I really liked this place it has a great atmosphere and delicious food, the customer service was excellent, the ambience reminded me of My hometown Aleppo’s restaurants. I went with my family and friends, we ordered hamburger and chicken tenders which were very good, and we smoked approximately 4 hours hookah and it remained the exact flavor. i’ll definitely come back very soon.

Awesome hookah, food and environment! The staff and owners are very friendly and attentive. It’s a great place to kick up your feet and unwind with fantastic hookah! It’s also a plus that they are open late.

I really had high hopes for this place, and was planning on bringing a group of friends after I had scoped it out myself. I stumbled upon this through Unilocal and was impressed to hear a culmination of things: it’s a hidden«gem» in the foothills, awesome/funny new owners, you can play ps3 games while you smoke, their food/chef is impressive. With all that I listed, my experience didn’t touch any of those«highlights.» (If you want to hear the story of my experience, read further. If not, skip to the tail of my review.) My experience(as brief as possible): A friend and I walk in and no one was there to greet/seat us. No problem because that happens if the server/other employees are busy. We were standing there for about 5 mins without acknowledgement when others stated otherwise. We were accidentally«noticed» by the owner(he probably saw the whole party of 15 staring at us) as soon as we felt out-of-place. Who appeared to be the owner, was busy sitting & smoking hookah with a friend. Moving along, we were seated and the seating arrangement was really comfortable which was relaxing for most of our stay. Menus(food/hookah) were presented by the waitress who was polite(and hot), but helpfulness & attentiveness of service was not what other reviews suggested. Didn’t order food at first, was thinking of ordering food a while into our stay, then overheard from the waitress helping another table that the cook isn’t in and they can only serve fried food. Can’t say much about the food here because we didn’t have that luxury other reviewers did. They carry a nice variety of Tangiers flavors, but the hookah itself was a hair below par because of 3 things: don’t use Tangiers bowls, smoke was light through most of the bowl, the hookah itself(stem & vase) was an old KM that just wasn’t doing it for us. Pickiness aside, the hookah«chemist»(their label, not mine) was friendly and brought fresh coals frequently. The owner told us the ps3s were for the month of August and that they might bring them back. The tab had an automatic tip added to the ledger. The overall experience was a huge let down after all the hype this place has received in reviews from the past few months. Quick review(for Oct 14): Hookah prices are good & refill prices are excellent, light smoking hookah hardware(or packs), friendly hookah guy brought coals frequently, cute waitress touched our table about twice after seating us(2.5 hr stay), no ps3s(bummer because it seemed to be a hit from FB& Unilocal’ers), all the owner does is sit/lounge/smoke which created an uninviting first impression. May possibly come back(if they bring back ps3s & to give the hookah/food another opportunity). Would not recommend to others yet/ever(and not because it’s a «hidden gem»).

Nice atmosphere and stuff. But tea too pricey for some. Still relaxing mostly and not too crowded. Nice staff and cute guys.

Not open at 6 as advertised… More later All outside seating, nice idea when it’s not so hot. Had a burger with bacon was good but the garlic fries tasted frozen and seemed to be missing the garlic. Might try again once it cools off

I was hesitant to write this review. Mostly because I don’t want anyone else to know about this hidden gem of the foothills. Ive always enjoyed hookah, but Code Blue elevates the experience to a whole new level. The ambiance is perfection. The staff is beyond gracious and helpful. My pup is a welcome guest who is loved upon and offered ice water.(he is my child and this is a huge deal for me) And did I mention the food?! Don’t even get me started. They have a gem of a chef who’s food is on point. But please don’t go.

The pizza is great FYI it take time for them to make it because they make the dough from scratch. Also ask for the fried Orio not on the menu and it’s delicious.

