you’re up for the trip make a reservation at Timo and give it a go. I’m glad I did. Next time I get a microdermabrasion, I know where I’ll be having dinner: Timo.

This was one of two upscale Italian restaurants I went to recently and I must admit that Timo disappointed me. The décor is fairly sophisticated and inviting for a South Florida restaurant. We got seated right away at 6pm on a weeknight without a reservation. Husband and I shared a Caesar Salad. Now I know there is not much to a Caesar Salad, but this one was terrible. The lettuce was limp, there were about 3 small croutons, and the dressing was lumpy and bland. It was really just very unappetizing. For a main, I got the Monkfish. It came with clams, calamari, mussels, and was perfectly cooked. My issue was with the thick tomato sauce the fish was cooked in. It was totally bland. The sauce needed a bit of heat, more garlic, some herbs, spices… something! My husband had a similar issue with the Skirt Steak he ordered. It was cooked perfectly and the consistency was butter soft. The problem? Also that the steak had absolutely no flavor. The fries that came with the steak were huge and bland as well. Now when North Miami Beach was a haven for senior citizens there might have been a reason for this mild tasting food(and lack of salt) but not anymore. The chef at Timo should have a meal at «Caffe Vialetto», an Italian restaurant in Coral Gables that I just reviewed. The food there had bold, brilliant flavors that just tickled my taste buds. The food at Timo was not bad, just boring. Service was lacking too. Our server was friendly but completely abandoned us at times. Drink refills were practically nonexistent. Believe it or not, I would like to give Timo another chance. I realize we only tried three items. Also, we did not try some items that were recommended to me, like the Black & White Pizza and homemade pastas. For some reason on that particular night I was trying to limit my carbs. Oh well, next time it’s the pizza & gnocchi for sure(no matter what my diet says!)

There are 2 good reasons for restaurants to participate in Miami Spice(in August and September). One is to fill a slow-season. The other is Unilocal reviews(Miami locals venture out more, and given the value of the menus, more likely to post something positive, and this review is no exception). Timo is close to home for me, but it hasn’t had a Miami Spice menu for several years, especially at lunch, so I was happy to see it return, and happier to have it offered on the holiday Monday(Labor Day). Timo’s spice menu is the same at lunch and dinner, so with the lunch one priced $ 23 and dinner $ 39, lunch is a tremendous deal(I can’t imagine portion sizes are that much larger at dinner). For the second month of Miami Spice, I was the first person to order the new menu(being the first customer on the first day of September). So I don’t have the menu to refer to, and this is from memory. App choices were a duck/foie-filled pasta(like a ravioli or a beggars’ purse, but I’m sure it has a fancier name), and a tuna tartare salad. There was not much foie taste to the pasta — 3 pieces in a rich broth that was worthy of sopping the bread plate in. The larger portion of the very fresh and light-tasting tuna dish made it the winner by a slight margin. I was looking forward to the«grilled octopus over crispy gnocchetti», but that option disappeared with the month of August. The mains were a filet of Dorade over vegetables, or a sliced strip steak served with a mini-stack tower of potatoes(I really liked the stack, making the whole dish richer than the fish option, but maybe a little too rich at midday when it’s 94 °F outside — but perfect for the«autumn» and a glass of red wine). Desserts were a pumpkin«popsicle» with candied walnuts(again, a great fall dish, but too early given the temperatures), or orange crème-filled cannelloni(which I liked better of the 2 options). Service by Svetlana was very attentive, and I was interested to hear from her about Basil Park(same chef, 2 doors down), which is open for breakfast too. I’ll have to look into that(when Spice ends, of course). So Timo is another example of a good spice menu where you really can’t go wrong whatever you choose. If you go as a couple, I’d recommend ordering different items(not like Makoto, where everyone should order the same things because some choices are so much better than others).

My food was cold when I got it. The food was lack of taste, the burrata ravioli was not good, and the pizza had a bitter taste. This place is very expensive and absolutely not worth it. Service is good but everything takes long time. I will not go there again.

After having it on my must-try list for a very long time, I finally made it south to Timo’s. We had 7:30, Friday night reservations. Our friends weren’t there yet when we arrived, but the hostess was very nice and sat us right away anyway. The crowd gradually shifted throughout the night; first it was mostly families and older(65+) couples, then it was a much younger, well dressed, rowdier crowd. One thing was consistent: it was absolutely packed every single minute. Here’s why: Black and White Pizza: this is the reason I will return time and time again… fresh ricotta, mozzarella, provolone with shaved truffles. Sigh. A thin, yet soft crust. Allvery simple ingredients and very well made. I am in love with this pizza! We ordered it as an appetizer to try it, but next time I just might take one to go! Truffle and Egg Raviolo: a raviolo, with an O is one single, large, round ravioli. Although it is not anything like my favorite raviolo(Bottega in Napa), it is still a darn good one. Spinach and egg inside just waiting to ooze out from one touch of the knife topped with a mushroom sauce. Homemade ricotta in it as well… mmm mmm mmm Whole Grilled Local Yellowtail Snapper: Japanese eggplant and fire roasted peppers. This is the one I liked the least. If you order this, make sure you love peppers. The dish brings a lot of them and it’s very overwhelming. It takes over the entire dish. Black Grouper and Lobster Risotto: this was delicious and I was too full to even finish it(although I tried!) Chocolate pot au crème: I didn’t care for the éclair that topped it but the actual crème part was absolutely divine. I would like to have this one again. Brown Butter Soufflé: candied peanuts, vanilla gelato and caramel. Not as decadent as it sounds(or as I like), but it was still good. Service was good. We always had enough refills, silverware, and just enough attention. Timo’s is hidden in a strip mall off Collins Ave. in Sunny Isles. Parking is hard to come by, but they do offer valet parking as an option. The menu features many entrees I want to try and I will do just that when I return soon!
