They were yummy. I ordered a to go breakfast order for the road. Fast and home cooked food for the road couldn’t of gotten better. I love cocos.

I HATE giving a bad review but I wanted so bad to love this place. We just recently moved to the area and it seems Coco’s is the only sit down casual dining around so we thought we’d give it a try. Walking in we noticed a Denny’s type situation and figured we would be fine but something seemed off. The restaurant employees seemed annoyed. The place wasn’t really busy for a Valentine’s day so we were quickly greeted and seated. Almost ten minutes passed before our server approached the table. Two of us wanted the prime rib and was told they had run out for the evening. No worries… We ordered an appetizer(onion straws) and our drinks. Almost ten minutes after we ordered, our server returned with the appetizer and took our order. The server was not happy, complained about being tired… Blah blah blah. I understand service as I’ve been there, done that but I always cringe when a server dumps on the customer and says things like«walk in my shoes for one day…» The server also gave me eye rolls and dirty looks so tipping was difficult for me. The food was very sub par. I had the ribs and it was unlike any ribs I’ve ever had. Fatty and gristle. I ate about two. The fries were cold and the cole slaw was extremely bland. I am a ribs fanatic and I’ve NEVER had two bites and quit. My husband had a NY steak, baked potato and veg. The steak was«ok». The vegetables was a couple zucchini slices and a few tomatoes. Portion size was unacceptable. My son had salmon, rice and vegetable. The salmon was over cooked and chewy and the two broccoli florets with two cauliflower were also unacceptable portion size. I’ve never had such horrible food and would have complained or sent it all back but the guest beside us head a major attitude with the server and manager about his meal so I didn’t want to deal with a completely out of control situation. We ordered a pie to go because the atmosphere sucked so bad. Just had a piece at home and the level of blah was off the charts. The entire«meal»(for three people) came to almost $ 80. What a joke. We will not be returning. I’ll just drive to Denny’s(about ten miles) before I’ll drive the two miles to Coco’s

Went in with my girlfriends hadn’t had cocos for a while I asked for my favorite waitress memi and she was on break! :(I was pretty bummed but wasn’t going to make a fuzz about it after all she’s intittled to her break. So I got Ken who was just as good as Memi. Food was amazing cheese melted just right and fresh coffee with vanilla creamers. My ideal breakfast Definitely returning super friendly staff and wonderful service. I truly do appreciate great service so that’s why I gave this establishment 5

I know what you’re thinking… what’s a foodie Unilocal Elite doing at Coco’s on Thanksgiving? It’s not as bad as you might think… Backstory…family members got sick a few days before the holiday and end up in urgent care and are sent home with antibiotics… so…the family Thanksgiving is moved to Saturday in order for everyone to get better and less contagious… Enter the local Coco’s…mom and I were hungry and certainly not going to cook a mini Thanksgiving just for two. Off to Coco’s we go and are pleasantly surprised to find it full of happy diners(most were seniors). Mom ordered the prime rib which was declared to be quite decent. I ordered the turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes because it was actually Thanksgiving and that’s what I wanted. It was satisfying since I was craving it. I added a piece of pecan pie to go, and this was the only disappointment because it was very dry and not gooey enough. But overall, nice meat, lightly steamed veggies and tasty sides of stuffing, baked potato, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. Mom and I were pleased and happy with our meals.

Gotta do a quick review on this one. I ordered the«quiche» yesterday. Let me tell you that this was the most underwhelming, lukewarm, piece of crap I’ve had at a restaurant. I was going to avoid giving a review but I was still super upset today about it. They must have kept this in the fridge, heat it in the microwave, then leave it out for another 30 minutes before serving it. That’s what it tasted like. I rarely never give tip but this time I didn’t because I ain’t coming back. Gave cash too and kept all the change. Terrible 0 stars if that was an option. P.S at least the coffee was half decent.

Witnessed a host rub a waitress across her lower back while she was waiting for an order to come out. Disgusted. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was cooked well, over cooked for my liking. It was very tough to chew and I got a small serving of vegetables. The waitress was polite. The team leader was very rude and there is just overall a bad staff here at this Coco’s location, how unfortunate. Upon paying I ordered some slices of pie, I asked if there was pumpkin pie and the man said«I don’t know, wouldn’t it be there if we had some? If it’s not there then no.» And proceeded to laugh. He then brought me back my slices of pie which were extremely sloppily cut. Our arrival wasn’t great either, we waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged by the host and then seated, mind you, there was ZERO others waiting before us. I would ask for a refund but I don’t want to return to this location ever again. It’s no wonder this place has less than 3 stars. Do what’s best for you, avoid this Coco’s!