This is seriously a hidden gem of the Sunland/Tujunga area. Before I stepped foot into this place I had heard mixed reviews about the service and the hookah, but I was recently re-invited to this place, learning that it has a new owner, new management, and way better service through one of my close friends who works here, and had a really good night. From the outside, this place is kinda pulled back from the front of the street, which makes way for their customer/staff parking in front of their lounge. If they didn’t have their huge billboard of «Code Blue Café», you would miss this place if you were new to the area. I never realized how big this lounge actually was. Walking in, immediately greeted by the hostess, but my close friend had already in advance reserved a table for my boyfriend and I, and had our hookah set up and everything. We smoked out of his personal Lavoo, and it was hitting all night. This place has a edgy, cool vibe. Like the Star Wars posters, and other really cool things hanging from the walls that make your stay worth it. The seating areas are super comfortable. The tables have more of a lawn chair setting, while the ones next to the wall are like benches with comfortable seat covers/pillows. They also provide a few games which can help you kill time while smoking their amazing hookah. The hookah boys are on top with their packs, and come around more than frequently to ask if the hookah is okay and if you need coals. The waitresses are also the same, very attentive to all the tables and come around quickly with the orders. There are TV’s, they do play music, and some nights they have MOVIENIGHTS. I have also heard raving reviews about their food, which I have yet to try. The prices are not expensive at all, and definitely worth it to come grab a bite to eat, and smoke a hookah as well. The new owner is a super nice person as well. He doesn’t just chill out with his friends and smoke hookah, he makes sure his lounge is up and running, and filled with happy customers. Definitely coming back to this place to try the food next time!

This is a jewel hidden in the hills. Came here with some friends and we had a great time. Large selection, great flavors, very friendly and down to earth owner and staff, and very nice outdoor seating. I don’t smoke hookah much but this is definitely my spot from now on. Go check it out, u won’t be disappointed.

Came here for the first time. I’m not a fan of hookah lounges at all because they never felt comfortable, but this place is very welcoming. Andre prepared the hookah and got us exactly what we were looking for. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and drinks also. The food was very good just like the hookah. Welcoming place with great service! Going to recommend this place to everybody. Thank you code blue for a good, comfortable environment!

If Hookah is your thing then you’ve come to the right place, the wide selection is just mind boggling, the beauty is that you can try and experience a different flavor any time, my favorite now is either the Fumari Tangelo, the Tangiers Guajava or the Alfakher Grapefruit with an added touch of Mint, but the list is long and by the time you think you’re done they come up with NEW flavors and bolder mixes. The food is where they hook you in, those seasoned fries are incomparable but those Crazy Hot Wings are murder, the taste and the added Buffalo sauce makes these the best kept secret, I’m not a fan of bread myself but I’m told the Wraps, Paninis and Burgers are to die for. Thank you guys, you deserve the best for your dedicated and hard work, see you soon.

So much to say! The reviews here are all bought! If you give a good review you get a free refill or something, which says A LOT. 1) the atmosphere SUCKS. The music is outdated and needs a change. The decorations of snowflakes in October need to come down!(Lazy ass workers) The ikea cheap tables are falling apart and are held together by staples! This place is a mess just by looking at it. Plus the bathroom door doesn’t even work properly! 2) the service is CRAP. The workers sit around and smoke hookah with their friends and the owners do too! When u need something no one is around. And forget about the server(just one) coming and checking on the customer! She brought coffee with NOSUGAR + had to be asked to bring creamer… are u kidding?! Who hired u… oh that’s right the owner with no business skills. 3) way OVERPRICED! Mini garden has better hookah for way less! 4) If you complain one of the owners will say«if u don’t like it don’t come here.» …talk about great people skills 5)and the food and the hookah are… in a word… REPULSIVE. Food tastes microwaved and hookah burns

If you’re looking for great hookah and a chill atmosphere, this is the place to be! The management/ownership is just pure amazing. My first time there, it felt as though I had known them for years — very friendly and professional. Also, the waitress and hookah staff are on point. They sure know what they are talking about, and they will make sure you are satisfied with great food and endless clouds from your hookah. I am now a regular at this place, and I am extremely happy that my friends and I discovered this oasis. Code Blue Café is the place to be any day of the week!

My boyfriend, his friends and cousin go to Code probably about 3 times a week. Can you tell they like it? The atmosphere at Code is very chill. It’s the type of place you go to to just sit and enjoy you friends company. It’s not a fancy place but they’ve done some renovations and the places is looking better and better every time I go in. The owner is SUPER friendly, he will make sure everyone feels as if they are family. And to be honest, when you go in you are family because of the great service. We always go in with a large group of people and its PETFRIENDLY!!! Big plus in my book because I hate leaving my pooch at home. The food — I would best describe it as Middle Eastern/American Fusion. I love the Basil Chicken Panini on Armenian barbari bread. My other favorites are the nachos and the Chipotle Chicken Wrap. Me for one am not a big fries fan but I loveeeeeee Code’s fries. If your looking for a chill place to go with your friends to smoke some hookah and have yummy food in Sunland this is the place!
