As far as grocery stores go I would rate this store as average. The selection of of thing is just ok. The line to checkout always varies. I refuse to purchase alcohol here, Im clearly well above drinking age and they want ID for me each time. I know they are protecting themselves but really? I just go elsewhere. Its also very annoying every time I scan an item it tells me «savings» and then next items«savings» like they are trying to brainwash me that everything is on special, where in reality most things are always the same price and it acts like its on special.

Excellent pre-made sandwiches. Today I’m having the Tuscan Turkey on Foccacia. Yummy. Plenty of meat, cheese, leaf lettuce, tomato with basil pesto on both ends of the bread. Excellent for the price.

I just experienced the absolute rudest manager at this store. I came in, went to the service counter and asked for stamps. This woman rolls her eyes as much as someone could possibly do. Doesn’t say a single word to me. And kind of grumpily goes into the service area. I was appalled. I am not one to be put off by rude people but this was just over the top. I told her no thank you, I don’t appreciate her attitude and I won’t be needing the stamps anymore. She stood there in shock like I was the first person to ever call her out on this kind of attitude. I am the customer and I expect at least a basic greeting. And no, she wasn’t deaf or blind.

I’m over this dump hole of a grocery store. I don’t know why I keep coming back other than sheer convenience and it isn’t even convenient when half the things you need aren’t available or look like total slop 1.) No basil. A hand written sign near fresh herbs said basil was on tomato display. I could not find it on tomato display and I looked high and low. I bought tomatoes here several times and all have been mush 2.)Avacados were so ripe you touched them and they felt like applesauce underneath the skin 3.) They had wild salmon previously frozen. I selcted the nicest looking piece. I get home to unwrap it and it smells like a rotten carcass. I’m a seafood eater and chef so I when product is bad. I had a hunch when i saw it behind the glass but couldn’t smell it because it was behind glass. 4.) The deli section has no sopressata or proscuitto. Big freakin shame on you. Am i the only Italian in Sun Prairie??? 5.) Bought 5 bricks of cream cheese and 2 of them are out dated 6.) Burgundy romaine was rotted. all of the red romaines were limp and slimely 7.) lettuces were were wilted and brown. THEENTIREPRODUCESECTIONWAS A DUMPSTER I ALMOSTCRIED. I don’t have time to go anywhere else. This store is a nightmare of a white trash store it is disgusting I’m tired. This list could go on. I have spent so much time and money(thousands) at this store and WILLNOT ever go back. I’ll gladly make the drive into Madison to Hyvee or to the westside for Whole Foods. Just so people think I’m not a complete snob or bitch the wine department at Copps is decent. I have also had pleasant experiences with the floral and balloon associates too. I’m just so disappointed in this store. What a dump

I love this place for the gelato they have at their coffee stand right inside the front door! The Tiramisu gelato is out of this world. The employees are friendly enough but nothing spectacular. Definitely want to try their salad bar one day to see how it compares to Hy-Vee. Looks amazing though. Looks like they have a decent bakery.

They did a nice job in the retooling of the produce/deli area. It could still use a few tweaks, but it’s better than it was. I like the meat section. It’s probably the best in Sun Prairie. Far better than Woodmans. I have only had to fight off ninjas twice in all the times I’ve ever gone into the store. That’s a plus in my book. When I need some bread, a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, and a sixer of diet Coke, I don’t want to have to engage in hand-to-hand combat with Asian assassins every time I go in. Once in a while, sure – I’ll fight a ninja. You can’t keep them from attacking customers 24⁄7 and I understand that. In fact, if I never got to fight a ninja while I was trying to buy taco shells and some Steak’ums, I’d probably go back to Woodmans where the ninja attacks are frequent and challenging, but it’s just not something you want to deal with every day.

I have to admit, I have been to some pretty awful Copps locations, but this one in Sun Prairie is the best I’ve seen. They recently fixed up the produce section and I think it shows. Even though I do some of my shopping at another Sun Praririe supermarket because they carry some items that this store does not, I ALWAYS make a trip here to purchase meat and produce. Their produce is fresh and displayed nicely. They don’t keep it sitting in 3-feet high bins with gross produce going bad at the bottom of the bin like other supermarkets. The displays contain smaller amounts of different produce items so you can tell it’s turned over more often. I could wax poetic about their deli and meat department. They have some great pre-made burger options and their cuts of meat are very high quality. Their deli offers good salads for in a pinch. Plus, go shopping around noon on Saturdays and you will get some of the best samples I’ve ever had at a supermarket.