My lack-luster experience at Coco’s was shaped by the fact that I’m vegan. I recently moved into the area and was looking for an early-morning breakfast joint. I went on Friday October 2nd when the doors opened. Opening at 630am… this place was perfect! Let me start off with what was RIGHT. There were two servers working… one man and one woman. They were not the typical-server-prototype. Boy did they work their butts off! I watched them as they were constantly moving around… bringing out drinks, checking on people’s food, being very kind. I wanted to give them both hugs and I felt very well taken care of. These two should get a raise! Unfortunately, the majority of the menu consists of meat/dairy so my options were hindered. I ended up getting some multi-grain/nut pancake that was fine. When I asked for soy milk in my coffee I discovered that Coco’s does not serve any non-dairy milk… which I found to be a bit behind the times. Many restaurants in Los Angeles are jumping aboard the non-dairy /non-meat train and expanding these options. The diner-esque atmosphere was nice, but if I’m going to be spending money on a meal, I’m going to go to a place where I can get more than oatmeal. Thanks for the experience Coco’s.

Okay Sunland Coco’s, you are a roller coaster of inconsistency. I ate here a couple of nights ago, for what I’m sure was the first time in a couple of years. Coco’s has for the most part been the same place since I was a kid, but, a few years ago, things got really, really crappy. I ate here twice in a short period of time. The first time we sat at our table for 45 minutes without even being asked what we wanted to drink, so we stood up, and left without anyone saying a word. The second time our waitress was pretty crabby, and our food was sub par. So, a few days ago, I was hesitant and even warned my boyfriend who had never eaten here what could happen. Since Sizzler closed, we had nowhere to get a cheap steak close by. I got the New York Steak and he got the Top Sirloin. We had a moderately pleasant waitress who was attentive, and asked if I needed anything each time our eyes met. My favorite part of the New York Steak plate is the grilled tomatoes and zucchini, and mine came with the wrong side. When I pointed it out she VERY quickly brought me the side I requested. Our steaks were both medium rare temperature. They were perfectly cooked, and so flavorful we didn’t need any A1 sauce. I am waiting to give this place a 4 or 5 star review because I want to see if this quality is here to stay. On an irrelevant note, they had their Dutch Apple Pie on sale for $ 8.99, and a slice is $ 4.99. I ended up not buying any pie because I don’t want a whole pie, and I don’t want to pay more than half the price of an entire pie for a slice. It just seems stupid to me that they would not discount the price of a slice as well.

Terrible food high prices! When you’re worse than Denny’s and you charge 30% more you gotta wonder how long this place is going to stay in business

Don’t expect great tasting food when you come here. I also wouldn’t get any dishes that are meant to have a lot of flavor. Stick to sandwiches, salads and breakfast. Our waiter Horacio was nice and attentive. Our food however was so bland! I got the steak and eggs and my hubby got the bbq steak cheeseburger(DISGUSTING!!) my steak was so bland, not even A1 helped :(the cheeseburger made me want to vomit. It was that gross. 3 stars for the waiter, mediocre breakfast and because their pie was delicious!

Way to turn it around! For the longest time, my hubby and I avoided this place like the plague after our past bad experiences. We went back about two months ago because we were starving, didn’t want fast food, and almost all other restaurant options in the neighborhood have closed. And what a difference! The food was better, the service was good. A complete 180 from the awful experiences we had before. When we asked to speak to the manager and give our compliments, we learned the restaurant is under new ownership and management. It makes all the difference. We’ve been back a couple times since then and everything was still ship shape. So nice to have the local diner back again!

Our last several visits have been disappointing. On two or three occasions they were out of a menu item, other times the food has been cold. Today, my wife’s chicken parmisian was inedible. It had no seasoning wharsoever and the basil sauce was nothing more than white gravey. The service was fine, but they’ve reached their limit of passes for food problems and we will not return.

One time my sister and I were out in a late night hot chocolate binge, and we asked the waitress if she could leave the whip cream(spoken like salty old sailor«leave the bottle»). She said she couldn’t, but then she brought us a huge bowl of whip cream, didn’t charge for the hot chocolate and kept it coming. Needless to say she got a huge tip. Money!!! What were you thinking. Gees. Dirty mind. This cocos is a good all around diner. Good for groups, good for late night dinner. Good for pie and breakfast. Tends to be busy and crowded. Occasionally you get a waitress who doesn’t care. Mostly good people tho!

This place used to be Bobs Big Boy years ago. Someone once stole the big boy from the front of the restaurant. Cocos is clean and cozy with good parking and a nice manager I think the waitresses are nice and the place is cool on a hot day and warm on a cool day Good burgers, sandwiches and a special of the day Worthy of 3 to 4 stars for effort, service and atmosphere. Food is good, not great but good enough. Sunland locals seem to love the place for their all day breakfast, coffee and deserts.

— The service is really slow and lackluster. Have to break your neck to get anyone’s attention. They are really good at the whole technique of walking by you and not making eye contact or pretending to not hear your calls. They have really mastered this art. — Food is always on the extremely salty side for some unexplained reason. — One of the last two times we dined here they served us old and cold, and I mean cold soup. When we protested they tried to just put it in the microwave. — Last time we came, and this will definitely be the last time, a GIANTASSCRICKET crawled out of my wife’s salad.