It’s a clean store with lots of variety in an easy-to-find location. Overall the produce has been better than most of the other grocery stores I’ve been to. It’s fresh and there always seems to be at least one person restocking it when I’m there. There could be more organic options, but it seems like the organic section has been growing recently. The bakery and deli are both good and the staff, while I always expect every place I go to be hit or miss, are helpful and have never been rude. The food is pretty good, too. They lots of options when you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or last minute meal. They also have a salad bar and sushi bar, which I haven’t tried, so I can’t comment on the quality. There’s plenty of variety, and weekly deals. The only issue I seem to run into every time I’m there is lack of cashiers and a long way to be on my way out the door. Luckily there’s always self-checkout for when I’m feel impatient.

I work in Sun Prairie and a lot of days I find myself needing something to eat for lunch. I could visit the local fast food joint, however Copps has an awesome deli that offers some really good chicken, sandwiches, and salads. I love the food here and the store as Kara mentioned is spic and span! The service is great and it’s close to work.

I like Copps… here is why: It’s not local but I can walk there You don’t need a perks card to get a discounted price FREESAMPLES The cashiers are always friendly… even when I am trying to share the difference between Copps and Kopps Middle of the road pricing They give my daughter a cookie which keeps her happy the rest of the shopping trip

Copps! When I’m not around a Kroger, you are a great grocery store stand-in. My dad lives in Madison, Wisconsin, which is where I experienced you. You had everything I needed and your produce and fish/poultry section was just beautiful and to die for. Great job! Plus, everything looked really clean and organized. I didn’t see an organic section, but I’m hoping you have one. I’m sure you do, you wonderful store, you. Love, Kara

Other Unilocalers are really down on this Copps and I have no idea why. It’s definitely shinier and bigger than the old Pick N Save ever was. It’s got a great selection and I suspect that it’ll keep up as best it can with the competition now that the new Woodman’s has opened up just down the road. Great liquor department — they even once offered to order a wine for me that they didn’t have in stock. Decent size selection of «specialty» cheeses(which aren’t super special, but are fancier than a lot of Midwesterners go for), and a pretty decent bulk foods section for when you want 10 lbs. of raw almonds or somesuch. I’ve always had good service here.

I kid you not, I saw a female employee in the bakery open up a package of cookies, offer them to children standing nearby, and as soon as another child approached, she slammed the lid shut and put the cookies under the counter and just stared at the little kid like«I will eat your face if you come any closer!» The little kid turned around and ran away looking scared, and so did I.

just awful. i have been shopping at this location for the last two years and without fail once a week, i have to go to another grocery store to find the item copps didn’t stock… and it’s not like i’m shopping for exotic items. this week they didn’t have arugula or blueberries. last week they were out of cabbage. the week before that, there was no flatbread. it goes on and on. the produce is stocked at all times of the day, so if you are shopping at 11am you are bound to get your cart stuck trying to get around someone. additionally, the produce is NEVER good. have you tried to buy a red or vidalia onion from this location? they are *always* rotten. we found bread covered in mold in the bulk section — the expiration date was two weeks prior. ditto in the dairy section — make sure you check the dates of every single thing you purchase because this location is notorious for their problems with stocking and freshness. once in awhile you get a checker who actually looks up and smiles and greets you but the kids bagging are just worthless. i’ve had to trek back outside to find a cart because they are never returned in a timely manner on the weekends. i give the bagger three recycled bags and they put 30 pounds of groceries into one bag and hand me the leftover bags. seriously?! i re-bag every single thing, every single time. yesterday’s fun find: the genius bag boy put ripe tomatoes at the bottom of the bag and i didn’t catch it when i re-bagged. three of the five vine tomatoes split. what else? seriously i could go on and on. the worst part for anyone that lives on this side of town is that copps is quite literally the only grocery store. i’ve been venturing out to whole foods, which is wonderful but expensive and a twenty minute drive. but when it comes to fish, you couldn’t pay me to buy from copps. take a look at their mussels and oysters if you feel inclined — 95% of them are dead. and forget about finding something«exotic» like falafal mix or tahini. copps, you suck.
